Author’s pov: The journey had only started but Haru was fast asleep. That was the typical Haru. They went southwards in a forest near the gates.
The journey
took almost two hours then they finally arrived in front of an old house. The
old man sat inside. They went in and the talk was quite brief as Wills
introduced the kids formally where they got to hear the old man’s name ,Haydes
Flamesworth ,for the first time. The parents were set to leave as Haru’s mom
gave both of them a hug as they would not be seeing each other for at least a
few years. The cart drove back to the city. The duo turned back to the old man.
“Thank you for accepting us as your students.” Said both in high spirits.
“Before we begin the training adapt your life to this forest.” said the old man
as he came outside to show them around.
1 month later
Around 11 am
“Kuro, do you really think we are going to start learning anytime soon?” said Haru as they were sitting, tired under a tree “We just finished training for the morning. And if you are talking about learning magic we will learn in the academy.” Said Kuro as he stood up going into the forest “I will look for some herbs, you should look for firewood.”
Kuro’s pov: We came here a month ago and we thought training was to begin right on the next day. We were wrong, we spent the first week learning the basic needs for surviving here. Master made us do all the work ,except cooking, after he taught us about gathering herbs, water, firewood ,etc. “Opps.”I noticed that I gathered too much herbs as I was recalling things that had happened till now.
Author’s
pov: It was almost noon when Kuro came back; to his surprise there was a woman
around her twenties talking with the old man as Haru was listening by the side.
She was in formal attire, brown hairs. As Kuro got closer the old man called
him next to Haru who was listening attentively for some reason. Suddenly the
old man said to both of them, “Her name is Martha Relts. She is one of my
previous party member’s students. Most mages can use both magic and sword but I
am too old to teach magic so she will be teaching the both of you magic.” Kuro
immediately realized why Haru had been so attentive. He looked towards Haru
with a helpless face Haru put up a thumbs up in his direction.
Kuro’s pov:
It has been another month since Haru and I started learning magic. It was the
same thing every day until today after finishing our daily drill the old man
told us to gather at the table for a talk.
“Today we will be talking about you Kuro.
I know what you are but not who, and I will better not teach you anymore if you
don’t trust the three of us here to tell us the truth. Will you tell us
everything? If you are worried about your truth being spread then don’t, but I
will assure you with my name as a previous S rank that you can trust us.” As he
finished his words I knew I couldn’t stay silent forever. What he said was true
if I didn’t trust them he had every right to not trust me and I also knew he
said all of that in front of both Haru and Martha sensei because they were
trustworthy. But will everything stay the same after I tell them the truth,
such doubts filled m head as Haru spoke breaking the silence “Sorry but, what
was the current topic?” with that face of his it almost had me laughing and my
thoughts were all cleared up. “I will tell you all my truth.” I said.
“For them to better understand I will tell
them what I know first. Haru, Martha I think you both know of half bloods a
being of two parents of different races human, elf or dwarf. But there are also
half demons, an offspring of a human and a demon that is what Kuro is.” After
he finished I looked towards Haru and Martha sensei after hesitating a bit, I
didn’t know how they would react and I was also scared. But when I looked at
them I couldn’t feel any surprise on their faces. Both of them spoke at the
same time “So he is just a rarer half blood.” With that blank face of theirs
which shocked me. “Kuro your turn.” the old man then passed me the moment.
“As he just said I am a half demon. My
name is still Kuro. I am the son of the 8th demon lord, Lucifer, and
Ruriel Ernst, my mother.” I started with the introductions and tried to hide my
nervousness as I looked at the three of them.
“Oh the demon lord’s son.” Both Haru and
Martha sensei said at the same time with not a single emotion of surprise while
the old man had his eyes closed trying to take in what I just said.
“HUH?!! DEMON LORD’S SON?!!” Then
came this absurdly loud shout as I had previously expected.
“Then why were you in that
condition when we found you?” Haru spoke in a calm manner which surprised the
old man on how well he took it unlike Martha sensei who had smoke coming out of
her brain.
“I will get to it; let me go from
the start. I was raised in the palace by father and mother without anyone else’s
knowledge except Azazel, one of the four Elemental Kings of the demons. When I was
five mother passed away and after that the other three Elemental kings found
out about my existence. They tried to get rid of me and a month before I met
Haru and his group I was taken away from the palace by Azazel and he told me
about father’s death. I was left alone in the ruined village of Kadris as he
went to distract the other demons that came after me. I then ended up with Haru
and his family and now I am here.” I ended m words as I looked up to try to see
how they would react. But when I looked up I saw it, Haru looked like he was
listening very well but I could tell he DIDN’T GET A SINGLE THING.
“So am I still going to be learning swordsman here?” I turned to the old man and asked.
“Of course you are. It’s not like I will not teach you cause of your background but it will be rather interesting to teach the Demon Lord’s son himself.” Replied the old man with a grin on his face.
