When the Weak Go Marching In Part 4
“I don't need your concern.”
Gato lunges at the pinned down Lost to which it begins convulsing in response. Yuki sucks his teeth as he removes his gravitational influence on the sludgy mess.
I yell at him,
“Why the fuck did you do that??”
Gato gets attacked and scratched. Yuki sighs,
“It's her demons, not mine. We aren't together so I’m not obligated to protect her anymore.”
He's being a bitch again, here I am using the same words he taught me against him. Not like I’m wrong. I don't understand how that cat-like grace ever fell for such a prick like him… it's literally like a bird and a bee dating. Gato struggles to kill the Lost, hesitations perhaps? She's more so avoiding the attacks then fully countering it.
“If you seriously can't fucking get over me then you can go fuck youself and get a train ride back. Useless.”
She winces in anger but that leads to the Lost piercing her shoulder with a sharp strike attack. Gato grunts in pain as she falls back and the Lost lunges at her.
I instinctively jump between them.
I was pierced through my chest, likely exploding my heart, I coughed up blood and yelled in pain.
“Prim!”
Gato yelled at me as Yuki crossed his arms and stared.
“Stop hesitating, I can… help you.”
What am I saying? Why am I helping her? I don't want friends. I need to focus on my memories. But I can't take back what I've said. Strangely enough Gato immediately knocked the Lost to the ground and came straight to my support.
“Idiot! We don't know the extent of your regeneration. What if your heart getting destroyed negates it??”
I just kept coughing as she laid my head on her lap, Yuki spits on the Lost and clenches his fists to finish the job. Gato looked so concerned for me again. What is this feeling? I feel wanted. I’ll never forget this. I slowly closed my eyes as I never felt so comfortable in my short existence, not even in that comfy couch back at the lounge.
I phased in and out of consciousness as I hear Yuki and Gato arguing, I couldn't bother to care what it was for… my current state is so relaxing I could sleep forever but Yuki suddenly forces me up.
“Get up now. You've fully healed so I don't need two useless bodies doing nothing on my team.”
Gato gets up too.
“You really were reckless there. Don't be next time.”
As Yuki’s commands echoed the train continued as normal, yet it wasn't normal. The people never returned nor did the seats.
The door to the car in front of us opened and a very short but muscular shirtless man in cargo pants entered.
“So you guys are the others.”
We all took a stance. The number 9 was tattooed on his chest. A Purgatory member stood in front of us. Gato without hesitation transformed fully into Nekomata. The shadows around us began to close in. Suddenly Yuki yelled that he couldn't move and in response Nekomata clung to the ceiling of the train. The man walked closer to Yuki who stood a few feet in front of us.
“Celeste was quite the hassle but now that he's been dealt with I’ll clean this entire ghost train with you three.”
He began to relentlessly beat Yuki.
