“—Hic! Our Queen, hic*, is dead.”
Everyone went silent. Their leader, who houses five hundred elite astral ability users and the strongest pillar of the organization ‘The Macht’ has perished. Losing a member is one thing but losing a captain is another matter. Without a commander, all soldiers will scatter.
“Stop your ugly sobbing Naya, the situation is already devastating. Hearing your sobs is making it worse.” Eira spat while glaring at Naya’s direction. “Why are you so mean…” Naya uttered in between her sobs.
“Look, I wanna stop your stupid arguing,” Redrianna paused and pointed at the two ladies “but right now, we have urgent matters to attend to.” She resumed. “Hmm? What’s that important agenda that we had to set aside mourning our leader’s death?” Arius asked in curiosity.
“The throne.” She earned their attention after her remark and Eira whistled in excitement while Naya promptly stopped her sobbing. “Of course, the throne! Why did I forget that golden treasure?” Eira mused, left her seat and went to the empty crystal chair beside Naya and rested her chin on its top rail. “This place shouldn’t be left empty.” She uttered and she earned a glare from Naya.
“Get away from it, you psycho!” Naya yelled and several balls of flames formed behind her, ready to shoot in Eira's direction. “Oho? So the Princess wants to play, come here I'll give you the attention you want so badly.” Eira retorted as her body began to glow. “Ah shit, here we go again.” Arius mumbled while facepalming.
“You wouldn’t want me to get involved in your dog fight. That’s enough.” Redrianna reprimanded with a vein popping out of her temples due to stress. The two who was about to go feral cancelled their Astrals and went back to their own seats as if nothing ever happened. This gave Arius a big relief since he wouldn't be bombarded with accounts about the place being destroyed.
“Ehem, as I was saying, we have to keep this matter a secret. Macht has many enemies and with our numbers, we won’t be able to fend off if they decide to attack all at once when they hear about this unfortunate news.” Redrianna explained to the core members. “Considering how many people our leader has crushed, well, it is safe to say that we are still viewed as one of the top organizations. That’s because of our leader’s existence. Imagine how vulnerable we are right now, this group that our leader has built up for many years will crumble in a single day if news gets out.” She continued and earned a few nods.
“Then, why don’t we announce that our leader is appointing a new Queen?” The suggestion that came from Naya made them frozen for a bit. Just the idea itself was so hilarious that even their dead leader would come out of the grave and spit blood. “Denied. The appointed person should be as strong as her, or maybe stronger.” Arius answered while thinking about the monstrous strength that their late leader holds.
“But why?! It decreases the chances of sudden collisions with other organizations and small groups--” “No. Changing leaders will be interpreted as our late leader growing weaker. This will build many speculations.” Redrianna cut off Naya’s reasoning with a logical explanation. “But the Macht being a Queenless organization is just--” Naya didn’t get to finish her sentence because of Eira’s loud slamming of her fist in the table.
“Reason this, reason that, what the actual fuck do you want? Do you not hear their logical and rational explanation?? Do you want the throne so badly, huh? Then just go ahead and fucking sit on it you bitch!” Eira bursted out while gnawing her teeth in anger and Naya was taken aback by her sudden outburst. “But Eira, I’m doing this for the good of the organization and--”
“Naya, shut up will you?” His cold voice made the bickering stop. Cello stood up on his seat with a menacing aura. It was as if he just heard the most bullshit idea ever in his life and gave Naya a warning glare. “No one’s gonna replace our leader. She is irreplaceable. This discussion ends here.” He announced before going out of the conference room, leaving the other four stupefied.
