Poems of an Overly Caffeinated Teen...

Tears

Tears

Dec 03, 2021

My  eyes  burn,

I've  cried  them  out

I  can't  blink  without

Reminding  myself  of  the

Burdens  and  worries  I

Keep  and  hide  within

I  go  to  bed  hungry,

Starving  for  fellowship,

And  love  from  a  fellow  human

I  feel  loved  in  one  place-

But  no  where  else

Once  I  step  off  the  grounds

Of  my  place,  I  am  alone-

No  one  but  God  to  fall  back  on.

No  one  to  trust  and  love  and

Feel  loved  in  return

So  my  tears  keep  falling

Until  I'm  home-  at  peace

In  my  special  place-

A  sanctuary  where  tears  are

Dried  out  of  love-

Not  hate.
