I looked over to my side where my father stood. What was I supposed to say to him? I couldn't lie and the others would want to know why I was gone so long as well. I don't think I can handle this. What would Jane say about this? I mean we're only here because we ran away from this man. He killed our mother. I don't know what's wrong with me for wanting to go home with this man.

[James. I thought you and the others would be asleep by now. Why are you out here instead of in your room?] I was terrified but I tried to keep my composure.

“You think I'm going to sleep while you're out here by yourself? Stop playing games. Who is this guy?” I took another glance over at my father. He looked pissed. Guess he doesn’t like James. Great.

I stepped up to try and explain, but before I could my father pushed past me and got in James’ face.

“I’m his father and I'm here to take him and my daughter back home. I’m not going to stand here and let you yell in my son's face, do you understand?” oh...my life is so over. James is going to kill me. My dad is intimidating but he could never even hope to beat James. I should have come back on my own to get Jane.

“Is that so? I thought you said you killed him, babe.” I flinched when the words left his lips. What was I supposed to say?

“Jamie, is this your boyfriend? No, no, no. You’re too young for him!” oh my god. Someone please just kill me already.

[It’s not like that at all. Never mind any of that. Let’s just get Jane and go home, please. I don’t want to stay here any longer than I have to.] he turned to me and then looked back at James before backing off.  This could have gone so much better.

"Go grab your sister and let's get out of her, right now. You're never allowed to see this man again."
