Astrid’s POV

I wake up the next morning with a splitting headache, “ughhhhhh my poor head.” I hear Ash chuckle beside me, “maybe you shouldn’t drink so much.” I glare at him, “maybe, and this is just a suggestion, you could have stopped me.” He just rolls his eyes at me, “i tried to but you wouldn’t listen to me.” I sigh and give up, “that sounds like me.”

He pulls me up from the bed, “come on, let’s go downstairs.” I groan and flop back on the bed, “I don't want to.” He laughs, “I'll make you breakfast and get you some advil.” I look up and stare at him. He gives me a weird look, “what?” I stare at him for a couple more seconds, “I love you.” He smirks, “I know, and I love you too.” I finally get up and we head downstairs. Arabella is sitting at the bar, “how are you feeling?” I glare at her, she just laughs, “I suppose I don’t need an answer.” I sit next to her and put my head on the cool counter, I sigh in relief. “So, what are the plans for the day?” Ash asks. 

I lift my head up, “I want to show you where we should get married.” Arabella looks at me, “Is it somewhere I don’t know about?” I nod, “I found this place when I was younger. It was where I would go when I needed to get away from everything, I never planned on showing anyone but that changed when I met everyone. I feel like it’s time and it would be the perfect place for our wedding.”

“So basically it was your own private little get away for when you got too stressed out?” Arabella asks. “Yup, it is an island on Tupper Lake.” Ash gives us both a plate of food and sits down, “does this place have a name?” he asks. “Yeah, it’s called Watch Island.”

“I like the sound of this place, when will we be going to see it?” Arabella asks. “In a little while when I feel better.” I laugh. They both nod and we finish eating breakfast, after I'm done I go upstairs to get ready, Nelo knocks on the door and walks in.

I look up at him, he looks a bit nervous. “What’s up Nelo?” He walks over and sits on the chair across from me, “I know you and Ash are getting married, and I don’t want to steal the spotlight or ruin any plans but I really want to propose to Arabella.” I gasp and sit down, “Really!! Do you have any ideas on how you want to ask her?” I am getting really excited!!

He looks away sheepishly, “No I don’t, I was hoping you would be able to help me with that.” I nod and think for a few minutes, “well we are going to check out where our wedding is going to be today. If you follow us there you can surprise Arabella and propose to her there.” He smiles at me, “I like that idea, we should go with that.” 

“Could I see the ring you picked out?” I ask him, I just can’t help myself. He chuckles and pulls out a gorgeous diamond ring, I almost squealed. “She will love it!!” He leaves and goes to get ready and I finish getting ready as well and then head downstairs. “Everyone ready?” I ask. Arabella nods but I don’t see Ash, then I hear a motorcycle outside. I look at Arabella and she shrugs, we both go outside and see Ash on an awesome bike, he throws me a helmet. “Let’s go.” I laugh and get on, this man is always full of surprises. 

After a few hours we make it to the island. I get off the bike and almost fall over, man am I numb and sore. I hear Ash laugh at me, I chose to ignore him and went over to Arabella. I see her and Ash look around, “This place is absolutely amazing, it is so beautiful.” Arabella says in awe. “How did you find this place?” Ash asks me. “I was swimming in the lake and wound up on the island, it was so beautiful and I just felt drawn to it. Ever since then I always came here.”

“Does anyone own the place?” Arabella asks. I shake my head, “No, I looked it up. It’s been unowned for a while, it's very expensive.” She looks around again, “what a shame.” I laugh, “come on guys I’ll show you around.” I show them around the island, after a while we walk up some steps and go into a giant round clearing. “Here we are, this is the perfect place for the wedding.” Arabella and Ash look around, “you’re right, this is perfect.” Ash walks back over to me, “so what is your plan.” We all sit and I explain how everything should go and what we should all do. I was dusk out when we were finally finished planning everything, “Seems like we have a solid plan.” I say as I stretch. Everyone else gets up, “now we need to head back and send out a bunch of invitations.” Arabella says. I walk over to Ash and kiss him, “ugh get a room.” Arabella turns to look away and Nelo is standing there. 

She gasps and steps back, “Nelo! What are you doing here?” He walks over to her, “I know we haven’t been together for a long time, but the first day I saw you I was completely in awe and I wanted to know you and be with you. I fell head over heels for you in a matter of minutes. I love how smart and kind you are, you turn my worst days into the best with a simple smile.” I see Arabella tearing up as he gets down on one knee and shows her the ring, “Arabella Vaylian, will you do me the greatest honor and marry me?”  

“Yes, of course I will!” He puts the ring on her finger and she hugs and kisses him. After they have their little moment Ash and I walk over, “Congrats guys! I am so happy for you.” I smile at them. Arabella looks at me, “Did you know he was going to propose?” I laugh, “yes i knew, he let me help him plan everything.” She rolls her eyes, “I suppose i’m not surprised.”

“I believe it is time to go home, we have something to celebrate!” Arabella laughs, “sounds good. Nelo and I will stop on the way back and get some food.”  I nod, “I'll call everyone before we head out and let them know. Oh and be careful, the road gets icy at night!” She nods her head and they get in the car and leave. I call everyone quick and get things set for later, I hop on the bike and Ash and I leave.

Ash’s P.O.V

As we are going down the road I notice a huge piece of black ice, I try to be careful but it was useless. The bike veirs off the road, we both fall off and crash into nearby trees. I watch as the bike skids towards Astrid and smashes into her, I hear her cry out. I try to go to her but I black out from the pain. 

Meanwhile at the store, Arabella’s P.O.V

“What kind of salad should we get?” I ask Nelo. He thinks for a minute, “I think a pasta salad would be good.”  I grab the salad and we go to check out, after we get everything in the car we head home. I look at the clock, “wow it’s later than i thought.” I hear Nelo laugh, “Maybe if we hurry we can catch up to Ash.” I laugh, “I doubt it, anyway we have to be careful. Remember Astrid told us the road gets icy around this time.”

We drive for a ways and pass what looks like a bad accident. “Oh wow those poor people!” I say. I hear Nelo gasp, “holy shit! Pull over now!!” I look at him and pull over, “what’s wrong?” He was half out of the car when he yells at me, “that's Ash and Astrid!!”  I sit there shocked for a second. I look closer and I see that he is right. I get out of the car and rush over. As we reach the other side of the road we only see Ash. Nelo and I go over to him and I look around but don’t see Astrid. “Ash! Wake up!” Nelo starts to shake him. Ash slowly opens his eyes and looks around, “Ugh, what the hell happened.” I was about to tell him when he suddenly stands up and runs over to the bike.

He tries to lift it but he is too weak from the accident, he turns to us, “help me!! Astrid is stuck underneath it!!” We both run over and help him lift the bike. “Astrid, wakeup!” Ash gently shakes Astrid and she wakes up. 

Astrid’s P.O.V

“Ughhh, thanks for getting the bike off of me.” I feel Ash grab me and hug me, “I’m sorry, I lost control of the bike.” I smile at him, “it’s fine Ash. Don’t worry about it, accidents happen.” Nelo and Arabella look at us, “you sure you guys are okay, that looked like a nasty accident.” Nelo says. Ash looks at himself, “looks like just some scrapes and bruises, and a bump on the head.” I laugh at him, “can you help me up please.” He nods and pulls me up, as soon as I put weight on my right leg I scream and fall to the ground. “What’s wrong Astrid!” Ash kneels beside me worried. 

“I think my leg is broken.” I tell him, I don’t think that is my only issue but I just let it go, I should be able to heal on my own. “Damn, well you two are mostly okay.” Arabella says. I just look at her and smirk. Ash picks me up and walks to the car. We get in and head back to the house. 

After we get to the house Nelo and Arabella go in first. Blayne comes down stairs, “where are Ash and Astrid?” Nelo looks back outside, “right behind us. You should get your med supplies.” Blayne looks at him confused, “why would I ne…” he stops when Ash walks in with me in his arms. “Well you two look like shit, what happened?” he asks and walks over to us. “Crashed the motorcycle.”

“You guys okay?” he asks, looking us over. “I have some scratches and bruises and Astrid’s leg is broken. I feel Blayne stare at me, and I can tell he thinks something else is wrong but he doesn’t say anything. “Okay, I have some herb salves you can use and I’ll have to wrap Astrids leg.” He motions us to follow him upstairs, we go to his room. “Just lay her on the bed for me.” Ash gently lays me down, Blayne hands him to salves and he goes into the bathroom.

Blayne comes over to me, “Astrid, are you sure nothing else is wrong. You look very pale.” I ignore his prodding, “I’m fine. Just fighting through the pain.” He sighs but doesn’t push, “I will wrap your leg for you.” He starts to wrap my leg but stops half way, I look at him. “What’s wrong?” 

“I don’t think your leg is broken. Me wrapping your leg would cause a lot of pain and it seems to not both you when I do so.” I realize he is right, before I can ask him something Ash comes out of the bathroom. “What’s going on?” he asks

“Her leg isn’t broken.” Ash looks at him confused, “but when she tried to get up she screamed in pain and fell.” Blayne thinks for a bit, “Astrid i’m going to need you to stand. Ash can you help her please.” Ash comes over and helps me stand. I instantly scream and start to fall, Ash tightens his grip which causes me to cough. I feel something wet hit my arm, I look and it’s covered in blood. Well fuck…... I look at Blayne in shock, “ahhhh i'm pretty sure that is not okay.” 

Blayne chuckles at my comment, “No shit. I do believe I know what is wrong with you now.” He walks over and lifts my shirt exposing a giant black and purple bruise covering the right side of my body. I look at it and then look at him, “what the hell is that?!?!”
