“Real electricity, and in more than one place! This is amazing!” they exclaimed, without noticing Cohen or Nairna standing off to the side and talking quietly to each other.
“Aster!” Nairna called, “stop marvelling at everything you see and get yourself over here!”
“Sorry!” Aster called back, jogging over to where she and Cohen were standing, “what’s up?”
“Well,” Nairna started with a rather rude tone to her voice, “Cohen just decided to freeze up and I’m trying to get the reason why out of them but they’re refusing. I also want to keep an eye on you so that you don’t run off and do something stupid, which you are prone to doing.”
“I’m not that prone to stupidity!” Aster argued.
“Right. And you didn’t get four broken bones because you decided that it would be a brilliant idea to jump from the highest school wall that you could climb.” She retorted.
“That was only twice!”
“Only?”
“Oh would you please shut up!” Cohen had had enough. “Yes, Aster, you do tend to be a bit impulsive, but Nairna you’ve also made idiotic decisions,” Nairna sniffed her nose at this comment, but Cohen continued to speak, “you don’t need to keep taking jabs at each other, that won’t get you anywhere!”
“Right. Sorry.” Aster mumbled, wringing his hands behind his back and looking down. Nairna took a deep breath and looked down. Though she didn’t show it, she was also sorry.
