Oliver's POV ~
Lately life’s been kinda a bust. I guess that’s what happens when your me, Oliver Hernandez. The 15 year old freshman boy whos quiet as fuck and doesn’t talk to anyone. Well that’s except my bestfriend, Koda. He’s always been there for me. 3 years, most can’t count but I can because that’s my friendship. “4 years!” They say, “6 years!” They say as well, but nope it’s only 3. We've always been together. No, not like that. Just bestfriends. Now how I met him? It's been awhile since I've told this story..we were in like 6th grade?
"Hey! Could you pick up the pencil? I dropped it and it rolled under-"
"KODA! Why is it that you are talking?" said Mrs Vixson.
"Sorry ma'am. I just dropped my pencil."
And I gave him back the pencil. Then the guy whispered
"Hey that's super good..how'd you learn how to draw like that?"
I just looked at him and continued to doodle. He kept watching me draw, he seemed fascinated I'm not sure why. All I was drawing was a bear wrapped as a sushi. Nothing special. Then a ruler slammed on his desk.
"PAY ATTENTION KODA!"
Mrs Vixson sighed and said,
"You know I'm only doing this for your own good Koda. I'm sorry Oliver but can you please quit the sketching?"
And so I had to stop drawing because of this doofus who wouldn't fucking pay attention. GOD DAMN IT..I guess it made me pay attention. He then came up to me and said something. I forgot what it was that he said but he said something and all I could think was,
"Who the hell is this guy?"
Not once in my fucking life have I ever talked to him nor did I pay attention to actually learn his name. Sure he sits next to me in like probably 4 of my classes which is weird..BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHO HE IS. So then I said
"Wait- who are you?"
He said,
"I'm Koda! The guy who sits next to you in math, language arts, theatre tech, and science!"
Honestly this guy is absolutely nuts trying to talk to me. Isn't he weirded out I don't talk to anyone? Isn't he afraid he'll lose friends? Turns out he also doesn't have as many friends. Sure he has a few but he didn't talk to them as much. He then kept coming up to me after every class. This happened for 3 years and within that 3 years I started to enjoy his presence and company so I guess it worked out. Now we're freshmen in highschool and he lost most of his friends but he didn't care. Me, however did not lose any. Because I always remained quiet and lonely but all I had was him. And it turns out that's all I need.
