On the train where memories come and go, I recall that nostalgic scenery. On the tainted window, I see my same old reflection. Our bittersweet old memories are all kept by that bracelet. At that time, I just wanted to convey thoughts that shouldn't have been conveyed.
Aria Pov
"Damn it!"
My head slammed against my wooden desk at school. I couldn't help but let out tears.
'I knew that was going to happen and yet.'
"Are you okay?" A small fragile hand reached to pat my head. My weak body told me to sit up, but the only part that did move was my head. I turned to face the figure in front of me. Her eyes were enchanting and paralyzing. They were the most beautiful orbs I had laid my eyes upon, yet they seemed tired and weak. "Is something wrong?" She asked rephrasing her question.
'Is it really okay for me to spill out my feelings to others?' I questioned whether or not to burden her with my thoughts and feelings.
I quickly stood up, "Jeff died" 'That would be selfish.'
The horror on my face said it all. I felt the knot in my throat suffocating me. "My D&D character died. Bree killed him, and I knew she was going to try killing him, but I wanted to prove her wrong." 'I've lied'
The classroom door suddenly opened to reveal Bree. "You," I pointed my finger at her. "How could you?" Tears streamed down my face. "I apologize Ms. Fujii." Bree took my arm and started to drag me out the door. Without arguing I looked at Ms. Fujii as she waved goodbye. That was the first time I met her. It was a quiet and empty day with two people who had stories to tell.
"Let's walk home together Ari." Bree took my hand and smiled brightly as she said my nickname. That nickname was my weak spot, and she knew it well. I couldn't stay mad at her for long. "Okay"
The scenery while walking towards my house was beautiful. There were many mountains and trees we passed through, as the sun started to set. The bright orange pinkish sky blinded me. Bree was looking at her phone while walking by my side and I walked backward. "Bree, will we be okay no matter how the future will look like?"
Before Bree could answer my question, my back felt something hard bump against it. I turned around and my eyes widen as I saw a pair of deep navy-blue eyes from a boy. A man and a boy were in front of us. I couldn't stop staring until Bree lightly punched me. I looked down at the floor.
"I'm so sorry!"
"It's okay." The man said with a wide smile that was like the sun on a summer day. The younger one looked at me with sad eyes. His expression became darker as a ringing noise came from the man's pocket. The man took out his phone and read a text. His eyes brighten and shimmer with happiness.
"Well, we need to go." The man stated as they both ran off. "Imagen if you broke his phone" Bree slapped my back as she said that. "Well let's go!" Bree started to walk faster. Probably because it became darker or because of the embarrassment we both experienced. I looked back onto the ground and noticed a red bracelet with a bell.
'It's cute.' I picked it up and placed it in my pocket.
