Aithen POV

I walked into the room and found literally nothing. “This is weird '' I thought to myself. It was just an empty barren room with nothing but a few papers, cloth and tissue scattered around. “So all this for nothing...Well I may as well search around incase of something”. I picked up a piece of paper to see if anything was there. “Draw 2 541” was written on the back. “A code? Maybe” I looked around to see if there were any draws, in the corner of my eye I found a single alone draw. I ran to it and opened the second draw. To no one's surprise the draw had a passcode and Aithen typed “541” into the passcode. It made a buzzing sound and revealed it’s contents, inside were a few folders one of them stood out the most. “Project Markix new discovery”. “Hello, so we have made a new groundbreaking discovery on Fragment-66. We have found out that Rift-66 could be made by something not human, on one of our Rift-66 excavation sites we studied a 2m by 2m Rift-66 and upon examining it we have found organic substances inside this Rift-66, this leads to something being able to utilizate Fragment-66 and organcilly being able to produce Rift-66. The biggest theory I have proposed is that this creature who can do this...Is not from earth”. “What the hell? So someone IS behind the zombies then?” Before I could investigate further a red flashing light came on with a really loud annoying buzz “Lockdown Initiated zombies detected near your area”. A few zombies came my way but I shot them with ease, after all it was only 8 zombies and I don’t see any more in my area. I should go though and try to find Thomas. I ran past a few documents which may have helped but the mission is pretty much complete now. “Everyone gets ready to evacuate and our mission is complete. Bring any data you’ve found with you. The heli will be here in 10 or so minutes.” I said on the radio then I said “Hey Charles can you pick us up in 10?” Hopefully Charles can get us before 10 minutes. Zombies flooded through every entrance and exit. I was losing hope by the second. Through the cramped hallways and the big rooms there were zombies in every corner our chance of escaping was coming thinner and thinner I was only thinking of one thing...I was going to radio and kill myself it would be a lot better than to be infecte- “Aithen if you don’t hear from me after or see me just know that I thought you were the kindest and best member of Elixium, it was fun to be a member but unfortunately like our old saying ‘all things eventually come to an end.” Kaylee was on the radio…”Hey! Don’t you dare okay I haven’t heard from everyone else...We can get out trust me...Please we can’t lose here” I shouted that on the radio time after time but no response. This...Probably...Is...The...End. The journey of the Elixium. “John code fallen-bridge” I said as I switched to John's radio channel. Code fallen-bridge means that the mission is failed and a squad member is dead. “And not just one John. Kaylee is most likely dead and all other members are missing...Actually you could be dead too” The zombies were inching closer to Aithen spelling his death...Although I might die I have to try. My plan is to escape using Rift-66 hopefully it will teleport us to dimension-1b. The only problem is we have no idea what’s there but I’ll take my chances. “No..No no no no no no this ain’t happening, this is some sorta trick right? RIGHT?” John shouted loudly on the radio. “Unfortunately not but all's not lost just yet, here is the plan...Get everyone even if they’re dead treat them so the virus can’t spread and after you’ve done that bring everyone to the left path I went in the room to the left.” I said that then ran so fast that my radio fell out of my hand. The hordes of zombies made it hard to get into the room where Fragment-66 is stored and I was just there killing zombies. I was running out of time, a zombie bit my armour nearly going into my skin I turned swiftly and shot him straight through the mouth and kicked his head in. I may look and sound calm because I’ve been in this situation a few times before but truth be told I’m panicking a lot. I’ve had this squad and it’s members for the longest time so I can't lose them now...I trust that Johnathan will bring them back. Through the not spacious hallways I found a new room. I hadn't had time to open it so I kicked open the door, the door crumbled and smashed into pieces leaving a special splinter surprise for the zombies. While in this room I found a few of Fragment-66 and threw them into my bag in hope I found the machine that makes Rift-66. “Help!” I heard someone shout, it sounded very much like Thomas so I ran into the direction that I heard the shouting in. After running past tons of rusted doors, through the odor of rotting zombies and past hoards of zombies I had found Thomas. “Ouch Aithen please help” - Thomas struggled to say. He had attack marks all around him and looked seriously injured although upon examining him i found no bite marks on his body so he probably isn’t infected. I picked him up and wrapped bandages around him to stop any more bleeding. I supported him and helped him to a high place so zombies will take longer to find Thomas. I managed to find my way back to the room where I first found Fragment-66 and Rift-66, first I picked up more and turned the machine to its maximum and the machine spits a loud warning. “Warning turning on the particle accelerator to the maximum may result in a high damage explosion….Killing everything here.” I ignored the warnings and set it up anyway. I was about to radio to John that everything was ready but I realised that I dropped my radio earlier on. I ran back to where I found Thomas and supported him until we reached the particle accelerator. “Wow, what's that?” - Thomas wondered. “It’s the particle accelerator if we put enough Rift-66 it could teleport us out of here” I told Thomas…”C’mon Johnathan we’re counting on you” I was waiting for what seemed like ages and i had enough…”Well I guess he just doesn’t care...stupid jerk.'' I shouted in anger while runnin back to the left path that Jake and Jack went. I ran for ages and ages, my heart was pounding and my breathing was faster and faster. I couldn’t find them no matter how hard I checked. They were nowhere to be found until I decided to clear the zombies out in the control room...Maybe I’ll find them through the cameras in the control room. I managed to make my way to the control room and shot the remaining zombies in there and to my surprise I found Jake and Jack with very minimal injuries that didn’t need treatment. This was going really great...Now I just need Kaylee, I had enough of John and I thought of leaving him here but that’s not how a leader acts so I went to find Kaylee and John although I couldn’t find them so I assumed that John maybe actually helped for once and got her so I made my way back to the particle accelerator. I waited nervously in hope that they would come soon.
