Sarah wakes and she then realizes that she had fallen asleep. She sees all the campers still asleep huddled up to her. She carefully and gently wakes them up. She stands up and stretches. The campers stretch and get ready for the day. She walks out and sees the giant paw print. She sighs and heads to the dinning hall. She grabs a tray and starts to pick out some food. She grabs a blueberry muffin, a cup of orange juice, a carton of almond milk, and a bowl of cheerios. She sits off to the side by herself. Soon her campers trickle into the hall. She watches the campers as they grab some breakfast. They all go and sit down scattered around the hall. Lake, Cree, and Ariel come in and get breakfast. They see Sarah and sit down with her.
“You survived the night,” Sarah teases as she sees 4 new people walk in. They grab some breakfast and sit in the corner.
“Yeah, what was that,” Cree asks.
“That is the secret,” Sarah answers as she picks up her muffin.
“What if it got in,” Lake asks while looking at their food.
“I wouldn’t be talking to you,” Sarah answers while eating her muffin.
“How are you so calm,” Ariel hisses with a slight glare.
“I survived this hell and seen what happens if the door opens,” Sarah answers as she finishes her muffin.
“What is it,” Lake asks quietly.
“You don’t want to know,” Sarah answers with a frown.
“Tell us,” Ariel hisses still with a slight glare.
“Fuck off,” Sarah says looking down at her tray.
“You need to tell us,” Cree coaxes.
“I said fuck off,” Sarah hisses while she gets up quickly. Everyone looks at them and Sarah goes to scrape her tray. One of the 4 follows her. She scrapes her tray and walks out. The person follows. She walks out to the edge of the lake.
“Sarah,” The person calls out.
“Hey Ginger,” Sarah greets not looking at her.
“What are you doing back,” She asks as she gets closer.
“I got called back,” She answers and turns to look at the slightly shorter woman. She has long thick fine ginger hair. She has pale and fair skin with faint scars that can be seen on her arms, legs, neck, and face. She is wearing a bright pink tank top and pure white shorts with white and bright blue striped sneakers. She has one baby blue eye and one blind eye.
“You should have stayed somewhere safe,” Ginger comments with a small smile and Sarah sighs.
“This was my fault,” Sarah whispers as she gently cups Ginger’s face.
“It’s not your fault. You were in danger,” Ginger says as she places a hand on Sarah’s. Sarah gently rubs Ginger’s cheek with her thumb. Ginger leans into Sarah’s touch. They are then interrupted.
“Sarah,” Lake calls.
“Yeah,” Sarah answers as Ginger turns to leave.
“We wanted to apologize,” Cree comments as he watches Ginger walk away.
It’s fine,” Sarah says looking at them.
“Who was that,” Cree asks looking at Sarah.
“An old friend,” Sarah answers as the campers trickle out of the dinning hall. The campers run around doing various activities. They stand there chatting.
“Want to give us some advice,” Ariel asks looking at Sarah.
“Who did you hear last night,” Sarah asks while looking at the ground.
“I heard my boyfriend,” Cree answers with a sadness in his tone.
“I heard my mom,” Ariel comments while looking off to the side.
“I heard my dad,” Lake answers, confused.
“I heard her,” Sarah comments looking at the way Ginger left, “The voices aren’t real. No matter what, do not listen to them.”
“What do you mean,” Lake asks, still confused.
“How about we have a story time,” Sarah comments while thinking. They nod in agreement. They all walk to Sarah’s cabin. They all walk to Sarah’s cabin. The blue cabin.
“Take a good look around,” Sarah comments while standing in the doorway. They look around and see deep scratch marks on the floors and walls. They see dark colored stains all over the cabin.
“What happened here,” Cree asks nervously.
“Every day I will tell you part of a story. A story that tells about what happened here,” Sarah answers and they look at her in shock. They think for a moment.
“How about we do it at the fire pit,” Lake comments and they nod. They go out to the fire pit. They sit down and her campers soon join them.
“Can we join you,” Storm asks quietly.
“We are about to have story time but if you want to listen you can,” Sarah comments and they sit down.
“So, what’s the story,” Hana asks curiously.
“It’s about a camper who caused and survived a tragedy,” Sarah answers while looking at them, “It’s about why the blue cabin looks like a murder scene and why it doesn’t lock anymore.”
“It doesn’t lock,” Ariel asks in shock.
“Now our story begins 5 years ago. A young 13 year old girl happy for her first day of camp. She had just gotten off the bus and she met the leader of the camp soon after. He was greeting all the campers and had an old trunk. He opened it and it was filled with costumes. Animal costumes. He gave all the campers one. The girl ended up being the bunny. She was so happy. She loved bunnies. Other campers however thought differently and snickered at her. She was then taken to her cabin. The green cabin. She walked in with the other campers. Soon she realized she was alone and everyone had left. She also realized that there was someone else in her bed. The person in her bed was a girl around her age. The two girls became instant friends. Then the girls try to leave but they are stopped by 2 teenage boys stepping into the doorway. They walk into the cabin and shut the door. One of the boys had the wolf costume on. The boys back the girls into the private bathroom. The wolf boy pins the bunny girl to the wall by her throat.”
“Is that all,” Cree asks, wanting to hear more.
“That is all for today,” Sarah answers with a small smile, “It’s lunch time.”
They all get up and head to the dinning hall. The campers grab some lunch and scatter around the hall to sit down. Sarah grabs a peanut butter sandwich, a small bag of chips, and a bottle of chips. She finds a seat in the far corner. Lake, Cree, and Ariel sit with her after they grab food.
“Why only just that amount of the story,” Lake asks with interest shining in her eyes.
“Why ruin it by telling you the ending so soon,” Sarah asks with a smile as she picks up her sandwich.
“Can we get a little more,” Cree coaxes and slightly begs.
“I can give a little more after lunch,” She says with a sigh. They smile and Sarah leaves quickly. Ginger soon joins her at her side.
“Ginger,” Sarah calls in a tired tone.
“Sarah, is it wise to tell them,” She asks and Sarah sighs.
“Do you remember the morning after the first night,” Sarah asks and Ginger nods.
