Jen and Sarah stared like never before. They didn't know what to say. Alex, though, seemed embarrassed that he even said that.
"Sorry, I guess I kinda needed to spill it to someone," Alex said. He turned away and started walking towards the park. Jen and Sarah followed quickly. "Where are you going?" Sarah questioned. Alex did not answer but kept on walking. "Home," he said after a long time of walking.
They stood at the foot of a block of flats. It looked really run-down and old. Like my house, thought Jen."Ok, now let's go up," Alex said, heading for the lift. They went in and rode up to the highest floor. Jen and Sarah followed Alex to the last unit on the floor.
"Number thirteen? Really?" voiced Sarah. "You do know that it's kinda bad luck, right?"
"Nah, I don't really care. As long as I've got a home to live in, I'm fine." Alex replied.
He pushed open the door and led them in. The space was small and cramped, but the best thing was that the room had a giant window. And there was a...
"A swing?!" Jen exclaimed in surprise. She loved swings of any kind. She swung open the window and jumped onto the swing, which was really wobbly. Looking down from the 22nd floor, She felt as if she was flying. "Woohoo!!! This is AWESOME!"
"Hey, don't fall out," shouted Sarah, grabbing Jen and pulling her back in. Jen and Sarah looked around the small room. A bed, a little desk and a door made up most of Alex's flat. Alex, who was busy doing his own stuff, did not realise Jen and Sarah were walking towards the other door.
