Chapter 7: The Wedding Part 2
“Sorry I’m back so late.” He told Ryan as he came into his room. It was close to midnight at the time.
“It’s fine.” He patted the bed next to him and Monroe obediently walked over and sat down then leaned up against him. “Seems like you had a nice time, did you guys not argue?”
“Oh, well umm I actually went to see my Uncle Glenn.” He told him.
“I thought your family was being shunned.”
“You are thinking about my mom’s side of the family, no this is my dad’s side of the family.”
“Doesn’t your dad just have a younger sister who is in another state?”
“Yup, but he also has 5 other half siblings, I’m close with Uncle Glenn because his daughter Rebecca is an Omega, we met when my grandfather passed away. They had a big favor to ask of me.”
“Oh… What did he want?”
“Mmmn it’s a bit complicated, but basically he wanted to save Becca from a forced marriage with another family.” He told him. He nuzzled his shoulder sleepily. “She already has someone she loves, she’s going to introduce me to him tomorrow.”
“So he wants you to ruin the wedding?”
“Mmmn yes? My idea is to swap out the grooms, but it’s not going to be easy to turn a rabbit into a gorilla.” He told him.
Ryan looked at him suspiciously. “Roe, what are you planning?”
“Groom swap, clearly, but there might be some other things.” He said vaguely. “Don’t worry we have 65% of a plan worked out, and the best thing is I’m going to screw over Tyler and his family.”
“Are you messing with a Mafia family?” He asked, looking concerned.
“Don’t worry about that.” He told him. “I’m tired and I’m going to have to go suit shopping tomorrow and meet Thomas.” He told him as he stripped his shirt off.
“But I am worried about it Roe, am I at least invited to protect you?”
“Yup, you are my date, and Becca wants to meet you, and don’t you dare fall for her because she’s a prettier version of me.” He said looking at Ryan with all seriousness.
“Roe, you are the only bunny I love, to me no one is more handsome as you.” He said, kissing his forehead. He meant it when he said it.
Monroe frowned and pulled out his phone and showed him the picture he and Becca took together after dinner. “Look, see she is prettier than I am.” He pointed out.
Ryan looked and shrugged. “She’s nice but as you pointed out she is taken and I still think you look better than she does.” He told him honestly. “I’m jealous that she gets to take a picture with you and you are all smiles. All my photos you are half asleep or pouting, not that I don’t think your pouting face is adorable.”
“Cause you always ask when I’m tired or I don’t want to.” he pouted.
“You just hate taking your picture with me.”
“That’s not true, I just… I don't think I’m worthy of it.”
“Well you are, my silly rabbit.”
“Trix are for kids.” He giggled, unable to help himself.
Ryan chuckled and kissed him lovingly. “Come now let’s go to sleep, it’s late.” He told him.
“That’s what I was planning to do.” He said standing up and stripping off the rest of his clothes and putting them into the hamper. He pulled on his Pajamas and he crawled into the bed with Ryan and snuggled up to him. “Goodnight my Ry.” He said sleepily as he fell asleep.
Ryan smiled as he put his arms around him and slowly fell asleep. Tomorrow he would talk to him more about his plan and find out why he was messing with a Mafia family. He understood part of it was because it was Tyler’s family and his own but he didn’t get how the two were connected. Then again he didn’t know anything about his father’s half sibling other than his aunt.
The next week went by in a blur, Ryan met his cousin and her real feiance, and then he found out that there was such a thing as the Rabbit mafia, and when Monroe gelled his hair and wore a suit he looked like a young mob boss. He found he liked the look a lot, maybe it was because he was in a suit and it was a wedding it made him think about other things. He really was looking forward to stripping that suit off of him after the wedding, he wouldn’t get the chance to.
The day of the wedding Monroe kept a low profile, it wasn’t hard for him to blend in with the rest of the rabbits that were all there. He had everything planned out, he had already done Thomas’ makeup, prosthetics, and a wig, his uncle had set up the car with cash and ready for a quick getaway. Yet in the oncoming crowd of Gorilla’s Tyler was there and he easily recognised him right off the bat.
“Well, this is a surprise, my little bunny.” He said approaching him. He stopped short as Monroe pulled a gun and then he heard several other audible clicks as several members of the Rabbit group also pulled guns.
“Ahh Tyler, so nice to see you when I’m not working. Not.” He said not moving.
“I didn’t know you were part of this family.” He said, raising his hands and not moving.
“I am, I might be a branch family member, but I’m still family. Normally I wouldn’t come to these kinds of things but I’m rather close to the Bride. Also as you know I’m not one to use a gun on someone, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t know how to. This range here I wouldn’t miss and I hate to have to pay my Uncle for a new rug, but then the joy of having shot you would be a nice bonus and worth it.”
“That would be called murder, or assault on an officer.”
“It would if anyone here cared to report it.” He said motioning to the fact everyone there in the room was a rabbit. “And right now you and your family are very unpopular seeing as your family is blackmailing my family into this marriage.” He told him.
“I get it, I’ll let you be, but had I known you were part of this family maybe we’d be the ones getting married today.” He told him with a smirk.
“Branch family, so most likely not my uncle has no sway over me or my family.” He told him. “Now I suggest you go back over to your side of the room and leave me be. I’m annoyed enough with the fact that this wedding is happening, and the fact that it’s your family and well you exist makes me wish I had known about this more than two days in advance so I could have done something, but that is probably why.” He lied, he put his gun back into it’s holster in his jacket, the other’s slowly followed suit.
“We’ll have to find a way to change that attitude of yours Monroe, perhaps when I do make you mine it will be the first thing I do.” He said backing off. He backed into Ryan who let out a low threatening growl. “Fuck… the dog is with you?” He said not even turning around.
“Yes, because he is my partner.” He said, motioning Ryan to his side. He obeyed walking around Tyler and came to his side. “I choose him over you any time any day.” He told him as he grabbed Ryan’s tie and pulled him down into a kiss. He didn’t know when he huffed off as he preoccupied himself with Ryan’s mouth and tongue, he needed to distract himself from shaking, from the fear of Tyler actually trying to do something, he honestly didn’t want to shoot him, but he would if it came down to it.
“Get a room will you?” James said after a few moments.
“Shuddup.” Monroe snapped at the familiar rabbit, he was still built and handsome but he was off the market and Ryan was right there.
“You alright Roe?” He asked softly as he pressed his forehead against his.
“No, but you are here, so yes.” He admitted.
“Good, everything is ready, I took out the groom and tied him up and tossed him into the trunk of his father’s car.” He said softly as he caressed his face.
“How is the real one doing?” He asked, nuzzling his hand taking in what could be the last bit of his scent. Things were probably going to move quickly from here.
“He’s nervous but he’ll be fine once things start.” He told him.
“Alright, I have to go talk to my uncle, keep an eye on things, and then I’ll see you at the ceremony.” He said kissing him one last time.
“Alright, be good.” He told him as they broke the kiss.
Monroe walked away and looked at James as he walked past him. “Congrats on finally getting married James.” He said with a smile as he headed to his uncle's office. He turned on the wire tap he found by the office door, the FBI had been at the house since the start of the incident, it seemed anyone who was suddenly involved with the Maxwell family. They’d have no clue about what the family really did as they were very low key and mostly legal, plus no one believed in the rabbit mafia.
“Monroe, nice to see you.” Glenn said as he walked into the office. “Ivan is on his way, I still don’t like that we’re being forced to do this cause we accepted one little job.” He said annoyed. “My Omega daughter is being used as a pawn.” He said with a sniffle.
“It will be fine, she can always get a divorce.” He told him as he sat down. “Just make sure she keeps the collar on.” The door opened and in walked a grey haired brown eyes 6’5” barrel chested Gorilla man. This was Tyler’s older brother and the leader of the Gorilla mafia family in the US.
“She’s not divorcing him ever, so put that thought out of your head rabbit.” He said with a thick accent. “My Son knows she is his mate and they will stay together.” He told him. He looked at Monroe slowly up and down. “And you, you are my brother’s mate, you should just give in to him and make him many children like good Omega bitch.” He said pointing his finger at him.
“I’m a Rabbit not a dog.” He snarled.
“Now, now, this is still my daughter’s wedding, I don’t want to have to clean up any blood. What I want to know is how are you going to make these charges against my company disappear.” He asked Ivan.
“Easy, after the wedding I give word to my man in the police station and all the evidence vanishes. No evidence, no case.” He said simply. He took a seat on one of the couches in the room making himself comfortable as if he already owned the place. Monroe frowned because he didn't like the big ape.
“How is he going to make all of those gun’s just vanish?” Monroe asked. “It was a lot of guns, two cases of assault rifles and at least ten to twenty handguns. Where are they all going to go?”
“What does it matter to you little rabbit?” He asked.
“I was helping my uncle with this as a favor, not that we knew 100% what was in them, but, if he is getting into trouble then so am I.” He lied.
“Well, you marry Tyler I, make sure you don’t get reported as well.”
“No, I haven’t been implicated yet as part of it, but I will if it goes further, that’s why I am here.” He lied again. “If this wedding goes through, you make your call and we go our separate ways.”
“Fine yes, my son Sphen says I do, your Daughter Says I do, they marry and sign paper in front of me I call my man Mitchel and he makes it all disappear in an hour.”
“An hour? How will I know he’s done it and you haven’t lied to me, make me sacrifice my daughter for nothing.” Glenn said annoyed.
“It takes time to get all those weapons out of storage. We will be an even bigger family and I will never lie to my family.” Ivan told him. “If you marry Tyler like a good Omega you will have a rich life, you’ll not need to work, just raise the little ones.” He told Monroe.
“Not a fan of dirty money, this is the last time I am helping.” He told them.
“That’s funny, from what I hear you are always a thieving little rabbit, Tyler will work hard and give you what you need, you have many children with him. Make him happy.” He glanced at his watch. “Wedding will start in ten more minutes, we should get ready. Yes? We’ll talk more later, more about how I make your business better, yes? You’ll run plenty of other dirty deals for us now that we are family.” He said standing.
“I’m not sure I want to run any more business with you, this one deal cost me way too much.” Glenn said solemnly as he walked towards the door. Ivan laughed and slapped him on the back.
“You’re funny, we’ll talk more, we will be family.” He reminded him.
Monroe hid the wiretap on the bookshelf before walking out. He wanted to find Ryan, he wanted to be close to his Alpha, this was all stressing him out. He walked out and saw him down the hallway waiting for him, he ran over to him and put his arms around him.
“You alright?” He asked.
“I am now, I should check in on Becca, will you come with me?” He asked, taking a hold of his hand.
“Of course.” He told him with a soft smile.
He could tell he was anxious and wanted this all to be over, and things were going well, the great groom swap was over, they would sign their certificate and then they would retire to a private room where they were to “Bond” and an hour later they would come out for dinner. He wondered if their own wedding would be like this, though truth be told he was hoping to bond with Monroe the first time after he agreed to marry him that he went into heat. He knew his chances were high for getting pregnant but no one could take his bunny away then. They walked hand in hand to Becca's room hand in hand where she was eating a piece of wedding cake to calm her nerves. Monroe raised an eyebrow at her as he saw her.
“What? I wanted something sweet and it’s not like I’ll get to have it today.” She told him.
“Well it is your cake Becca but, don’t get any on you.” He said with a shrug.
“I’m not, it’s all white anyways.” She pointed out.
“Frosting can still stain.” He told her. “Are you almost ready?” He asked.
“Yes, are we ready? Are we sure this is going to work?” She asked as she leaned over the plate and took several more quick bites.
“Yes, now put the fork down and let me do some touch ups.” He said looking at her makeup.
A few minutes later there was a knock and it was Glenn ready to walk his daughter down the aisle. Monroe left to take his seat with Ryan, he smiled at his handiwork as he saw the groom who looked much like a gorilla he wasn’t, it was hard covering his ears with a wig, thankfully Sphen had long hair and the prosthetic ears looked good enough the rest was special effects makeup that he’d been taught by his mother and Gin’s mother. Ryan held his hand and lovingly rubbed it with his thumb, their fingers entwined and Monroes guilt of what was going to happen soon rose like bile in his throat. Tyler was on the other side of the aisle and he was glaring at Ryan. He had no clue what was going to happen. Monroe was happy when the ceremony was over, no one had noticed the groom swap, Tyler excused himself to go to the office to make the phone call for his brother. The two signed the marriage certificate with their own names and he lifted her up as if she was a prize and carried her off to their private room. Here they would change and remove all of their makeup while the guest drank at the bar and waited for a dinner that wouldn’t come.
“Do you think we could dance while we wait?” Ryan asked as soft music played.
“I’m too nervous about what is going to happen next.” He told him as they got drinks.
“The hardest part is over.” He told him as he leaned down and kissed his forehead.
“I know but I just worry.” He lied as if he knew the hardest part was over. He was sure that the hardest part was going to be the next few months he spent in jail away from him.
