While Marco was asleep, he had another dream, a dream which Rachel had previously mentioned was coming. The dream was told again by a ghostly and raspy voice, which stated the following:

«This message is for you and you only, no one will be able to see this dream through any means. You have been gifted the power to receive answers to the questions you pose. Use this gif to your advantage and show your true colours.»

And just like that the night had passed again, the dream felt like an instant, yet the sun was already shining in the sky and people were chatting outside the tent.

Marco got out of the tent to which he was greeted by a strange sight. His companions were eating in a stone table and the meal was quite vast.

“Oh hey Marco, you sure sleep like a rock.”

“What is all this stuff, where did you get this?”

“I used my barrier power to cut in between rocks, it was tiring as hell but at least we have a table now. The food is courtesy of Charles, we got fish, mushrooms and even this weird fruit.”

“Don’t worry about any food poisoning, I gave those to animals of the forest before to test it out.”

“Charles power is pretty handy, he made all the fish super calm and we caught a load of them with our bare hands.”

Marco was astonished at how well the day had started, they had made skewers of everything, probably because other methods of cooking wouldn’t really work for now.

“What happened to our cooking pot?”

“Oh yeah that… I left it behind when the centipede started chasing me.”

“We should go back, that’s pretty valuable.”

“No we won’t, I can only control one of those at a time, if more appear we are all dead.”

“Guess we aren’t getting that pot back…”

“So, what are you guys doing around here? Do you have any specific plan?”

“We are travelling around the edges of the forest to see if we can find any sort of village or camp.”

“I see, but you may be looking forever.”

“If we find a good place to settle we will try to develop it a bit there but in the best scenario we find a village beforehand.”

“Best scenario you don’t get killed on the journey.”

“Well you will go with us no? We won’t need to worry about any animal attacks.”

“My power has limitations, I’m not strong enough to hold a hoard of predators still. On that note, Marco didn’t you have your power explained already?”

“That’s right it’s your second dream.”

“I did but I don’t really get it, I have to do some more testing.”

“Just tell us what your dream told you.”

«Is it safe to share my power with them?» As his sight turned red he realised now what was happening yesterday, this was how his power worked.

“Well I used it just now, if you can guess what it is I will confirm it, otherwise I’m keeping it for myself.”

“Dude there’s no need to be so paranoid, we are all allies.”

“Ford is right, just tell me already.”

«Is Charles keeping a secret from us?» Green

«Just as I suspected»

“Well I will tell you my ability once you tell me what you are hiding Charles.”

“Stop acting like an ass, what are talking about!?”

“It’s the nature of my ability, I know you are hiding something from us.”

As soon as Marco said that Charles expression changed drastically, everyone at the table could see the gaze he launched at Marco. He had stepped on a toe and the repercussions were coming.

“Tell me what you are hiding, and I will trust you, fail to do it and you just prove I’m right.”

“Alright then, I will reveal it, there’s no need for me to stick with a group that knows too much.”

“Charles, whatever it is I’m sure we can talk it out.”

“My number used to be nine hundred. I was the one that made it go down.”

“What, how!?”

“I won’t tell you that part of the story, I have nothing to gain from it. What matters is, if your power can be used to expose that secret, I can’t afford to be here, if you tell me what your power is and I believe you aren’t a threat I stay.”

“Why do you need to keep that secret from us?”

“Because its disadvantageous for me if you have that information.”

“My power is to read emotions.”

“Is that so, care to explain how it works?”

“To put it simply if I talk enough to someone I’m able to tell how they feel and behave based on your attitude.”

“So you found out I was keeping a secret from you guys because since back then you knew every time I lied, I see now.”

“If you won’t tell me what you are hiding from us I’m okay with that, but don’t expect me to trust you.”

“I don’t want your trust, I will carry on with you all but when the opportunity arrives I will part ways.”

“Charles I’m not like Marco, he wants to know what you are hiding, I don’t care, you are clearly a key member of our team.”

“It doesn’t matter, I have already told you all too much and soon you will find out what I’m hiding from you whether I want it or not, I hope that will be after we parted ways.”

“Well, this breakfast really got heated up boys. Sorry to ruin the mood but we need to keep going.”

After the heated discussion was over they took everything down and resumed their journey, they walked for hours on end until Ford found something odd in the distance. Going downhill there seemed to be a dirt road in the middle of the fields.

“This is just what we were looking for, now we just need to pick a direction and we are set!”

«Should we go left?» Red

“Let’s head right. If there is a town I think it makes more sense if its that way.”

“Why do you think that?”

“Well that’s the direction the river was going towards.”

“The river? What river?”

“I passed through a small river before getting to you guys.”

“Alright we are going this way then!”

“You sure seem excited Rachel.”

“I didn’t expect us to come across something like this so soon!”

«Thank god they haven’t seen the river, I made those facts up.»

They went on the road for long, as the clouds went by and sky turned grey the cold hard weather began showing itself again. If they didn’t arrive anywhere today it could be that they wouldn’t be able to continue their travel, as the clouds became darker, and the blue sky began fading away they had no choice but to take a detour.

They were currently in a sparse forest which seemed to be of ever-increasing density, the road kept going on downwards, however you could not see where it led through all the vegetation.

“We need to find shelter, it might begin raining soon.”

“I disagree, we should stay on the road.”

“No Charles is right, we don’t have much protection from rain and I doubt our tent is water proof.”

“Can’t Ford make a barrier to stop the rain?”

“My power is still developing I’m not sure if I can keep all the rain away from us.”

«Are we still far away from where we should go?» Red

“Alright you guys can try looking for shelter, I will go on ahead, who knows if we aren’t already near a town or something of sorts.”

“Marco that’s a terrible idea, what if something attacks you while you are alone.”

“I’ll go with him, you two can seek shelter.”

“Alright but if you don’t find out anything soon please come back.”

“Sure thing, I assume Ford will be able to protect you both right?”

“Yeah leave it to me man.”

“Alright then, let’s get going.”

As such they parted ways, Rachel and Ford went into the forest to see if they could find a place where rain wouldn’t hit too hard, there were some thicker trees far on the left, perhaps those could shield them partially from the rain.

Marco and Charles kept going on the road, as the air got colder some fog started appearing, hindering their vision of the path but not so much that it would cause a problem.
