Chapter 11
Danby Delights - Part One
Magnus had never been to a hot spring before. Oh, but he had read about them in stories, where all sorts of delightfully wicked things happened. He took another puff off of his pipe and blew the smoke out the window. As he watched the countryside roll by, he hoped he would be able to buy more weed in Danby. He really preferred it to alcohol. As the weed took effect, his thoughts roamed through scenes from those stories. In his mind’s eye he switched the characters to himself, with Francois and Klaus as the love objects. In his story, he was the one calling the shots, his lovers eagerly dancing to his tune as he played out his fantasies. In his story...
“Magnus, are you okay?” Francois asked, noticing Magnus staring out the window with an odd, sideways grin. He didn't think Magnus heard anything he and Klaus had been discussing for last several miles.
“Yes...yes, I'm good,” Magnus answered, cocking his head to one side and smiling sweetly.
Klaus chuckled. He knew when Magnus was loaded there was only two things on his mind, sex and food.
“We're almost to Danby, Magnus,” Klaus said. “As soon as we get settled in our room we're going to go eat. How does that sound?”
“Sounds fucking awesome. Then I'll have you two for dessert. How does that sound?”
Magnus licked his lips and leaned forward. This time, Magnus was sitting on the seat by himself, while Francois and Klaus sat across from him, dividing up the reward money.
“I'm sure we'll get to that, Love,” Francois smiled, promisingly. “But we do have a few things to take care of before we, uh, relax.”
Every time Klaus heard Francois call Magnus, Love, he had to resist the urge to punch Francois' lights out. He hated having to share Magnus. But it wasn't his decision to keep Francois with them or not, and he wasn't going to be the bad guy. The worst part of all this for Klaus, was the fact that he was responsible for Magnus being with Francois in the first place. So, for now, he resigned himself to just grit his teeth and bare it.
Leaving the main road, Joseph followed the sign that pointed to Danby. Here, the road started to climb in elevation, winding its way up the grassy hillside and entering the conifer forest. The tall pines and hemlocks quickly grew into a dense cluster of trees, only letting in patches of sunlight here and there. But, after a couple of more miles, the forest gave way to an enormous, cleared area, and a brightly painted sign, stretching across the road, read, 'Danby Hot Springs'.
Danby was not a town, but more of a community, centered around one thing – the lavish hotel that spread along the base of the mountains, and the hot springs it provided. Wispy plumes of steam could be seen dotting the hillside behind the hotel, where hot water bubbled out of the ground, and made it possible to create the many different pools and baths.
First, the carriage passed colorful boarding houses and chalets, with window boxes full of flowers, these were the homes of the workers. Equally colorful flags lined the road up to the hotel. Giddy with excitement, Magnus craned his neck to see out the window, not wanting to miss any part of this magical place. His blue eyes sparkled as they passed more flags lined up in front the hotel entrance. Expertly manicured topiaries, in beds of flowers, followed the curve of the circular drive to the front of the hotel.
“What do you think, Magnus?” Klaus smiled, a twinkle in his eye. It pleased him to see Magnus so excited.
“I think this is fucking awesome,” Magnus laughed.
“This is only the beginning. The best is yet to come,” Francois said, his grin full of promise.
As soon as Joseph stopped the carriage, several uniformed porters, and a tall man in a formal black suit, stepped up to greet them. The man placed a step stool on the ground, and opened the carriage door, waiting for the guys to step down.
“Welcome to Danby, gentlemen,” the man said. His voice was pleasant, and his brown eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. “My name is Thomas, and I will be your personal host during your stay with us. Whatever you need, anything at all, I will ensure that it is provided for you.” Thomas's eyes then went to Francois and the musket case over his shoulder, then to Klaus and Magnus, and the swords on their hips. “We have no rules against weapons, but you won't have any problems here. We have ample security. You will recognize our guards by their badges. Now, whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?”
“I'm pleased to meet you,” Klaus spoke up. “My name is Klaus, this is Francois, and this is Magnus. Our driver is Joseph.”
Francois directed the porters on what to take to their room and what to take to Joseph's room and gave them a tip. At the same time, Klaus explained to Thomas what they wanted in a suite and handed him a generous tip. One of the porters drove the carriage away to the stables, which could not be seen from the hotel being a distance away, probably to keep the smell from encroaching into the guest areas.
“We often have nobility as guests, and on occasion royalty,” Thomas informed them as they walked into the lobby. He was quick to notice the two strong boxes a porter was carrying. “So, you can be assured when I say we have whatever you want, that we do, indeed, have it.”
After Thomas got them registered at the front desk, he led them first to Joseph's room, and made sure he was settled before moving on. He then led them to the two-room suite, where he gave them a tour of the amenities. Before leaving, Thomas explained that he was at their beck and call, regardless of the hour, and they only needed to inform one of the desk clerks and he would come right away. Thomas then left, closing the door behind him.
“Wow!” Magnus exclaimed, thoroughly impressed. “This place must have cost a fucking fortune. I mean, a sitting room and a bedroom, and they both have doors to a private courtyard.” Magnus crossed the sitting room and threw open the double glass doors. The courtyard was enclosed with a rock wall and lined with topiaries and beds of flowers. The ground and the hot pool was paved with blue and green tiles. The tiles around the rim of the pool had different scenes painted on them in bright colors. Magnus could hardly contain his excitement. “Our own private hot spring pool and look how big it is! And we don't even have to use the public toilet facilities. We have our own outdoor privy!” Magnus laughed.
“Yes, it's expensive,” Francois looked around and laughed, as he removed is utility belt, pistols, and musket case. “But I think it's the best way for heroes to spend their reward money.”
“Let's go eat,” Klaus said, and held the door open. “After, I have a surprise for you.”
Magnus couldn't think of anything more surprising than this amazing place, as he followed Klaus and Francois to the dining room.
The dining room was plush, and their superb lunch was served in three courses. They had a host to seat them and fill their water glasses. A different waiter came to take their order, and another waiter to bring the wine and refill empty glasses. Yet another waiter served their food. Magnus ate and watched the constant stream of tips being handed out, thinking no ordinary person would ever be able to afford this place. But when he glanced around the room, he saw nearly all the tables were occupied with people enjoying their lunch - Who knew there were so many damn rich people in the world.
When they were done with lunch, Klaus led them to the east wing of the hotel to show them his surprise. Stunned, Magnus was speechless. The entire wing was filled with exclusive shops. Here they were in this incredible place, with their incredible room and private pool, and Klaus wanted to go shopping?
“Klaus,” Magnus groaned, “You really want to go shopping? Let's go back to the room first and do this later.” All Magnus wanted to do was get it on in the hot pool and live out his fantasies. This wasn't part of his plan.
“Come on, Magnus, this won't take long.” Klaus actually looked at bit hurt. “We need some new clothes.”
“Shit, Magnus, this will be fun,” Francois said, to perk Magnus up. “Besides, who doesn't want new clothes?”
A horny Magnus, that's who doesn't. But, Magnus didn't say any more. It wouldn't have done any good anyway.
At first, they stayed together, wandering from shop to shop, picking out a shirt here, or a pair of pants there. Eventually, they ended up separating to look in different shops, since they all had different taste in clothes. Klaus had spotted something special that he wanted to get for Magnus but wanted it to be a surprise. Now that Magnus was off on his own, Klaus went back to that shop to make his secret purchase. Francois gravitated to a gun shop where he purchased the latest model in pistols. Magnus, on the other hand, found a specialty shop that carried a curious assortment of items. Since he still had dicks-in-the-hot-pool on his mind, he came away with his own little bag of goodies, perfect for tonight.
When they got back to their suite Magnus went straight for the bedroom. Tossing his coat on a chair and kicking off his boots, he laid back on the bed and lit up his pipe. He inhaled deeply and blew the smoke up at the ceiling, thinking about all the erotic things he was going to do to his partners. Just picturing it in his mind made him blush, and the heat in his groin made his dick twitch.
Klaus came in and set his packages on the dressing table. He looked at Magnus and chuckled, knowingly. He took off his coat and pulled off his boots, then laid down on his side, propping his head in his hand.
“Are you thinking about me, Magnus?” Klaus said softly, while caressing the side of Magnus's face, and letting his fingers trail down Magnus's neck.
“Um...you know me so well,” Magnus said, giving Klaus a sideways glance.
There was something in Klaus's look that caught Magnus's attention. He turned his head to face Klaus, and the look was still there. It was different. It went beyond lust into a different kind of desire, almost pleading. In that moment, Magnus felt he saw a part of Klaus he never realized existed. Did Klaus really want him? Not just his body, but him? In that moment the look in Klaus's eye, the smile on his face, pierced Magnus's heart, and Magnus kissed him.
Klaus pulled Magnus to him in a tender embrace, kissing Magnus in such a way that every touch of his lips told Magnus he was precious - and loved more than anything in this world.
“Well, fuck. Are you starting the party without me?” Francois smirked and sat down on the bed hard enough to bounce the other two apart.
And... the moment was lost. It was lost to the point that Magnus wondered if he had imagined it in his weed-induced stupor.
“Asshole,” Klaus grumbled and sat up. “Did you find Thomas?”
“Yes, and he gladly took our list of wants, saying he'll be back shortly.” Francois moved in close to Magnus, who was now sitting up against the headboard. “I ordered something very special,” Francois said, as he started to play with Magnus's curls. “It's called champagne. It's a brand-new bubbly wine from France. The shit's expensive, but I think you'll like it, Magnus.” He kissed Magnus on the cheek, then turned Magnus face to his and planted one on his lips.
“What about the rum, and the pouch I ordered for Magnus?” Klaus asked, trying to keep the irritation out of his voice. He could handle being around Francois in a working situation, but seeing him this close to Magnus was driving him crazy.
“Yes, to both.” Francois broke the kiss just long enough to answer, then went right back to devouring Magnus with his tongue.
All Klaus could think of right now was that bottle of rum.
