I  sit  here  waiting,

Crying  silently,

Wishing  for  a  hand  to  hold.

I  need  a  shoulder  to  cry  on,

A  heart  to  reach  out,

Someone  please  come,

While  there  is  still  time  left  on  my  clock.

Is  there  a  heart,

One  that  truly  sees  me  as  a  piece  of  art?

If  so,  where  could  they  be?

I'm  waiting  for  them,

Wishing  I  had  the  strength  to  call  out  to  them.

I  watch  others  as  they  fall  in  love,

But  all  I  do  is  sit  here,

Acting  fine,

When  I'm  deeply  troubled  and  broken.

No  one  seems  to  understand  how  I  really  feel.

I  look  at  you,

I  feel  my  hope  grow,

But when I talk to you,

I  know,

You'll  say  you  need  to  go,

Make  up  an  excuse  just  to  get  away,

From  the  monster  that  everyone  sees,

The  one  I  call  "Me"
