It was the moment of preparation for months for this single moment. The doors opened and the music flowed out like a wave. Taras took his first steps into the room, there were people everywhere standing watching them pass by. The gown flowing around him like the soothing swish of a wave on the beach. He could barely see the flowers from behind the vaile. His steps were even and careful up ahead he could see figures. His breaths are shallow; he knows he cannot run. This has to happen. At the altar the ceremony proceeds without a hitch.
“You may not kiss the bride” William lifts the vaile and stares deep into Taras soul the kindness behind his eyes, and the smile on his face of absolute happiness he leans in and Taras accepts. William is gentle and loving. The two turn to the crowd and wave as they leave the hall. Once outside Taras is rushed away by the ladies in waiting. Leaving William there staring after him in awe watching as the one they had just married is pulled away from their embrace.

“I am married… I just got MARRIED!!! Sandra, how did I do this? It’s a blur.” Taras sits down in the closest chair and just sits. The events of the day unfurling in their brain.
“Yes, and it is time for you to change so you won't be late!” Sandra pulls out a beautiful dark red gown. Taras had seen this gown many times before but was always amazed by its beauty.
“Let's get to it, you don’t want to be late to your reception.” Sandra pulls Taras to his feet and guides him to the cover draping the dress over it.
“It is such a beautiful dress, I’m happy to wear it, I’m happy to have this time with you Sandra, though I am sad to be hurting such a kind man as William.” As he pulls the silky soft dress over himself he can feel everything. It glided elegantly around his body showing off their curves and he admired himself in the mirror, slightly not believing this was him.
“It is you, it is a part of you, you always love Evelyn’s gowns trying them on while your parents were out. You look beautiful, my prince.” Taras pulls Sandra into a giant hug thankful for her support, she had always been there for him and she was the one who he would trust with his life even more than some of the knights.
“Thank you Sandra, c’mon let's go and have some fun at the party, it is my wedding day afterall.”
