On the way to the café, I saw through the shop window of the clothes store something that titillate me. “Oh gosh look at that Virgile,” I say pointing through the shop window before calling to the others who were a little bit further from us “Guys, stop I wanna see something here”
“I thought we were here for Phaenna’s birthday gift,” Virgile said.
“It was to be expected from him,” Leandre said
“We have time guys, you should try seeing if there’s something you like too,” Ergil said
“If he carries on at this speed, we won’t” Leandre commented “Remini hurry up”
I was in a fitting room, trying the top I saw through the vitrine, after entering I flashed on a few others articles and went to try them. So, as of now, everyone was waiting for me to change.
A pale yellow low-cut neckline skin-tight crop top with studs in the middle of the top, with wide long dark blue jeans with cuts on both sides going to the middle of the thigh.
“So what do you think?” I exited the cabin putting my hand on my hips proudly before turning on myself.
“This is pretty” Ergil started
“You are pretty,” Wayne said smiling toothly
“Yes, it fits you,” Virgile said
“How much is it?” Leandre asked
It was a good question, I look at the labels on the top, and 15$. And for the jean, 30$. “15 and 30” I answered, it was a tad expensive but I still had a lot of pocket money. “I’m going to take it, or else I know I am going to regret it”
“Ok, then let’s hurry to the checkout, I am getting hungry” Wayne exclaimed
“Let’s go eat cakes at the café then!” Ergil added
I bought my clothes and we went to the café. Ergil took a lemon tea and a bowl of fruits mixed with whipped cream, Leandre and I took a Viennese chocolate with a waffle (we always took that here), Wayne took a carrot cake and Virgile took a cappuccino with cookies.
When we were in the café it started raining a little then more and more. It started raining to the point that we decided it would be better to go back by bus. We were about 35 minutes walk from our pack and Virgile had to take a bus to meet us earlier. So too far to walk while raining. Especially with our shopping bags.
We decided to take the bus 02, it had Virgile’s changing stop and one of the closest arrests to our packhouse.
Wayne searched on his phone when the buses would arrive and we waited in the café, paying at the last moment a few minutes about the said arrival of the bus, whose station was near.
The bus driver wasn’t amiable, not even responding to our salutations but eagerly taking our ticket money. The bus wasn’t crowded, there were only two women standing up and still a few available seats.
The was a square of four only available and we weren’t gonna split all through the bus.
“Well, I can stand” Ergil proposed
“No, I will I am not tired, you go sit down” Wayne said
“But-“ Ergil tried
“It’s really alright” Waynes reassured
Leandre, Virgile and Ergil were sitting and Wayne was waiting for me to sit.
“Sit,” I told him
He looked at me quizzically
“Just sit,” I said pushing him gently into the last place available. Then I sat on his legs “All set” I smiled toothly.
“Tell me if I weigh too much at some point,” I told Wayne, I sat with my legs across his and one of my arms behind his neck. I took my phone from my jacket’s pocket and start going through my notification with my other free arm.
“Ok” he kissed my head which was pressed against its shoulders.
I felt Virgile, Leandre and Ergil looking at me with each, their own odd look. It didn’t last very long and I didn’t see the meaning behind it, so I resumed to my usual blabbering, about how Wayne’s brother was really active on social media, guessing how Phaenna would react to each gift, if we were going to hang out and how dreadful returning to school was going to be.
Not dismissing as trivial those looks could’ve maybe made me realise some crucial matters.
