The hall is filled with music and laughter as Taras enters those close by look on as he walks towards William standing in the middle of a group of men. As soon as he sees him his smile widens and his eyes soften. He rushes forward taking Taras’s hand.
“You look lovely my dear.” he says quietly. The music changes and a beautiful song plays. William looks into his eyes and says.
“May I have this dance?”
“Yes you may” Taras lets William lead him to the middle of the room twirling as if intertwined in each other. The song flows through his heart as he looks deeply into Williams eyes. Seeing love in his eyes and nothing more. William guides through the room twirling in tune with the music pulling Taras closer with every turn. Taras had never felt anything close to this before. The pure euphoria of being in Williams arms ran through their body making his heart beat faster and his face redden. Smiling wildly the only thing that matters was the other. The song ended and so did the dance, reality sank back in and Taras hugged William tightly before letting go to greet guests. Friends of his Mother came to congratulate him, obviously not seeing that he was in fact Taras and not Evelyn. Getting rescued by William as they began to ask about children.
“My parents have asked to speak to you” Taras nodded and followed William, thinking about what he was going to say to them, hoping that they wouldn't figure him out.
“Ah Evelyn it is lovely to see you again, I apologize for Ava not being able to show up because she has become ill.” Taras nods deeply.
“I understand and I wish for her quick recovery. It is lovely to see the both of you again, It has been so long.” Taras smiled trying to hide his nervousness. The King and Queen of Nayea have grey hair and sunken eyes. They have the nicest smiles but they also have a bad gambling habit which is why their kingdom is in debt, and taxing their people so heavily. Having to know what was going on in every kingdom is something his mother had taught him was something important, knowing everything that you are getting into. This marriage is only happening because it benefits both kingdoms of course. What we get is power and love. A kingdom whose Queen is loved by all and is loved by the neighboring kingdom will let them be sided with in any event. Taras’s mother had thought this through completely and totally.
“Oh dear, we cannot wait till you come and meet our people; they will fall for you just as William has.” Taras smiled sweetly.
“It would be my honor” before more could take place Taras is rushed away to speak once more with the nobles and their families.
