"Fucking asshole!" Yelled a furious student and stormed toward Mr. Arcturus while brandishing a steel pipe.

While Mr. Arcturus was still holding Zyair’s fist, he noticed the furious student when he sensed an overwhelming surge of uncontrollable rage coming from a distance. As soon as Mr. Arcturus and this student met gazes, the student was already close and swung the pipe open directed at the teacher’s head with all his strength.

As someone who had deftly dodged Zyair’s earlier barrage of punches, Mr. Arcturus found it relatively easy to avoid the incoming steel pipe assault as he thought it was just a piece of cake, especially coming from an aggressive student. As what he always believed, violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.

With a swift and agile sidestep to his right, he twisted his body to dodge the student’s fierce attack narrowly missing the lethal swing. He maintained a calm look despite the aggression while stepping backwards in preparation for another attack. He watched as the student, blinded by anger and desperation, hadn’t thought about what would happen if the teacher were to dodge his pipe. His mind was too clouded with the intent to inflict harm to the teacher and yet in the end, he still failed to hit him just like Zyair. His unsuccessful attempt led him to unintentionally break through the window behind him, causing it to shatter as though it was no stronger than a piece of paper.

Mr. Arcturus looked at the window and understood that the student had really intended to shatter his skull. He then scanned the other students to see if they had witnessed what just happened and to check if anybody was hurt. But to his astonishment, they were supporting and cheering up for their classmate while they threw dirty objects at their teacher. Some were shouting ‘End it here and now,’ as if it was a fierce fight between two men in a boxing ring. Others were jangling metal trash bins and vigorously pounding random pots with sticks.

Despite the onslaught of garbage, crumpled papers, and stones thrown at him, his main worry was the condition of his suit.

The students gathered around the teacher, particularly Zyair, were visibly jerking their heads back from the crashing sound. It’s quite an unusual reaction for Zyair since he’s not one to be easily surprised. The abrupt assault from his classmate was so unexpected that it certainly bought him some time shuffling back a step or two. As self-centered as he typically was, he believed it would be ideal if he would be the one to finish off the teacher.

After Mr. Arcturus smoothly dodged the student’s potentially lethal assault, the enraged student breathed heavily and looked at him like his eyes intended to murder him.

"Well, that was really dangerous. You could’ve hit someone," Mr. Arcturus declared while attentively observing the student wielding the steel pipe from a distance.

Zyair, who was harshly self-critical for not managing to strike the teacher earlier, stood eyes wide open to this aggressive classmate who remained indifferent to his own failed attempt. Unlike him, his classmate wasn’t bothered by his own missed strike. Instead, his classmate had another reason to be angry — he believed a normal teacher shouldn’t be able to dodge attacks so well. To him, the teacher was nothing short of a pretentious nuisance that’s blissfully unaware of his actual standing. With a firm resolve, he wanted to show the teacher where he really belonged, which was not here but somewhere much worse. Hell.

"This guy… he could be playing with us, you know. Why are you all so eager to take a hit on him? You’re just embarrassing yourself," remarked Arvid as he watched Mr. Arcturus provoking the furious student gripping a steel pipe.

As the window broke into pieces, there was a smell of something disturbing from the outside that went through their senses. Even the students near the window were fazed that the smell was something from a dead animal rotting outside. It was so bad that the smell circulated around their classroom, it’s as if living things would die if they came in contact with this bad smell.

When the window shattered into pieces, a disturbing odor wafted in from outside invaded their nostrils all at once. Even the students near the window were fazed recognizing the unmistakable stench of a dead animal rotting nearby. The foul smell quickly spread throughout the entire classroom and filled every corner with its nauseating presence. It was so bad that it felt like anything alive would drop dead if it came into contact with the smell. The students exchanged uneasy glances and their faces twisted in disgust. Even the ones who weren't near the window could feel the overpowering smell of death.

It was as if the air itself had turned toxic, the students thought it would be a great opportunity since the teacher himself seemed like a person who’s sensitive to such things. They figured that the awful smell might make the teacher, who always seemed so neat and tidy, either throw up or leave the room.

However, they were puzzled when they saw him just standing there, watching the student holding a steel pipe as if ready to dodge another attack.

His clothes were spotless, he smelled nice, yet he wasn't reacting to the awful stench at all.

Mr. Arcturus noticed the utter confusion on the faces of the students near him. He saw some of them covering their noses while others looked like they were about to vomit. He could tell that some of them were starting to hallucinate, and some were staring at the air laughing as if they're seeing the visions of their dead relatives and they’re next.

Sensing something was wrong, the teacher decided to lighten the mood. With a smile, he joked, "If you're wondering why I'm not reacting to the smell, it's because my nose is broken."

He had no idea if the joke was successful or not. The students hadn't asked about it, but he still brought it up and it made them wish they could silence him through slitting his throat.

Not a minute later after seeing their plain expressions, Mr. Arcturus took back his words, saying, "That was a joke," and smiled.

They were left dumbfounded. Sometimes, they couldn’t really tell what was going on in his mind. He always acted in strange ways with his unpredictable reactions and confusing expressions. He seemed like he's not reading the room at all. His presence was obviously unwanted in the class and the students showed it through their faces. And now, he cracked a joke that’s not even funny at the slightest and left everyone baffled. He had a way of anticipating their moves and thoughts, which made it feel like he was always one step ahead. They couldn’t read him at all, and yet he seemed to know exactly what they were thinking and feeling. It felt like he was playing a game only he knew the rules to.
