For the past few days, Ian has been spending all his time with his new family and he couldn't be any happier.

...but a lot of things have slipped his mind since he was reborn.

He never thought of what a ger was. He never thought of why Ian and Chenyi got married. He never thought about Ian's family. (A/N: It will show later on that when 'Ian' or some pronouns are italicized, it's talking about the previous Ian and not the protagonist)

Granted, during the announcement he only used logic to figure out what to say. Ian disappeared from the public eye for four years, which was Wenduo's age and he assumed that was the reason. Chenyi didn't say otherwise so it must've been correct.

This time, he thought a lot about what Chenyi had said.

Their marriage was only for the reason that Chenyi needed an heir but was never attracted to anyone before him whatsoever.

He also realized that Ian wasn't necessarily a bad person. He searched around the internet and saw that Ian was a workaholic. (It reminded Xie Yan of his own parents making him wince at the thought). He was a person who only lived to work and didn't want anything to do about families. And as a result, Wenduo was neglected by Ian.

The next thing he found out was about 'gers' and the new universe he was in. This new life of his showed that he was in a different place. In his previous life, he was Chinese. Now it seems he was born in the Western regions. But those places weren't here. Instead the countries were called A-Country, C-Country, so on and so forth. Gers seemed to have emerged from the dynasties era. Some emperors had gers for empresses. Gers were males who had feminine features and could bear children. This honestly surprised him, never had he once thought that males could have children. But it seemed like gers were born with a female reproductive system inside their bodies. Yet they didn't have vaginas.

This new life was a blessing. That's what he always thought.

But never did he once think that he would have problems with Ian's parents when he finally had his own family.

His mother came barreling into their home one day.

The maid let her in and the first thing she saw was the small family of three cuddling together on the couch with smiles on their faces watching a movie with snacks on the table.

It's been a while since she's seen her son, the look of a smile on his face made him pause for a bit but the situation made her snap back into reality.

And she was furious!

She dedicated her life to her work, and she thought she raised his son to be the same way. And yet, her son was playing around with his 'new' family instead!

"Cheng Chenyi! I demand you uphold your end of the contract!"
