A high pitch scream that could be heard within 2 kilometres filled the empty street of the small neighbourhood. However, despite the loud scream, no one was seen looking for the horrible sound.
As if it was invisible.
In the middle of the dark street, a lone man with hair as dark as the midnight waterfall and a pitch black robes was holding a long sword in his hand. He was staring at the front, where a wisp of black qi slowly dispersed in the darkness of night. He sighed and stared at the sword in his hand.
It was a long silver sword with an obsidian handle and an intricate, complex carving on its blade.
Li Wei Qiang could already summon his sword but it was still weak compared to before. It would still take some time before his full power was back. Irritatedly huffing, he waved his wrist and the glinting sword immediately vanished from the sight.
Just then, he heard the crisp sound of leaves being stepped on and looked back to see a young man in his old jeans and simple white t-shirt.
The man was startled, he couldn't help but pointed his index finger rudely at the person, "it was you, again?"
The man being pointed was not a human, he was actually a cat god, Li Wei Qiang. Human knew him by the name, Li Shou.
Li Wei Qiang stared at the young human and huffed. He asked as if he didn't already know, "going back alone again?"
"Uh-uh..." Huang Mao answered. What was this man doing here late at night? His cat like eyes swept passed the man's body... And again, wearing an ancient costume. "Are you cosplaying again?" was out of his mouth before he realised it.
Li Wei Qiang raised his eyebrows in confusion, "Cos... What?"
Huang Mao quickly shook his head like a rattling drum. "It's nothing! Thanks for helping me before and I'm sorry, I'll be going first!"
"Wait!"
Before he ran in embarrassment, Huang Mao was stopped. He turned back at the black clad handsome man, "...yes? Do you need anything from me?"
Li Wei Qiang walked until he was in front of Huang Mao and stared down at the human, "...I'll send you back." And he already turned around where the direction of Huang Mao's house was. He didn't wait for the human's reply as his dark robes billowed with the night breeze.
"Ah! It's fine..." I can go back by myself.
Huang Mao didn't manage to finish his word when the strange man already followed the familiar path. He stared at that strong, wide back for a while before he sighed in resignation. Well, it was their second time meeting and despite the man's kind intention, Huang Mao felt he was quite arrogant and proud.
Just like Xiao Hei.
Hm... Looked at that man, black hair and black costume, with super arrogant and proud attitude. Huang Mao nodded his head, he really was just like his cat, Xiao Hei.
Well, since the man had been kind enough to accompany him going home. Huang Mao might as well learned about his name and perhaps a little bit of his background. Making up his mind, the simple young man walked until he was side by side with the costumed man.
Only, when he was beside him that Huang Mao realised the man was a head taller than him.
Handsome, tall and strong.
Huang Mao's eyes fell on the man's arm and despite the loose sleeve, he could make out the strong forearm. Without he realised it, his index finger went and prodded at the man's arm.
Li Wei Qiang stopped abruptly, "......"
Huang Mao stopped as well. He looked up only to see the man was looking back down at him. "What's the matter?"
Li Wei Qiang raised an eyebrow, "I want to ask you that. What are you doing?"
Huang Mao blinked in confusion, "...What?"
"Your hand." Those phoenix eyes trailed down to his forearm.
Huang mao followed the man's beautiful eyes and stared at his own treacherous hand. His treacherous hand was still prodding the man's arm. He blanked for a while before he combusted in embarrassment. His hand immediately left the man's arm.
"Ah! I'm sorry! I just think that your arm is strong!"
Puh! What the hell he was saying? Huang Mao felt even more embarrassed now than ever.
However, Li Wei Qiang didn't feel it was wrong. Well, he was an entity even stronger than normal human and of course he was strong. He nodded his head and said offhandedly, "Hm...I've been like this. It's normal for us." The gods. But, he didn't say the rest. There was no need for a mere human to know his identity.
"Oh, oh... then, let's go back," Huang Mao sighed inwardly in relieve. He was embarrassed but fortunately, the man didn't tease him. While walking, Huang Mao remembered that he wanted to know his savior's name. So, looking up, he stared at the man's handsome side profile.
Huang Mao, "You've saved me before and I still don't know your name." He paused and told his name, knowing it was rude to ask for someone's name without telling your name first, "I'm Huang Mao and you can call me Xiao Mao. What's your name?"
Li Wei Qiang was startled because he never had a human asked for his name before. Even during five hundred years back, when he had a little human friend. That 'human friend' would only call him God Li Shou. His given name among the humans.
Seeing the man kept silent, Huang Mao felt nervous. Uh, did he perhaps ask a wrong thing? But, it was just a name ba! "Um... it's okay if you don't feel like telling me your name..."
Li Wei Qiang stopped from reminiscing his past and stared down at this small and weak human. His benefactor. A sudden unknown feeling made it into his heart and a corner of his lips lifted a little.
"My name is Li Wei Qiang."
