Silver covers Jin with his coat, and closely examines the damage done. Luckily it seems Orion didn’t mark him, so Thorne might not even notice. The two bite marks on his neck are already almost healed, this is faster than a regular prey would heal, and silver can guess why. He carefully wipes the rest of the dried-up blood on Jin’s neck. It’s just a few drops luckily.
‘So, now explain yourselves.’
Natasha speaks up first. ‘I’m sorry I didn’t stop him, I thought he was just joking around for a bit, I didn’t expect him to actually bite him. I never thought he’d have the guts.’
There is a silence. Then Orion who can’t meet Silver’s eyes also says something. ‘I’m so sorry. I just thought I could feed a little, since Thorne doesn’t seem to see him as a blood pack. He had a little of Thorne’s mark though, but it was so faded I didn’t think he would mind…’
Silver glares at him. ‘I already guessed Thorne doesn’t do anything to him after what happened. But he does care about him quite a lot it seems, so he wouldn’t be happy about anyone using him as food either. You even said you could faintly feel Thorne’s mark! Who touches the prey of someone else this casually?!’
Orion is almost at the point of crying now. Out of their group of friends, he’s clearly the weakest. Thorne on the other hand, is clearly the strongest. Indeed, what was he thinking. Even if he didn’t care about Jin, it would probably be like invading his territory. ‘I’m so sorry’ He mumbles. ‘Thorne wouldn’t actually kill me, would he?’
Silver scratches the back of his head. ‘Well, I guess it’s my fault for coming here with him. Thorne even warned me… Also, Thorne wouldn’t kill you I think, but this is the first time he’s staying with someone, so who knows how he’ll react. Just hope he won’t notice your stupid actions, then I won’t tell him either. Also you’re lucky Jin doesn’t believe in something like us, if you made Jin realize we’re not human, then I might have had to kill you myself.’
Soon, Silver takes Jin into his arms, and brings him to a taxi. He takes Jin to his own house and lets him stay the night there. He also sends a message to Thorne explaining he will bring Jin back in the morning.
That night Jin dreams the same dream as every night. Only this time he remembers even more than before. After he finished all negotiations and work with TE company, he got sent to another branch, seemingly in a smaller village to look around. He borrowed a car somewhere for a few days and decided to take a look at the branch someone told him about. To get there, he had to go through some mountains. Unfortunately, Jin took a wrong turn somewhere and on top of that the borrowed car stopped working in the middle of nowhere. After trying to call someone for help, but having no signal, Jin saw a silhouette of a person appear. All he can see is that it’s a tall slender figure, then he wakes up again.
When Jin opens his eyes, he’s in an unfamiliar bed. He quickly remembers what happened last night. He was drinking with some of Silver’s friends, questioned what one of them called Cassius was doing, then drank something strong and almost passed out. Silver came in, scolded another guy, and then took him home. Nothing too weird.
He also wonders whether the alcohol helped him remember more things. This time he even remembered a figure. He guesses the figure in his dream is the person that caused his situation.
Soon enough, Jin will know the truth.
He gets up, and dresses himself in some clothes Silver prepared. They’re a different style than Thorne usually gives him. The pants look like they’d belong under the techno category. There is also a beige hoodie that is slightly too big for Jin.
After getting dressed, Jin walks out of the bedroom he slept in. He soon finds Silver in what seems to be the living room.
‘Good morning! Did you sleep alright? Do you feel unwell anywhere?’
‘No I’m fine, I slept decently. I have a little neck pain, but it’ll go away soon.’
‘Okay, good to hear. Here, I made you breakfast, take it with you. I’ll drive you back to Thorne’s mansion, he must be worried by now.’
Jin nods and follows Silver to his car. It’s less nice than Thorne’s, but it doesn’t look too bad either. He quickly gets in.
The ride takes a little over an hour and they don’t talk much during it, since Jin is still a little tired. Soon they arrive at the familiar mansion in the middle of nowhere.
Jin gets out, and Silver gets out with him. ‘Let’s go.’ They knock on the door, and very quickly the door opens. Jin sees Thorne standing inside. Somehow, he looks a little tired.
‘Welcome back. Come inside, Jin.’ Even though his expression is as blank as ever, it feels like he isn’t exactly happy, so Jin quickly gets inside. Silver is also about to step inside, but Thorne stops him. ‘No. I’m glad you brought him back, I’m sure you need to get back home now.’ The look in his eyes is threatening. ‘Wait, just for a bit… I can explain.’
‘No need, I’ll call you later. We can meet tomorrow.’
‘A-alright. Bye.’ With that he walks of to his car, and Thorne slams the door shut.
‘So did you have fun?’ The cold look in his eyes doesn’t fade even when he looks at Jin, but he tries not to sound as annoyed.
