Regardless of being restrained, Tujitou still wriggled as a loose lizard’s tail. His screams were muffled due to his swollen face. The crimson glow of the crystal embedded in his chest grew brighter by the second. The brighter it turned, the paler Tujitou became. His blood was being sucked by the crystal.
“True...magnificence”, Argons let out a tear.
The light flickered at the pace of a heartbeat until it eventually seemed to melt into his chest. All of his bruises, cuts and wounds healed themselves as the crystal shortened. With the healing of his wounds, his screams became clearer and much louder. Tujitou’s eyes turned crimson and then a pure black before fainting. The crystal was now nowhere to be seen. It had completely infused itself with Tujitou.
“Hmph, how anti-climactic”, Lazerus yawned.
‘He dares to call my masterpiece anti-climatic?’
“Prepare it for departure. I’ll come back for it”, Lazerus disappears like smoke in the wind.
“Departure? I don’t even get time to play with my own masterpiece? Preposterous.”
Argons walks over to the table where Tujitou laid unconscious and observed his body.
“No time to waste then”, Argons took a scalpel and cut Tujitou’s forehead. Mere seconds had passed and the cut had already healed.
“Marvelous, but what if”, he cut his whole throat open. A black substance which seemed to be Tujitou’s blood gushed out of him, but it didn’t take long before the wound healed itself. The blood that came out evaporated into the air as a black mist.
After having witnessed this, Argons came up with hundreds of experiments in his head. Knowing that he didn’t have much time left, he quickly decided to only do the experiments that truly piqued his interest.
…..
“Did you come to stink up the place old man?”, the old lady asked Tsander who was wearing a robe.
“You won’t find a man with a nasty personality like that hag.”
“No need to seek what you already have, no?”
“Then I weep for the dumb fool.”
“So what can I help you with?”
“The usual will do and a few of these”, he said as he started eating an apple.
“I’ll go get them in the back.”
Tsander walked around eating his apples. He looked around at different stalls to see what they were selling and bought some snacks while he was at it.
“The community seems to be livelier than usual today. It’s been quite some time since I came, but it is the first time seeing Brague so decorated. Almost seems like one of those self-proclaimed gods came here”, Tsander then walked back to the granny.
“Like father, like son. Can’t even wait a minute for your groceries.”
“Hahaha. He does take a bit after me, doesn’t he?”
“How’s the little rascal doing? It’s been a while since I last saw him?”
“A while?”
“He usually comes twice a week, but it’s already been 2 weeks since I last saw him. I thought the boy had fallen sick or something.”
“2 weeks? Thanks hag, but I’ll get going now.”
“Wait. Did something happen?”, Tsander had already left before she had asked him.
Tsander rushed out of Brague. He worried that something terrible had happened to his son. Not knowing where he could be, he decided to head to the Roshigi forest. Not only would Alexander be able to help find Tujitou, but Alexander was also the one person who best knew Tujitou.
‘I should be far enough from prying eyes’, Tsander sped his pace, but soon after he did Lazerus appeared.
“I knew my eyes didn’t deceive me”, Lazerus appeared in front of Tsander.
“My eyes can always spot a bounty.”
“Lazerus ‘head-hunter’ Anderson.”
“Your head has quite the bounty”, Lazerus implied as he lit up a cigar.
“The infamous Tsander Rozemidas hiding in this dump called earth. Imagine”, he snorted.
Tsander stood still, staring at Lazerus. He didn’t have time for this, but he also knew that Lazerus wouldn’t just let him go either. He clenched his fist to prepare himself to fight.
“Interesting. You’re not one to be impetuous, so what’s gotten you this desperate?”
“I’ll say this once, so it’s best to heed my words boy. FADE."
