Oh I should probably ask about the name tag, if it is a name tag "What is the purpose of the tag I received before?"
"Many people who get the opportunity to get a second life often have amnesia, the tag you received is for if you do, as it will act as a temporary name until you remember or acquire a new name yourself. Do you have any other questions?"
So it is a name tag.
"You are to help me train, correct?"
"Yes, if you need help with any of the items in the room come to me if you do not know the name of the item bring it to me and I will tell it's purpose, name and how to use it. Do you have any other questions?"
"No."
The hologram then turned itself off. I guess the only thing it was really supposed to do was give information about the room's objects and help comfort people. Let's hope it's good at one of those things. I suppose I better start.
A week has passed and I still don't know what exactly the true purpose of me being here is. I was at least given a bedroom and a bathroom, however it is odd that I still have not seen another person. The food here is strange and doesn't taste or look anywhere near appetising. The sandwich I got on the first day was far better. I also don't understand the placement of the bedroom as it is in a small corner of the training equipment section. At least the bathroom makes sense as it is connected to the bedroom. Even though the hologram said it was my coach it hasn't done any real coaching, it just answers questions. I have been training though, I know that eventually with whatever is going on, my life will be in danger. As far as training goes I tried using a gun 8/10 times I hit bullseye with a gun similar to some sort of hunting rifle, It makes me wonder if I was some sort of hunter in my past. But it also makes me worry if I've hurt anyone in the past. It doesn't help that I still don't have any memories. Also I found a book in the training room that tells you several methods to discover abilities, apparently the fastest method is to put your life in danger. Which is one I don't want to try. I have however tried some of the other methods. I can feel something from them, I just don't know what. This place is lonely.
Throughout the next 5 months- she was able to discover at least some of her abilities being able to create wind, and being able to create very small electrical currents both of which she had learned through something similar to meditation from the book she found before. And a week ago she discovered she could grow a tail and a pair of wings out her back when she slipped on some of the jungle-gym training equipment. The tail was great for balance, grabbing objects, and... hanging upside down, but with the wings she couldn't figure out how to fly. Both the wings and the tail were black like her hair. She still hasn't recovered any memories. An announcement then went off alerting her that the training period was over and that she could pick any of the weapons, clothes or tools in the room to take with her for the biome exercises.
It will probably be best if I pack lightly, too much stuff will only be a hindrance. Should I get a gun? If I do that I will only have limited bullets and then the gun would be useless and the only guns that will be useful are not light. If I get a bow on the other hand I could fix the bow as long as I have string plus I could reuse the arrows that I start with. She then picks up the bow, and a quiver which already had arrows. Looking around and she sees string, rope, some candles and a water bottle which was full and came with a filter. Then her hands were full so she sat the stuff on the floor and goes to pick out some clothes. The clothes and similar objects were kept apart from the rest of the room and resembled a walk-in closet but for superheroes as the clothes were armored. She picked out a shirt and pants that were brown and had thin armor padding. She also found a belt like thing that you could hook things to. She put the clothes she found over the thin white clothes she already had. Then she found some boots that were waterproof, had good traction and were surprisingly light. She then put them on too.
I don't believe there is anything else I need in here. I should probably get and find more stuff from the weapons and tools area. She then walks out the room and puts the quiver on her back and starts putting the other objects on the belt. She couldn't attach the candles to the belt but they were just small enough to fit into her pockets. Lastly she puts the bow on her shoulder, then looks at the other objects. She picks up two knives and sticks them on the belt. She finds a bowl with a grinding stick attached to it and attaches them to the belt. Is it bad that I feel excited? I guess not I mean, I have been stuck in this one little area for a long time. I wonder If I can take food? She then walks over to the podium and presses the button.
"Hello, how may I assist you?"
"Can I bring food for the biome exercises?"
"Yes, would you like me to bring some rations?"
"Yes"
"It will be here shortly, Do you have any other questions?"
"No"
The hologram then turned off. Then a little slit opened up in the wall and a small box flew out and skidded across the floor. I bet that's it. She then walked over to the box and opened it. It actually looks better than the food they've been giving me... I've got food, water, weapons, and some tools I think I'm ready, and I guess this is the starting point.
(In a small room with some computers and important looking papers messily strewn on the tables)
"Isn't it a little weird that it was only in the late months in the training process that she was able to use only some of her abilities?"
"Not in comparison to subject 2 and 3."
"Oh I see, so it seems to be a consistent variable... Do you think something might have gone wrong in the experiment?"
"Perhaps, we are trying something very new. You are one of the scientists that will be watching over the biomes exercises, correct?"
"Yes, I will be."
"Then I want you to try to keep them alive as long as possible, I want the most data possible. And tell the other scientists you will be working with."
"Yes, Ma'am"
