Darkness crept over the world. Curiosity brought many outside, but the air was no longer safe for most. Hundreds of thousands callapsed in the streets after inhaling the toxic miasma, while others fell into a coma like state.

Those who were left standing, witnessed the beings.
One could only be described as an abysmal darkness with no end; emmiting such a heavy pressure that one could only comprehend terror. The darkness had a blackened gaze that drove man mad when gazed upon.
The other was described as a blinding light, too bright to look directly at. The aura it emmited; weightless and pure, neutralized some of the effects of the putrid miasma.

These two beings faught, with no regard for the terrain or creatures around them, thus two thirds of the world and it's populous was anihalated from their battle.
The earth scarred and altered forever.
Alysmia, Bahazema, Calude, and Doggoma; thanks to their Fey origins, the four continents survived the catastraphe known as the Culling.
At that point, humans were awakened to the harsh reality that they were no longer at the top of the food chain... nor were they ever. Lycans, Sourceres, Royals, Capictilli and several other Fey creatures emerged from the fictional and nightmare realms; forcing humans to adapt or die.

At that point, humans were awakened to the harsh reality that they were no longer at the top of the food chain... nor were they ever. Lycans, Sourceres, Royals, Capictilli and several other Fey creatures emerged from the fictional and nightmare realms; forcing humans to adapt or die.
Not all were so friendly to the powerless humans, so the Human Protection Act was proclaimed. Royals gained the right to purchase humans as a food source under the condition that they not kill them. With the backing of the Lycans, who often mated with humans because of their 'null' genetics, the Act passed without much debate.
Furthermore, within the first twenty years war was waged, not only for resources; but to determine who would lead this new world into its unknown future.
Lycans, quick to reproduce and having a longevity only bested by Vampires and Capictilli, won every battle they faught. Their loyalty, tenacity and sheer bloodlust put them at the top of the food chain for centuries.
Hundreds of years of exposure to the miasma, left by the darkness that plagued the earth, altered the D.N.A of all creatures. Wildlife got bigger, and smarter; new spicies were born and some humans were no longer powerless. Thus a new, more powerful generation was born: Witches, Werewolves, Yaun-ti, Vampires, faries etc., became known as the Feytale.

Current Times
With the world run by the Fiend council, a council that consists of one representative of each pack, clan, koven, and nest; technology was only allowed to advace so far, as to not disturb nature like humans once did.
Electricity was harnessed once again, limited cars were available for purchase, stores, and most houses were made of wood; though the stronger enfluence a family had, the better built their accomadations.
This story takes place on the continent of Alysmia. The continent run by Werewolves, and Royals is divided into seven territories.
Like a rift in the earth, eight Packs spit the East from the West. They were in charge of protecting the Inner Circle, where the Council members resided. Four nests occupied the East and Southeast, while several Clans, Kovens and tribes lived scattered throughout the Northwest, West, and Southwest.
