I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing heart to make my head clear. This isn't like me, I almost spewed nonsense at K and almost cussed without a care. It's a good thing that I am pretty good at anger management.
All of what K told me are facts that even I myself can't defy. I am just annoyed by the fact that I follow orders from an anonymous person and that there are dangerous people after me in which I don't know the reason for doing so. It's just that I want someone I can rely on because doing things alone is just...
It's lonely.
[Have you calmed down? Sorry, my words just now were too harsh.]
"It's fine, you're right. I'm the one who needs to be sorry for making you see my unsightly side. Ahahaha." I awkwardly laughed and pulled the luggage behind me and went near the gate. "So, am I supposed to push this or something?" It's a very tall gate that's as high as a four-storey residential house and there's no one guarding it to either open and close it, that's why I asked K what to do next.
[A card that serves as a passcode is needed to open it, there's a card inside the bush to your left. That's yours to use.]
"What?! Hey, are you sure it's okay to hide things randomly in a bush? And it happens to be a very important thing so what if someone takes it before me?" I grumbled while searching through the bush. My hand touched something hard like a carton and grabbed it.
[What kind of thief searches bushes to steal treasures?]
Good point. Yeah, what kind of thief would do that? If there's one then I'd like to meet them myself. I opened the little box and found a transparent glass card with a tinted QR code. I glanced at the gate and examined it, searching for a part where I could use this card. "Do you have any idea on how to use this card?" I asked but K didn't answer me so K's probably out of fuel and disappeared on me again. Say sike!
There's no choice then, I'll have to do some little experiment. I tried to put the card in front of the gate, hoping that it would scan but it didn't so I tried to swipe it in between the gate's opening. Someone forgot that QR codes aren't meant to be swiped. I tried different things, swiping, shaking, blowing, and even posing. Forget the last part, nothing's going my way.
Annoyed, I threw the card that I'm holding only to regret it a second after because I remembered that it was made of glass. I tried to catch it with both of my hands but failed to do so because it shattered, right in front me. "I'm so freaking screwed!!" I pulled my own hair while yelling incoherent things when suddenly, the shattered card started to glow.
The little light it emitted went past me and was absorbed by the golden gate. The gate didn't even creak but it is now wide open.
[Congratulations on discovering how to unlock the gate~]
I bit my lower lip to strain the annoyance building up on me and avoid cursing. K was watching me suffer, all this time! I stomped on the shattered glass as a way of venting my annoyance and embarrassment. "If you only have a physical body with me now then you would have tasted my pinches, hmph!" I whispered to myself and walked through the tall majestic gate.
