“You’ve done some very bad things. For example….a you were a god long long ago, and he raped a women against her will and she couldn’t get her abortion at the time and because of this she had his divine kids. Because of this in your future you will be raped against your will. Not necessarily by a god perhaps though that would be perfect divine punishment, probably by some random person, and I can’t tell you whether these rapes will be spiritual or literal, but you will be raped because of it. I can’t protect you. Hermes can’t protect you. Puch can’t protect you. Satan can but he thinks it needs to happen. Another thing that has happened was that you were a god of human sacrifice and you killed your brother in cold blood. He killed his brother because of petty things and revenge. Because of this you will loose your sister and your brother as divine punishment. Your family will be sacrificed. These things are hell. But every bad thing you did. Every trial and error that these gods attached to you did, you will face the divine punishment for, and it won’t all happen at once. It will be sprinkled over time. Sprouted throughout your life. But it will be Hell, and you will suffer extremely. You have a long rough few years ahead of you. But the promise at the end of the tunnel is so so great. It’s not divinity. You are already divine. And it’s also not godhood, you are already a god. I won’t tell you what it is. But it’s good.”
“Well dam” Jake said. Quietly.
“Again?”
“Another thing. Regarding this Maika friend of yours. Why are you so attached?”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s like a rape victim going back to her rapist. You are so so attached to him. It’s like “oh all he does is abuse me, beat me, scold me, and hit me, but I love him oh so so so much! Isn’t he great guys?” You talk nothing but love for him and praises, but he broke you, and he hurt you, and he repeatedly left you. You’re attached. He dislikes you. Regarding Maika, and your wish for him to be your friend again...I’m working on it, but his dislike for you is very….strong.”
“Wow.”
“Here’s the thing. In the past you were a god of forgiveness and it fits you, so I get that you are going to forgive him for leaving and I know the gods have told you that he will return and I know that you are waiting for that return but if he hurts you again.”
She paused.
“I will not hesitate to hurt him back” it was a dark thing she said. Cold which seemed out of character and serious. Jake could only sigh in response.
“One more thing.”
“Yeah?”
“I have been with you your whole life. And you are so so so so kind. You are one of the kindest souls I have ever seen. Sweet. The pain they put you through. I will never forgive them for.” her voice wavered.
“But back to this. Now I’m sure you’re very curious about me?” she asked.
“Kinda?”
“Look I know you hate this pantheon but-” she smiled.
“I’m Mesopotamian. Was the name Ah really gave to me “Wish Giver?””
“Yeah?”
“Well read up on Mesopotamian gods, and wish granting gods and you’ll find me” she smiled again.
“Yeah it’s just my history with Ishtar-”
“What history with Ishtar?”
“I evoked her” she put Jake’s fingers to his head as though to mimic stress and discomfort.
“What happened?”
“Well she said I was an idiot when I said I considered the gods my equal- wait that might have been Isis. I don’t know with the whole aspect of her thing-”
“Wait what?” Wish Giver asked.
“Yeah it was an imposter spirit. Also Iana. I know she doesn’t like to be compared to Ishtar.”
“While I won’t deny you talked to Iana at some point, because Ishtar and Iana have strong distaste for each other, which is only something you would know should you actually talk to her I know all our aspects and though we have shared vessels before, I think I would know if you were Iana! Though it’s weird your face is strikingly similar to hers- but also that would be terrible!”
“Why?”
“Well if you really are Iana, it means the world is ending.”
“Oh that would be bad. But yeah I doubt it.”
“It would also be a good thing though, because it would also mean you are here to save it!”
“Yeah” Jake laughed awkwardly.
“I don’t think I’m Iana, while I do have ties to gods, such as you and Ah Puch, that’s been confirmed to me, and Iana I’m pretty sure was an imposter spirit, because when I evoked her she denied it.”
“That sounds like Iana.”
“Yeah.”
“Anyways I should get going.” Wish Giver said to Jake.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah and one more thing.”
“Yeah?”
“That evil behind your eyes. When you do discover him. Tell him I want no part and nothing to do with him. He’s an asshole.”
“Okay”
“Goodbye. I’ll be with you.”
“Goodbye.”
Jake sat a bit longer in the shower. Contemplating everything. Finally thinking briefly of Maika, he got out.
Jake fell asleep. He was caught up in pages of a book. He was faced with a mask. It was made of pure glass. Yellow eyes seemed to stare back at him. He heard wolfs howling in the sunlight and darkened breeze. Soon he was running. The mask was gone, attached to his hip, as the dirt paced his sneakers he realized “Shit I’m out of time!” soon he was running, running away from other versions of himself. Not the gods he had come to known, but fragmented parts of his whole identity, that he couldn't quite explain and didn’t truly want to. The breeze seemed to personify, and it grabbed itself a hand over him and choked him and as he awoke, he heard it say “Your almost out of time” as he opened his eyes, he saw lights shining at his alter. He wondered one thought. “What could it mean?”
