The following is based on a short story by Jorge Luis Borges.

A long time ago, the Yellow Emperor decided to take the Dark Poet on a tour around his palace. The palace was as beautiful and great as the universe and, as they walked through it, they crossed rivers, mountains, brothels, lakes and tiger dens. The Dark Poet, however, did not say anything about the wonders his eyes fell upon. At some point, they arrived at the beginning of a long line of towers, the first of which was yellow and the last red, but because there were so many of them, one could not see the difference in colours. Each of these towers contained a palace as great as the one they had been touring, and so they crossed even more mountains, rivers and tiger dens.

When they arrived at the last tower, the Yellow Emperor finally asked: ‘What do you think of my palace? Have you ever seen anything greater?’. The Dark Poet, who had remained silent from the beginning, finally let his voice out and proclaimed the most horrifying verses ever to be heard. They contained the whole palace, and described everything the poet had seen so far: the rivers, mountains, brothels and the world inside each tower. Terrified, the Yellow Emperor ordered the Dark Poet’s execution, and killed himself afterwards.

Some say there cannot be two identical things in this world; others claim that the palace is a metaphor of the universe, and its translation into language was the most cruel of sins. Centuries later, in one of the towers, this story was known as the tale of creation. The Yellow Emperor was called Lux and the Dark Poet was called Noctem: their deaths a necessary ordeal that gave birth to the physical world and all the creatures that live in it.
