‘I did have fun, you should come with us next time.’ Thorne frowns and walks to the living room and Jin follows him. ‘No thanks, I don’t really enjoy going out. So, what did you do?’
‘We strolled around the city for a bit, we went to see a movie, and then we had a few drinks with a couple of Silvers friends.’
Thorne steps closer to Jin, and Jin feels slightly intimidated. Thorne looks at him for what seems like quite a long time, till he steps away and turns around. ‘Glad you had fun. I probably won’t be home much for the next few days, so you’ll just have to entertain yourself. I’ll still prepare you meals and such, and you can eat or drink anything that you find lying around. I’ll write down anything else I might think of. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to finish some work.’
Before Jin gets the chance to say anything, Thorne is already gone. But even now, Jin feels like Thorne doesn’t show any emotion. Even though it seemed he wasn’t pleased about something, he kept his calm face and spoke as coldly as always. Can’t he just show some emotion? Or does he really not care about Jin at all. Jin also walks away and shuts himself for the rest of the day. For some reason he feels a little awkward, so he doesn’t know how to face Thorne later at dinner. Maybe he should just apologize for anything he could have done wrong.
That evening, they don’t eat dinner together. When Jin comes down to eat, past the usual time, there is only a plate of lukewarm soup, and Thorne is nowhere to be found. Ah, it seems Thorne really isn’t happy about something, either that or he’s really busy. But before even when he was busy, he always wanted to eat together. Without seeing Thorne again that day, Jin goes to sleep.
Once again, he finds himself standing next to a broken-down car, searching for signal. He’s shivering from the cold as he’s been standing there at least for an hour. Soon, once again the tall, slender figure appears. Jin calls out to the person. As the person comes closer, Jin sees it’s a beautiful man with long dark hair and eyes that look like they’re glowing.
Jin wakes up, shaking. Wait. Those dreams were his memories coming back, right? How come Thorne appeared in his memory? Does he have a twin brother? However deep-down Jin is getting a really bad feeling. Was that person really Thorne? If it was, why is Thorne hiding things? No, what is he hiding? If Thorne was the one that found him when he was stranded in this area, what is Thorne’s role in whatever happen afterwards? What is his role in Jin ending up in a body bag?
Jin can’t imagine what could’ve happened. Even though he’s scared of staying if Thorne had a part in his accident, some things don’t add up. If Thorne would’ve been the one to cause everything in the first place, why would he take him in like this, and treat him this well? If Thorne had any plans of really harming Jin or even killing him, there would be literally nothing stopping him from doing so the moment Jin came to the mansion. There would be no reason to take him in and help him out. Also, if he really did do something to him, and Jin told him how he’s slowly remembering everything, he could’ve disposed of him very easily.
Thinking of all this, Jin decides he first needs to remember the rest, but he also decides not to be too scared or distrustful for now, as even though Thorne is definitely hiding something, it seems he doesn’t plan on doing anything harmful to him.
After going over everything, Jin finally calms down and gets out of bed. As expected, he’s alone in the house again. Thorne said he would go out often over the next days, so this probably isn’t the only time he’ll be alone. Jin quickly finishes the food left for him by Thorne and decides to look around the house a bit. Now that he knows something doesn’t add up, there can’t be any harm in looking for some clues on anything in the house. There are only a few rooms Jin hasn’t been to. There is the master bedroom and the attached bathroom, then there seems to be a room besides the kitchen, and there are a few other doors on the ground floor and the first floor. Jin looks around the first floor first.
To his disappointment, but also relief, he doesn’t find anything there. One of the rooms is a huge closet, a few other rooms are guest rooms, and there’s another room that looks sort of like a second living room where you would receive guests. Jin goes on to the ground floor. First he explores the area next to the kitchen. This is a room with a lot of shelves, and it contains mainly cleaning supplies. There also is a washing machine in this room, and laundry hung to dry. When Jin is about to walk out of the room, one of the steps he takes makes a dull sound. It sounds like the ground is hollow there. When he looks down properly, he can see a faint outline of what could be a hatch. Unfortunately, there is a table standing half on top of it, and Jin doesn’t feel like it would be a good idea to move it. He is curious whether there is a big basement and what’s in it, but he can come back to that another time.
Instead, he moves on to the last unlocked room. When he enters it, he is surprised. The other rooms were very common, and quite boring. This room on the other hand, Jin feels like he’s entered a museum. It is a big spacious room, with many different items hanging around. A lot of the items look quite old. There is some old pottery, there are some elegant looking swords, there is some sort of chest in a corner, and many more things. Jin had no idea Thorne was into collecting these kinds of things. Jin looks all around the room and is scared to touch anything. This collection is probably very pricy.
As Jin is about to walk out the room, an item on a table catches his eye, and he wonders why he hadn’t noticed it before. As he gets closer to it, a chill runs down his spine, as he immediately recognizes the object. He picks it up carefully, and his guess is confirmed when he sees his carved initials. Those are his glasses. The glasses he always wore and couldn’t find when he woke up on the hill.
