“I think we can,” Sarah answers with a kind smile.
“It may be a summer romance but we can be together,” Ginger comments with a smile but the worry is still there.
“Indeed. Now, what is wrong,” Sarah asks while pulling Ginger close to her.
“I heard a couple girls planning to stay out past curfew tonight,” Ginger answers as she leans into Sarah.
“First we need to grab food and then I can get ready for that tonight,” Sarah comments as she continues to hold Ginger. Ginger nods worriedly.
“Just don’t get caught this time please,” Ginger whispers out worriedly.
“I won’t,” Sarah says with a smile. She then leads Ginger into the dinning hall. They grab a couple of sandwiches and sit together. They are soon joined by Lake, Cree, and Ariel. They look at Ginger curiously.
“Hey Sarah, who is this,” Lake asks curiously.
“I’m Ginger,” Ginger introduces with a smile.
“She is an old friend,” Sarah comments and Ginger giggles. Ginger rests her hand on Sarah’s.
“She seems to be a little more than a friend,” Cree comments with a sly smile.
“Yeah,” Sarah sighs out and Ginger looks at Sarah with sadness showing on her face.
“What’s wrong,” Cree asks.
“You will figure it out,” Sarah answers and gets up. She walks out and to the cabin. She sees all but Arya and Lorelie. She puts her phone down on a dresser as she sighs.
“Okay, put this dresser in front of the door,” Sarah comments and they nod. She shuts the door and hears the dresser being pushed in front of it. She walks around looking for the girls while whistling. She sees the sun setting and frowns.
“Time to fight again,” Sarah mumbles out as she walks towards the fire pit. She sees them there at the fire pit. She also hears the howl. She runs up to them.
“You need to come with me. Now,” She says when she gets up to them.
“Why should we,” Arya asks while folding her arms against her chest.
“What attacked the cabin will be back,” Sarah answers and starts to try to get them away from the pit. Then she sees them. The curse. They are standing at the edge of the forest watching and waiting.
“Get up. Now,” Sarah says sternly and they get up while frowning, “Now, we are going to stay together and head for the lake. Got it?”
“Why the lake,” Lorelie asks confused.
“No time to explain. Just follow me,” She answers as she starts to run to the lake. The girls are running close behind her. She runs out onto the old dock and stops beside the row boat connected to it. The girls soon join up with her.
“Get in,” She tells the girls.
“What? Why,” Arya asks, confused.
“Either get in or swim,” Sarah answers and the girls get into the boat. Sarah frees the boat and pushes it out into the water. The girls slowly row out to the middle of the lake. Sarah stands at the edge of the dock looking back towards the cabins. She sees the eyes of 4 beings showing through the darkness. One set shines a bright golden. One shines brightly blue and one shines a deep blood red. The last has two different colored eyes. One eye shines golden and the other eye shines blood red. Sarah chuckles as she turns and takes a deep breath as she dives into the lake. The pitch black water feels cool as it runs across her body. She surfaces and lets her breath out. She slowly and carefully swims out a little ways and then she floats.
“Sarah, are you okay,” Lorelie asks, slightly rocking the boat.
“Yeah, just don’t move around too much,” Sarah answers as she floats towards them.
“Why,” Ayra asks worriedly.
“The reason they don’t come out here will show themselves,” She answers as she floats up closer to them.
“What do you mean? I thought we were safe,” Lorelie comments, scared.
“We are if we don’t move around much,” Sarah comments as she carefully and gently climbs into the boat, “Now, care to tell me why you stayed out past curfew?”
“We wanted private time,” Arya answers quietly with slightly blushing.
“Bathroom or during the day. Those are when and where you can get private time,” Sarah comments with a soft chuckle.
“But what if you walk in,” Arya asks in shock.
“I’d know you were safe ,” Sarah answers with a small shiver from a cold breeze.
“You wouldn’t stop us,” Arya asks in surprise.
“As long as you both consent to it no,” Sarah answers with a sigh. They look at her in shock.
“What do we do now,” Lorelie asks worriedly.
“We wait till morning,” Sarah answers with a sigh.
“What if the monster out here shows up,” Arya asks, scared and worried.
“I will deal with it,” Sarah answers and they nod scared. The girls cuddle up on the bottom of the boat and fall asleep. Sarah stays awake to keep watch. She sees the creatures that live beneath the water swim by the boat. They gently knock against the boat and circle the boat. Their scales glitter and shine under the light in the moonlight. She soon lets the memories take over.
