Chapter 2- Cafe
I walked into the shop, being welcomed by the scent of fresh coffee. A smile spread across my face as I saw my friends waving to me. I walked over to them, the smile still on my face. “Hey, what’s up guys?” I said to them sitting next to Connor. “We were just talking about work and you know, regular stuff!” Ezra replied, taking a sip of her drink. Lizzie nodded “So how was your day so far?” I took a deep breath “It’s been pretty good. I dropped the kids off at school, and I made breakfast for Asher but he barely ate any of it so I finished it for him.” My friends all looked at each other.
I looked out the window to see a girl and Asher talking outside the building. I had genuinely forgotten that his company was across the street from this cafe. I was about to get up and walk over to them across the street “No don't!” Lizzie whispered - screamed. She’s right. Maybe I’m overreacting. Maybe he’s just introducing her to the company. Right? I’ll just ask him when he gets home. He loves me. I kept thinking to myself, eventually hoping that would register into my brain. Lizzie said “Well anyways, I brought you a gift bestie!” Lizzie took out a white bag and put it on the table. I smiled, she’s always being nice and giving me gifts.
I took it and put it beside me. “Open it now!” Lizzie begged, trying to brighten up the mood. I opened the package and found the red pumps she had texted me inside the box. I gasped as I took them out of the box. They were exactly my size “I wanted them to be perfect for a date with you and Asher tonight. I had another gift in mind but I think that gift would be a little too much.” Connor laughed, “You’re lucky Lizzie gave you that gift because if I were the one to give you a gift, I would’ve gifted you condoms.”. Everyone laughed like crazy. What caught my attention was Asher. He was talking to a man outside of his building. I turned red as he stared right at me through the window. It’s kind of weird how he could spot me a few miles away. I guess everyone saw because the next thing I know everyone looked out the window. I saw Asher chuckle to himself as he finally walked inside his building, deciding to go back to work. Me and my friends chit-chatted for a few more minutes, until we all decided to go on with our days.
6 Hours Later
Asher picked me up from the house in his new 2021 Mercedes-Benz CLS -Class. I was always a bit worried about leaving the kids with the nanny, but tonight is the night that we decided to have a dinner date. I was obviously dressed for the occasion with my red short thigh high lace dress.Tonight was the night where I was going to ask him about his weird behavior. He seemed normal now but still I needed to ask. He had his hand comfortably on my thigh as he drove with one hand. I trusted him but I was just curious. I occasionally glanced at him throughout the ride. We got to the dinner place but people were staring at us. What was going on?
We walked into the waiting room of the restaurant. This was the most expensive restaurant in our city. “So how was your day?” Asher asked me, leaning back in the seat. “It was pretty good. I met up with my friends at the cafe, I noticed you across the street. I went home and started cleaning up the house, but then I got distracted and started sewing.” I replied. Asher nodded “We got a new front desk manager so I met him outside and started talking to him. But then I got him inside and my assistant gave him a tour.” I smiled at him. I was wearing those red pumps Lizzie gifted me and I was maybe hoping there would be a little spice tonight.
The waiter finally got us to our table and gave us a menu. We sat down and looked at the menu. “Can you believe we’ve been five years married?” Asher abruptly asked me. I grinned at him “I can’t. But I just can’t believe I’ve known you for longer? Remember when we met in highschool ? I thought you were a creepy junior and I sprayed you with pepper spray!” Asher laughed “Trust me, I remember that day like it was yesterday! I can’t even believe we got married that young, you know? I try not to think about it, but I sometimes regret getting married so young.” My smile dropped. What did he mean? He must be having male hormones or something. He’s the one who got down on one knee and pulled the ring out. “I don’t ever regret marrying you, Asher. Honestly, what has been going on with you these past few days.” I said to him, putting down my menu. Asher did the same. “I never said I regretted marrying you, I said I regretted getting married so young! I swear sometimes you don’t listen!” He replied back. I felt myself fuming up “You basically just said the same thing, Asher, how old do you think you are? You’re only 27, you’re still young! If you didn’t want to get married, you shouldn’t have ever knocked me up at 18! What do you mean I don’t listen? It’s like you completely disregard my thoughts and feelings! This is the first time you’ve taken me out on a date in months!” Asher rolled his eyes, “Can you just shut up?” He said in the process. I smirked “What if I don’t?”
“Let me go! Asher, let go of me!” I shouted at him. He was dragging me out of the restaurant, and into the car! “You’re hurting my wrist! Please let go!” I said as he unlocked the car, pushing me into the car. I felt my dress lift up a bit, I readjusted myself in the seat, flinching to the sudden door slam. Asher had a furious expression as he sped off, leaving the restaurant.
I gulped, pushing my tears back. I was completely cold, but my dress was short so that was to be expected. I wish he would lend me his jacket but I don’t even think he wants to look in my direction. “I'm sorry . . I apologize for talking to you like that!” I said to him, my voice shaking. Asher has never acted like this towards me. I was afraid. I didn’t want to lose him but maybe I do need to lose him. He’s all I’ve ever known for half of my life. I never got to venture out or be a thot. I was stuck with him . . I am stuck with him. What the heck am I talking about? We’re married with kids. He’s my life partner.
I was awoken from my thoughts by the car coming to a stop. “Get out the car!” Asher aggressively mumbled at me. I quickly got out, not wanting to upset him anymore. I quickly caught up to him as he unlocked our house door! I noticed the nanny was on her phone on the couch. Asher paid her and quickly ordered her to get out of the house. I followed him into the kitchen. “Go upstairs!” He yelled, pouring himself a glass of alcohol.
I went upstairs, noticing the kids were sound asleep in their rooms. I shut our bedroom door and sat on the bed. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want any of my actions to make him more mad. The door opened, and he walked in, shutting the door and locking it. I gulped as I got up from the bed. I didn't see his eyes as I walked to the bathroom. He hadn’t said anything to me, so I was assuming we were back to somewhat normal.
I took off my makeup. I decided to change my clothes in the bathroom. I walked over to the closet that was connected to our bathroom and pulled on my favorite two piece pink pajamas. I brushed my hair back and as I was trying to tie it in a messy bun, Asher walked into the closet. He stared at me. “Take those off,” He said with a stern voice. I looked down at my pajamas. Is he talking about my pajamas? “Huh?” I asked him, butterflies filling up in my stomach. “You heard what I said!” He smirked, taking a sip of the liquor. I gulped. I began taking off my pajamas, leaving me bare and exposed. He grinned at me, looking me up . . and down. “Go in the room” He said to me. I quickly ran out of the closet, I didn’t want him to see me. I laid down on the bed, cuddled in the blankets. I noticed Asher out of the corner of my eyes, I could tell he was taking his clothes off.
I felt a nudge beside the bed, so I knew he was on the bed with me. I felt a hard surface on my back and I felt someone breathing on my neck. I felt soft kisses on my neck, I felt him getting lower as I laid on my back. I felt sudden noises come out of my mouth. I love Asher. I love him alot. I love him to infinity. This is just his way of saying sorry to me.
