Water mixed with blood ran over my feet, the lifeless body lying in the bathtub made me fall to my knees as I wept. The person I loved had slit his wrists, taking away any chance I had of confessing my feelings to him.1
How had I not realized that this man felt this way? When had I started to think this way? Why didn't he ever say anything to me so I could help him?
However, it was too late for both of us, now he was on the other side...And I, with the same dagger with which my beloved had cut his veins, would cut mine in order to accompany him.
—I love you Roderick. —I whispered through my tears, bringing the blade of the weapon to my wrist, but when they brushed against each other I opened my eyes.
I was sweating and my heart was beating a thousand per hour, my breathing was completely irregular. I looked around, realizing that I was in my room, nothing was out of place. Then I looked at the door which didn't seem to have anything I should be worried about.
—How does it feel to remember Olivia? —Hearing the creepy voice of the creature behind my door, I realized that this horrible nightmare had been his doing.
—Obviously bad, like any normal person. —I answered truthfully as I got out of bed.
—It's funny you should say that, since I'm not normal and not human either. —He commented with a chuckle.
—You're right. —I said, taking a big breath of air. —You're a fucking monster. —I spat in annoyance, staring at the door.
—IF YOU COME BACK LIKE THAT I'LL SEW YOUR FILTHY MOUTH SHUT! —he exclaimed, banging on the door as she tried to open it.
—You'll have to get me out first to do it. —I replied confidently, crossing my arms.
I was full of courage, I knew he wanted to provoke fear by showing me that my life was literally being possessed by him little by little. However, I could not allow it, I needed even a small piece of my being to remain intact. I had already resigned myself to the fact that someday I would leave here, still, not leaving this place was much better than being by his side.
—Oh dear, don't worry. When you least expect it, everything will happen. —He affirmed with a calmness that I found completely disturbing. —Until then, enjoy your little room.
