Today at the river walk I saw a lake monster scrounging around with the fish. I usually call it "The nightly isolated slug" or 'This' for short. This usually never comes out of my dreams and it's nearly impossible to see them out in the day. This sits in ponds in a curled up sitting position. They were shaped almost like a human, had pail green skails, and a straw hat that almost covers their navy-ish blue hair, the only other thing they're wearing was red swimming trunks. It's a very obnoxious red that didn't match them and their straw hat.
I sat next to them for a while observing the people that feed the fish. Sometimes dukes would stroll by and eat the bread left in the water. I could understand why This would sit in the lake observing what happens, but at the same time, I couldn't. This wasn't exactly looking at the people, fishes, or ducks, This was staring at a single pole across the lake, their eyes petrified as if they were staring at a ghost which is humorous to me so I chuckled. After my little laugh, I got curious at what he was so scared of and started squinting my eyes trying to see what they could see.
My eyes started to strain after a while and I began to give up and walked across the bridge, which I could have done from the start, but I was a bit too lazy to. When I got to the light pole I squinted again, but still couldn't see anything. Maybe what they were staring at left before I could get here. I turned to look at This and waved, to say that I've trayed. After my wave, they disappeared without saying bye, maybe there thought I was saying bye first. It's not often I see dreams disappear in front of my eyes. I'm just glad we got the chance to observe the fish together even if it's just one time. I smiled at the spot where they once sat and asked if we could observe the river again one day.
Sometimes when walking past the river I'd reminisce on the good times we I had. I wonder if this is in the afterlife or something still staring with a scared look. I've even recently noticed that I catch myself staring at that light pole when I have a walk past the river.
Fuun has been living with nightmares his entire life. Normally, dreams happen and then pass by without a second thought; Fuun's dreams creep into his everyday life and stay until they slowly resolve. These creatures of Fuun's dreams are a mystery to him and those around him.
