When she wakes up in the morning her legs, feet and back ache. Now that I think about it I could have gotten the box, dismantled it and slept on that. I was probably overreacting. I guess I'll do that and then I'll look for food and water. She crawls out the little opening and around ten feet away she sees rabbit trails. I guess I'll need rabbit traps then and I at least know where I could get some food. She starts walking back up the mountain to the box. The wind isn't blowing today so it was easy to see up the slope. The wind yesterday had blown the box and it's lid down so she didn't have to go far. She picks up the box and lid then walks down. She rips off each side of the box and then slides each side diagonally into the entrance. She then gets up, looks around and starts walking into the woods. Hopefully I will find a river or a creek this way, and when I get back I should make some rabbit traps. She walked in that direction for quite awhile, while also making sure to always be aware of her surroundings. Eventually she came to an area where there was some grass showing through the snow by a wide river.
"This was probably where the wolves were heading."
It looks like spring will be here soon if it hasn't already started. Which means bears and momma bears will be coming out soon. So I need to be cautious. She refills the water bottle with the water in the river. She checks the sun. This wasn't that far away. Did I just get a lucky spot? Are there others? How many and will we be enemies? This whole thing has been off but, this one spot seems so peaceful. The birds still sing, the water's surface still glistens, the grass and trees still grow. This spot is beautiful but this place is dark. She takes a deep breath in and closes her eyes and just absorbs the things around her. I feel free, but I know I'm not.
A few days later and she no longer has any food. She made some rabbit traps but the only thing it captured was a bird, which flew away as soon as she checked the trap. When she woke up, she was in the dark. She lights one of the candles that she had to figure what's going on. It snowed, I should open it up again. When she pushed the snow out of the way she discovered a snowstorm with strong icy cold wind, and she could just barely see 3 feet away from the opening. I'm clearly not going anywhere today. She covers up the hole again. Then what will I do? I suppose I could organise this place and maybe make it a little bigger.
"Groowl"
"I'm sorry stomach."
"Grr"
It's like it responded. She then moves on and starts moving the snow around to make it bigger. When she got the snow she didn't want she pushed it into the spot where the exit should be or packed it along the walls. Eventually she got it to where she wanted it. She pushed the bed that she made out of the box into a place that she expanded creating a little cubby, she also made a small shelf thing in the snow where she put the box that used to have jerky. I guess that's pretty much all I can do here. though I should check outside to see if it has gotten any better though I doubt it. She pushes the snow out of the way again making a hole. "Yeah nothing has changed and if I go out there I'm only going to get lost." She covers up the hole again. I don't think that if I lay down that I will fall asleep, so now what do I do? I suppose I could do ability practice, perhaps I could learn something that will be useful for a snowy mountain. She then uses one of the methods in that book she found called sensing where you try to go into a meditative state to learn a new ability. The downside is that once you get into that meditative state is that you don't know what’s going on around you, and you'll be very tired. After a few hours she stops. I don't feel that different, but I do feel a little more powerful. She then spreads her hands apart and tries to make an electric current between them. It's a lot stronger than before, which means I can use it for more than lighting fires. She then stops, blows out the candle, then pulls out her wings and goes to sleep on the box bed.
The next morning when she wakes up the first thing she does is remove some of the snow to see out. It's still snowing but snowing lightly and there is a bit of a wind. She uses her wind ability to blast the rest of the snow away. The snow that was blasted out was very pretty as it fell, as the regular wind caught it and blew it downhill. I think I'm going to call this the rabbit hole, it's pretty befitting. She checks to see if she still has all the things she needs and the only thing she didn't have was the bow and quiver, which she picks up. Then she crawls out of the rabbit hole. The first thing she does is check the rabbit traps. The first and second ones were empty but the third one had a rabbit. She unsheathed one of the knives and held it in her right hand. She then plunged her left hand into the trap and-"EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". The rabbit kicked and squirmed trying to get free while keeping it's eyes focused on her. She turns the rabbit to the side and takes the knife in her right hand and slits it's throat. The rabbit gasps for air as it quickly dies and bleeds out. It didn't feel good doing that but if I didn't I will probably starve at this rate. This won't last long though. She sits the rabbit on the ground and skins it. Afterwards she wipes the blade of the knife and her bloody hands in the snow to get rid of the blood. Between her hands, skinning the rabbit, and the knife the snow is now thoroughly blood stained, and will likely attract predators. She takes the rabbit and its parts and carries it back to the entrance of the rabbit hole. She sits the rabbit hide to the side and starts to cook the rabbit meat with some sticks and wood she gathered days before so she could have some dry(er) wood. Later I should clean the hide and perhaps I could make something out of it. I'm gonna need some gloves so maybe I could do that. And eventually I'm going to need to actually go hunting. I've always found my way back so far without any trouble, but I don't know how far I will have to go out to find something, or what I'll do if something finds me.
