(Gamer's Pov)
"Gamer, time to get up" Rochelle's harsh voice said as I listened to her heels walk across the room to the window before a harsh ray of Hell's sunlight hit my face. I buried my head deep into the blankets "Your sin is envy, not sloth" Rochelle said as she pulled the blankets off me "Okay okay... what time is it?" "Eight in the morning now get up, dressed and downstairs, you're late for your lesson" Rochelle growled before walking out of my room. I tiredly sat up, wiping the sleep from my eyes... this is the third week we've been at Enrith Castle, the royals thought it would be a good idea if they extended our stay to a day before school starts back up... school, oh how much I miss seeing that place or waking up to the quiet early mornings with Virus snuggled into my pillow. I left my pet shade, Virus, back at EU... Isra is kindly looking after them only because last minute, I worried about how the royals, councilors or at least Aristomache who react to finding out this whole time I've secretly been keeping a pet that I shouldn't have had in the first place. I got up and threw on a t-shirt, jeans, sneakers and my black hoodie before walking out of my room and down the hallway, poorly fixing my hair as I walked down the stairs. Once on the bottom floor, I walked down a hallway into the kitchen to see Dark and Death talking "Finally dragged your ass out of bed?" Dark smirked "How can you tell-" "You've forgotten to put on the black eyeshadow" Dark answered as Death held back a laugh. "I'll care about that later" I droned as Rochelle walked into the room "Gamer, Shyama's waiting for you- what are you doing in here?" I picked up one of the muffins off the island and tiredly waved it in the air "It's called breakfast" I answered as Rochelle rolled her eyes before turning to Death "Death, you ready?" "Yeah" Death answered. "Where are you going?" I asked "Old training grounds for torture demons" Rochelle answered before her and Death walked out of the room.
"Why does he get to go to a cool place?" I groaned as Dark laughed a bit "Be glad that you're leaving the castle today" he told me "What are the others doing?" "Akire's stuck learning stuff in the library, Anti and Skyler are doing some joined meditation thing with their councilors, I'm gonna be with Khorshid running errands all day and Angel-" "Is outside training with Issac" I finished Dark's sentence as I looked out the kitchen window at the scene of Issac teaching Angel some 'tricks' with her scythe. "Well guess I should go then" I signed, taking a bite out of my muffin as I walked out of the room, down the hallway into the main room/entrance of the castle. I walked out the front door and down the stairs to Shyama who was standing by a black car. She smiled at me "You ready to go?" she asked "Yes?" I answered "Here, you're gonna need this if you're going out" Shyama said as she handed me the white mask I got at the councilor ceremony "People can't see your actual face, you are known for wearing your masks" Shyama explained before gesturing to the car. We got into the car, Shyama started the engine and drove out of the driveway, the castle gates opening and closing behind us "Where are we going?" I asked, putting on the white mask "Now that's a surprise" Shyama answered with a smile.
One Hour Later...
It took us a while to get to the Eclipse Region yet we made it. Shyama parked the car, getting out while motioning me to follow her. I got out of the car and looked at the building- the Eclipse Temple? "Shyama, why are we here?" I asked as we walked towards the entrance of the temple "As Black Councilor, you now have the right to be inside the temple" Shyama answered, walking through the front door as I hesitantly followed in behind her. We walked down the hall to the altar where Aristomache stood "Good, you're here" the queen smiled a bit "Sorry, but I'm still a little confused about why we're here" I told them "Well that's easy, this is just a little 'history' lesson before you can explore the temple yourself" Aristomache explained, yet I felt something... off. "For a long time, people believed and still believe that the temples are the places of worship of the ancient royals of Hell" Aristomache started, looking up at the mural of the first Eclipse princess "But what people don't know is that these temples were created by the guardians of the children, the first Black Councilors". "Some stories say that the magic of both the royal and councilor keeps the temples alive" Shyama chimed in "Some also say that only a powerful councilor can see the secrets within the temple" the councilor added as she leaned against the altar. "Also-" "Pardon my intrusion, ladies..." I froze up at the voice "I need to finish a conversation with Gamer" I turned my head to see Michael standing at the other end of the temple "Michael-" "You were given no such permission to speak to him nor be in this sanctuary" Aristomache harshly snapped at the archangel yet he did not move. "I'm very sorry, really but I must speak with Gamer-" I shadow walked over to the other side of the temple so I was standing in front of Michael "What? What else do you have to add to your list of ways to piss me off?" I asked, anger twisted within my words.
"I thought you wanted to know the truth?" "Heaven isn't what I had in mind-" "To know the truth about yourself and Heaven, you must come back to Heaven" Michael interrupted with the most stupidest excuse. "You are so much more special then you think-" "I'm not falling for those lies again" I snapped at the archangel yet he still kept the calm... gentle expression on his face and in his eyes... it seemed as though he had been stabbed "I'm... not lying Gamer, not anymore-" "You sure about that?". I glared up at him as both Aristomache and Shyama stayed dead silent "Then why are you withholding the truth from me- why do I have to be in Heaven in order to at least hear a small snippet of it?" I questioned him "All truth of Heaven and its celestials must be told within Heaven's gates" Michael answered. "I'm sorry Gamer, but I'm just simply following rules" Michael told me, taking a step towards me yet I just took couple steps away from him, he signed "You need to come home-" "I am home!" I snapped, Aristomache went to walk over to us yet Shyama stopped her, whispering "This is his battle and his alone". "Gamer, please... Heaven needs you back where you belong" Michael stated "I belong here-" "No, you don't... you never belonged here, never have and never will" and there we go, Michael is now finally starting to lose his cool, his 'mask of calm' has finally cracked and fallen to the ground. "You are an angel of God, of Heaven... of the Morning Wing-" "I'm a Young Black Councilor of Hell" I darely interrupted "I'm a demon of the Eclipse Wing... I'm not an angel" I told him harshly before turning my back to him, facing the temple's altar.
I started walking back towards Shyama and Aristomache "I thought you wanted to truth" I continued to walk, back still turned to the annoying archangel "I don't want to anymore... not if it means returning to that hell-hole" "Please little brother" Michael sort of begged as I came to a dead stop. Anger got the best of me "I'm not your little brother, Michael-" "Please starlight" I froze up, eyes growing wide... in an instant, old memories flooded through my head yet it didn't distracted "Gamer-" "No" I answered, keeping my head to the ground, refusing to look at anyone, especially Michael. "Gamer, please-" "That's my answer, Michael..." I told him, hands balled up into fists with my blunt nails digging into the palms of my hands "I'm not going back to the silver-city..." I said, closing my eyes as if trying to hold something back "You can't hide from who you are, Gamer-" "Just leave, Michael!" I snapped. After a few seconds, I heard a sign of defeat come from Michael, his footsteps travelling back towards the front door of the temple... he stopped "May the Light guide you out of the dark-" "May the dark keep me as far away from your stupid light" I spat, soon hearing the archangel's fading steps leading down the stairs towards the road. I walked back over to Shyama and Aristomache "Are you alright, Gamer?" Aristomache asked "Yeah- Michael is an angel of lies and manipulation... he just wants me, the... old me, back in his eyesight" I angrily signed "He has to get over it..." "Well still, that was very brave and bold of you, facing Michael like that" Aristomache gently smiled. "Why did he say 'starlight'? why did that get an awful reaction from you?" Shyama asked with a worried voice as I finally opened my eyes, pain and hurt hidden behind a false expressionless mask "...it's an old nickname".
