It had been a week since Huang Mao brought Xiao Hei back to his home. He had developed a routine everyday where he would cook a whole day supply of fish for his cat before he went to work from morning to night.

"Meow!"

And it seemed that Xiao Hei had gotten more arrogant and demanding day by day.

Huang Mao sighed and placed the plate with two fried fishes on the table. He stared hard at the small little thing.

"How come you are so small and yet, you eat like a pig..." Huang Mao muttered to himself as he offered the plate with fried fishes.

As if it understood, Xiao Hei swiped at Huang Mao's hand and hissed at him.

Surprised, Huang Mao retracted his hand and chided the little cat. "Why did you get angry so suddenly?"

Xiao Hei hissed, "Meow!"

"I don't know what make you angry but eat this fish or I'll make you eat the processed cat food," Huang Mao threatened his cat. He was sure the cat didn't understand what he said but which owner never talked like this to their pet?

Xiao Hei grumbled in its cat's language before it pounced on the fishes and ate. Even if the cat was angry, it still ate the fish with... Elegance?

Huang Mao shook his head. He might have gone crazy. Why would he associate elegant eating with a cat?

"Xiao Hei ah, you eat and take care of this house. I'll work hard to find money to buy you more fishes."

After making sure that everything for his black cat was ready, Huang Mao finally left this old apartment to go to work.

As soon as those footsteps were gone, the small black cat disappeared and being replaced with a handsome man with long black hair.

The man picked the fried fish with his fingers and ate it slowly. He went to the kitchen and went to take the bowl of milk Huang Mao had prepared for him.

He drank a little bit and licked his lower lip.

Afterward, he walked to the only bed inside the room and sat down, starting to meditate. He put both of his palms in front of him and stared.

He waited for a while and nothing happened.

He sighed. It seemed he had lost most of his power. Well, it was still considered good since he didn't lost his god bead. If he was to lose his god bead, then...

The black cat turned human narrowed his dark eyes. There was rage inside those black orbs. The devil was too strong but he had managed to injure him. Comparing to his injury, the devil suffered a lot of injuries and he had managed to destroy his devil core.

Even if the devil didn't die at the time, he would die slowly because Li Wei Qiang had destroyed the most important thing for a devil, the core. Without it, the devil wouldn't live long.

Li Wei Qiang crackled his fingers and sparks of fire were there before it disappeared.

He sighed. It would take a while before his power recovered. Even if he was a god, that didn't mean he was invincible.

He was a cat god.

And he existed to protect the household of humans. His name was Li Wei Qiang but humans known him by a name, Li Shou[1].

They worshipped him for protecting their crops from being eaten by mice and rats.

But now, the modern world had slowly forgotten his existence. After all, people no longer believed in the existence of the gods and there were many technology to help them protect their farms and crops.

But even if he was being forgotten, Li Wei Qiang couldn't stop himself from helping humans.

He might not be able to help them chased mice or rats but he could help protected them when there was evil being.

As people began to forgot about the existence of god, they also didn't believe in the existence of evil.

But, here, existing with the humans were the evils and a small amount of gods.

"!!!"

Li Wei Qiang suddenly stood. His narrowed phoenix eyes stared at the window. The day had turned into night when he was meditating and it was dark outside.

This feeling...

It was a familiar feeling of evil.

Before Huang Mao went out to work, Li Wei Qiang had put a protective and tracking talisman on him. If anything evil trying to hurt him, he would be able to sense it.

Li Wei Qiang did this because Huang Mao was his benefactor. That human had saved him and even provided him a place to recuperate.

So, this was his way of thanking the human for rescuing him.

Li Wei Qiang didn't tally long, he immediately changed back into his cat form and jumped down from the window of the second floor.

It landed expertly on the road below and ran to the direction of its power pulling it.

It was dark everywhere and the small black cat stopped at the building. It stared at the building in front of it. It paid special attention at the back door. While, it doing so, it hid behind the dark shadow under the building.

It waited.

A few minutes later, Huang Mao walked out of the back door in his cheap jacket and lose jeans. Behind him was an old backpack.

The youth looked carefree as he strolled at the familiar street. He didn't realise a small black cat was following him from behind while the cat preyed a strange man that was stalking him.

The black cat narrowed its eyes at the strange man who stalked its benefactor. It could feel the evil qi from the man. However, the cat god couldn't do anything not until the man acted.

So, preying behind the man, it kept with its steps until they passed the street where there was no street lamp light.

He saw how the man grinned and saw how his stupid benefactor was still unaware of that person's bad intention.

The man pulled out some clothes which he soaked with an unknown liquid and approached Huang Mao from behind.

Before the man could do anything to Huang Mao, Li Wei Qiang changed to his human form and attacked the human that was controlled by the evil qi.

He knocked the human unconscious and his dark eyes saw a black miasma was trying to run.

A small fish, it seemed.

Using his hand, he caught the black miasma and crushed it in his hand. Even if he had lost most of his power, but for an ordinary evil qi, Li Wei Qiang could still easily crush them.

After making sure the evil qi vanish, Li Wei Qiang then looked up and saw the confusion and surprise in his stupid benefactor's eyes. He narrowed his eyes, "this man was trying to do something to you." He then pointed at the clothe and bottle of liquid on the road.

"Um... Thank you for saving me."

"No need to thank me. I'll escort you until you arrive home." Li Wei Qiang said uninterested and began walking at front, not waiting his human benefactor.

Huang Mao widened his eyes in confusion, "Ah?" Escort him? Why??
