Astrid’s POV

“What the hell, why is he doing this?” I say aloud as I’m trying to find my way towards Kassy. The smoke is so damn thick I can’t see my hand in front of me. “Kassy, we need to put this fire out before it causes more damage.” I yell. I hear someone to the left of me, “let’s use our water affinity to put it out.” We both summon our water abilities and put out the fires. I close my eyes again and whip away all of the smoke. “Good idea using your wind affinity, now we can finally see,” Kassy says, taking a deep breath. I see Ash and the others a little ways away.

“Let’s go talk to the others.” We walk over to where they are, they look just as confused as we do. Ash notices me first and runs over to meet us, “hey!! You guys okay?” Kassy and I both nod, Blayne and Arabella walk over. “What is going on, what causes the fire?” Arabella asks. “My ex is here. We think he is getting revenge for me dumping him.” Kassy explains. “Setting a fire is a stupid way of getting revenge, especially when he most likely knows we are not human.” Kassy laughs, “he never was that smart.”

“Keep laughing bitch. You’ll be dead soon.” We all turn and see Dylan glaring at us. He throws a knife at Kassy’s head, I flash to her side and catch the knife in my hand. He smirks at me, “well aren’t you a quick one, too bad for you though. The knife is poisoned.” I look down at my hand and there are black marks, they are quickly moving up my arm, damn it! It burns like a bitch! “I am disappointed I missed your head Kassy, but at least someone you care about might die.” Kassy glares at him, “I should have killed you when I had the chance.” He laughs, “You? Kill me? That ridiculous, I have always been better at magic.” As I watch them argue the world starts to spin and I fall over, Ash catches me and sits on the ground with me in his arms. 

Kassy’s P.O.V

I see Astrid collapse, I was going to go over to her when Blayne comes over to me. “Being good at magic is not important if your powers aren’t strong on their own.” he says to Dylan, which only pisses him off more. “Fuck off!” I see him throw another knife and it slams into Blaynes shoulder, causing him to fall to the ground. “Blayne!!” I knee down next to him, he is unconscious. I hear Dylan laugh, “Better figure out what to do, your friends don’t look like they'll last much longer.” He walks away.

I look at Astrid, the marks have spread all the way up her arm and neck. I look down at Blayne again, it looks like he is having trouble breathing. “Ash, what do we do?” I ask him, starting to panic. “Arabella, I want you to go after Dylan and kill him. Kassy grab Blayne, we need to take them both back inside. We have a friend that should be able to help.” Arabella and I both nod, she heads off into the direction that Dylan went. I pick up Blayne and carry him inside with Ash behind me. “Just lay him on the table for now, I need to make a call.” He walks off into the other room, after several minutes he comes back. 

“Well?” I asked him. He walks over to where Blayne and Astrid are, “she will be here as fast as she can. She said she should be able to help.” I sighed in relief, now all we have to do is wait…. I hate waiting!

Arabella P.O.V

I run after Dylan for what seems like hours, finally I find where the little shit is hiding. “I know you’re here Dylan, I can smell you!” I hear him laugh but can’t pinpoint where he is. I growl while looking around, “Awe, did Kassy send her little friend after me? How cute!” I hear him snicker.  I growl in response, but he just laughs at me, “I see we have an angry pup, how naughty!” I stay where I am but I still can’t find where he is, “I’m gonna kill you little pup, and give Kassy your head on a silver platter!” 

“Not gonna happen, asshole!” I shift and go into a protective stance. I hear something move to the right of me, I lunge and slam Dylan to the ground. He is startled for a second but shoves me off and throws a round object at me. Before I have time to get away it explodes, I am instantly surrounded by smoke and can’t see anything. I hear him laugh, “what are you gonna do now little pup?” I sniff around and catch his scent, I lunge again and slash him in the face, he stumbles backwards and tries to run. I chuckle to myself, I lunge again and rip him to shreds making sure there is nothing left of that bastard. I shift back and run home to see if everyone is okay. 

Ash P.O.V

I feel like we have been waiting forever for Akira, but I know it hasn’t been more than 20 minutes. I hear something outside and both Arabella and Akira walk through the door, I sighed in relief. Akira rushes over to where I am and gasps, “look like I'm just in time.” 

I look at Astrid, she looks awful. Her skin is cracked and turning black where it has spread. I feel so useless. I see Akira go over to Kassy and give her a vial of neon green liquid, “Make Blayne drink this, it will stop the poison. He will feel like shit for awhile but he won’t be in any danger of dying.” she explains. Kassy nods, “thank you so much!” I watch her do what Akira says and Blaynes wakes up almost instantly. “Thank god!” Kassy yells and basically attacks him. I chuckle as Akira comes back over to me. 

She hands me a vial with an icy blue liquid, I take it and look at her waiting for instructions. “Spread it all over the poisoned area, it will stop the spread of the burning but it will take time for her to fully recover.” I nod, “thank you Akira.” I go next to Astrid and carefully spread the antidote over the burn, I hear her whimper but continue to do it, “sorry babe.” I say looking at her.

After a second she sits up again, “god, that feels a whole lot better!” Akria chuckles at her, “by the way congrats you guys, on getting engaged.” I look at her, “Thanks Akira.”

Astrid P.O.V

I get up and stand next to Ash, I feel his arm wrap around my waist and I smile. “When do you plan on having the wedding?” Akira asks me. “Soon, I do not want to wait.”  I laugh and Kassy comes over to us, “So are we going to continue to party?” she asks.

Arabella also walks over, “duh! Of course we are, that is if everyone is physically able to do so.” she said laughing a little. “I still feel like shit but I can still sit and chat with everyone.” Blayne says as he walks over to our little group. I chuckle, “I’m good to go.”

“What happened to Dylan?” Kassy asks Arabella. I hear Arabella laugh to herself, “Oh, that little bitch is dead. And might I say it was quite fun to kill him.” I smirk at her response and think to myself, killing is quite fun. “Thank god, now I can finally relax and not worry about him anymore.” Kassy sighs in relief. “Enough about all that, let's get this party started...again!” Arabella shouts. 

We all head back outside and do our best to salvage what we can from earlier. After a bit everything it set up again. I go over to Ash, “want to cook us up some food?” I suggest, he laughs and nods his head. I watch him go inside and get the food ready. After a while he brings out everything and we all eat and talk, soon we are all watching the sunset.

“Ohh, this would be a good time for a bonfire!” I tell everyone. Everyone agrees, and we all get up and gather wood. Ash builds the fire for us and we sit and talk most of the night just enjoying each other's company after another stressful day.
