Although my dream was anything but pleasant. I was able to sleep all through the night tonight without being attacked. That should be expected though, human territory beasts and animals are insanely weak.
As I got up, I caught a quick whiff of myself and realized that I hadn't taken a bath in a few days.
"Jeez. I can't even tell if this is human blood or the yetis. Either way, I stink" I said as I gathered my little amount of belongings "there should be a pond or river somewhere near here" I started walking through the nearby forest since I really had no idea where i was going.
'I don't understand why people walk so much. Running is so much faster and easier' I pick up my speed close to a sprint, I can take it easy since I'm not fighting.
Since the visibility from the ground was low, I decided to take to the trees to be able to spot some body of water better.
As I was practically jumping from tree to tree, I took a look at the scenery around me. The height of the trees fluctuated, they were anywhere from 10-150 feet tall. Some had moss, some didn’t. There was also a large assortment of wildlife, bugs, rabbits, wolves, bears, deer. There were very few magical beasts, the ones I saw were always herbivores, so they were peaceful.
I’ve always admired how animals can live in harmony, even carnivores and herbivores could live together peacefully if the right conditions were met.
Soon I noticed that the wildlife started to thin out. So I went full speed ahead in hopes of finding something interesting. Eventually the wildlife completely disappeared. I decided to look around just to see what I could find.
It took a while to find something, but I finally found a pond of some sorts. It was clear and shallow in one part, but it slowly got deeper and deeper, until the depths couldn't be seen anymore. Small bubbles rose to the top of the pond from the deep side. When the bubbles popped, the water would glisten in the light, giving the pond a magical vibe.
"Good enough" I say as I throw my belongs into a nearby bush, and walk over to the pond.
Looking at my reflection that appeared in the pond. I could see how that yeti fight had affected me. Dried blood was caked in parts of my hair, and made my light brown skin look more like crimson in some parts. My clothes were tattered to pieces, hanging on by literal threads in some parts. I never really noticed any of this since I was pretty used to it due to how I was raised. I naturally had a high resistance to temperatures, so my clothes being in shambles went completely unnoticed despite the cold weather.
"WOO!" After I was done stripping clothes and throwing them to the side. I jumped into the refreshing water. "The water is surprisingly warm, almost like a hot spring" I said as I began to settle down and relax.
As soon as my back touched the wall, my dream flooded back into my mind
The dream was blurry, but it was clear as day at the same time. I couldn't see anything at first, but there was a constant, ear wrenching scream, a scream that tore at the depths of my souls and made my blood boil. All that showed was a wall. A wall that was dimly lit, but there was just enough light to see the wall with clarity. This wall would get splattered with blood, that was followed by an even louder scream. The walls kept getting splattered with blood non-stop. The screams were loud, but they began to fade into the background as the focus was then on a sobbing. A light, helpless sobbing that almost sounded like a young child. All the audio of the dream was extremely distorted, giving it an eerie feel. One last scream blasted in my head before i opened my eyes, still in the pond.
My hands subconsciously covered my ears due to the loud screaming, even though the screams weren't actually real. The dream made me feel unbelievably angry, an emotion I feel all too often.
I splashed my face with water to help clear my mind, it surprisingly worked. I soon started to enjoy the warmth of the water. It made me wonder why such a random pond would be so warm. I decided not to think about it too much and just appreciated how comfortable the water was.
The water had calmed me down to the point where I could effectively reflect on yesterdays events.
'The killing of the humans was nothing new, but why would those humans say it was a low C, when just from running into that fire yeti one could tell it was easily a grade higher. The even weirder part is that, fire yetis should be able to even exist in human territory. They hate weather that is anywhere under 350 degrees Fahrenheit. So why the hell was it in a cave that was 30 degrees, completely outside of their usual habitat?'
'Now that I think about it. I didn't run into any other monsters while in that cave. As I was navigating, I could sense the dense life energy exuding out of the fire yeti. At the time, I couldn't recognize how powerful it was, so when I got close, it realized my presence before I could even get a good look at it. I have heard of occurrences where the boss destroys all of the other monsters within the cave. Although, I highly doubt that was the case considering how the temperature throughout the whole cave was the same until I got closer to its lair. That means there was no possible way for it to have traveled outside of its lair. Since it’s body heat would leave an extreme temperature jump that would linger even 48 hours after it left that spot. This isn't adding up. How could a dungeon appear without any other monsters spawning? That's simply unheard of. I might have to investigate this later. First I should think about buying new clothes soon. The ones I have are all tattered and ugly. While I don't care about what others think of me, I do like to look go-'
I halted my train of thoughts as soon as I recognized that the temperature of the water was rising at an alarming rate. It was starting to burn so I quickly jumped out.
As soon as feet touched the ground, the water exploded vertically with immense pressure. I could feel the heat even though the explosion was 50ft away from where I currently stood.
Within the geyser like explosion that was still going after three seconds, I saw a long black black figure rise up. The explosion kept me from getting a good view of it, but I could tell just from the little amount of life energy it released. It was weak.
Once the geyser died down after another 4 seconds. It revealed an extremely large black snake, it had large scales that were midnight black and laced with a shiny deep blue. Paired with its red and black frills, made the creature look majestic. I had never seen this creature before, but there was no question that I could defeat it.
As soon as the creature had a clear view of me, it shot out a highly compressed stream of water from its mouth. It was about the width of a small tree. I flicked my hand upwards with my hand flat, and generated a blade of wind that easily severed the compressed stream of water into two. These two severed streams shot out from behind me and destroyed multiple multiple trees in the process.
"You interrupt my bathing time. Then. You don't even allow me to put my clothes on before you attack me?! YOU INDECENT PERVERTED BASTARD!!" I screamed at the creature who was obviously dumbfounded by how easily I deflected its attack. I extended my hand, and pointed all five fingers at the creature. Condensing water around each on of my fingertips until the water was a bit larger than a pebble. I then shot out the five condensed balls of water. Two of the shots hit both of its eyes, two more pierced it's right and left frills, and the last one went directly through its body as if it was made of cloth. Its body seemed infinitely long due to how high above the water it was.
"I hope you enjoyed my treat you pervert." I spoke with a teasing tone as blood spewed from each hole. The creature screeched out in anger, I guess it has a high pain resistance.
"Since you enjoyed my last one so much, I'll gladly give you another" I summoned multiple rocks from the ground and directed them to my hand. As these rocks were traveling to my palm, the creature sent another attack out. This one was a bit stronger. The creature was still extremely weak though, so all I had to do was simply sidestep to dodge it. Huge crashing sounds boomed in the air and the ground vibrates from the force of tens of large trees falling over at once.
Once the rocks finally arrived in my left palm, I crushed them. And kept crushing them until they all condensed and that was left was a single rock less than the size of pebble.
"I truly do hope you enjoy this present, I put a lot of effort into it" I opened my palm and pointed it at the creature. The pebble like rock hovered outside my palm before I curled my fingers slightly and straightened them out again. Then the rock shot out at such a pace, it made the air whistle before it enter the hole i created in the creatures body earlier. Once it passed into its body and reached about halfway through, I balled my hand.
"Boom" I said with a nasty grin on my face. I quickly opened my hand like I was flicking water off my hands. After I did that motion, dozens of tiny pieces of rock, that were barely visible, exploded from the creature. A few pieces of flesh fell into the water. The creature began to scream again, this time though, it was in pain.
"If I kill you in the pond, blood will get everywhere and I won't be able to bathe here anymore. So we'll have to get you out of there" immediately after I finished my sentence, I jumped in the air. Straight towards its face.
Even though it couldn't see, it could sense my position. As soon as it sensed me approaching it began charging another attack. It shot out another blast, so I used wind to swerve out of the way and uppercutted it upwards.
Looking down, it was like seeing a black and blue pillar rise out of the water due to its length. In the air, I shifted my momentum to my feet as I did a backflip. Then, I pulled my legs in and launched both my feet out, drop kicking it. It's long body, that was easily 75 feet in length, flew out the water. As it slid across the ground, it uprooted tons of trees.
"There. Now I'll be able to bathe in peace without you bathing in pieces next to me" my voice was filled with relief, but also pity as I looked at the creature. It was bloodied and battered at this point. That's to be expected though, especially since the creature was so weak
"I'll put you out of your misery" I said as I create a saw out of water magic, except I turned the saw into a bladed flat circle. Allowing it to spin extremely fast. I made it spin so fast it began to look like a perfect circle. I then increase the size of it, 3 feet, 5 feet, 8 feet, 12 feet, all the way until the blade was 15 feet in diameter. Almost the size of the large snake creature. At this point, the blade was spinning so fast that it began to buzz.
"Make sure you become strong in your next life. Then maybe we can fight again" I side flip with my right hand out to gain momentum before throwing the circular saw with as much strength as I could muster.
The blade sliced through the air at an incredible speed towards the creatures neck, who was still on the ground, likely unconscious. The blade separated the creature head from its body with ease, and blood shot out from its headless body, painting multiple trees red.
"There we go. Easy enough" I looked down and realized that I had a bit of blood on me, and also that I was naked during that whole fight.
"Well, it did interrupt my bathing time, let's get back to it then I guess" I said as I walked back to the pond to finish bathing. The water wasn't a bit warmer than before, but I didn't question it
??? POV
'Wh-What in the world did I just witness?' I thought as I hid behind a tree staring at the boy who had just defeated a huge snake like monster.
'How did a little kid that doesn't even look 5 years older than me defeat such an insanely strong monster. HE DID IT EASILY TOO! WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH!' I was in complete awe of how powerful this person was. Not even realizing I had been staring at a naked boy for the past 4 minutes.
Earlier, I saw the boy bathing, and I was about to run and warn him of the danger of that pond. As soon as I was about to scream to warn him, the water exploded and I ran behind a tree. I didn't want to die of course. I was sad that I couldn't do anything to help the boy. But I soon realized that he didn't even need it.
I noticed his clothes that were sprawled out everywhere. They were torn and bloodied. This made me worry because what type of parents would ever allow their child to wear such worn down clothes?
Although, he seemed rather at peace in the pond, I was still kind of worried. And after about 2 more minutes of staring at him, I decided I would go to talk to him
