“Why did you agree to let them stay if you knew it’d upset me?” Deer asked, sitting in the passenger seat while Ka’uh drove.
“Because we needed the help, and besides they’ll only be here maybe a day.” Ka’uh answered, “They’ll get rid of the body, and the evidence.”
“I still have the rock.” Deer mumbled, taking it out.
“What-“ Ka’uh looked over, the car swerving, “You have the rock?!”
“Mhm.” Deer nodded, looking at it.
“Throw it out the car! Wipe it off first!” Ka’uh grabbed a wipe off the center console and threw it at Deer.
Deer caught it and wiped the evidence of herself off and threw them both out the window. “There.”
“Good, now let’s get home. I’d like to prepare our next night out and I’d like to finish with Pono being here.” Ka’uh sighed.
“Pono’ll want to help.” Deer was looking at her phone, and she looked completely pissed.
“I won’t let them.” Ka’uh huffed, “It’s our special thing.”
“Sure.” Deer grumbled.
They got to the house about an hour later, speeding. Ka’uh got out the car, opening the door for Deer. Deer growled, getting out.
“When’ll they be here?” Deer asked, walking down the open hall to their apartment.
“After they’re done, I suppose.” Ka’uh answered, following.
Deer fumbled in her pocket for a moment, taking out the keys and unlocking the door. Ka’uh walked up and hugged her from behind, hoping to lighten her mood a bit. Deer growled and pushed her off, walking in.
“Deer.” She said softly, slightly hurt.
“No. I’m going to lay down. Leave me alone.” Deer grumbled, walking back to their doorless bedroom.
Ka’uh sighed, going to the small kitchen. The time on the cheap electric stove reading 12:10pm in big green letters. She opened the small fridge, taking out a loaf of white bread, a bottle of bright yellow mustard, one of those squeezy mayo bottles, and a pack of meat that was left open in the fridge probably by Deer. She then made a sandwich, mustard on one side of the bread and mayo on the other. She contemplated making Deer one but decided against it, knowing she wouldn’t eat it anyways.
She went out, carrying her sandwich and a brown soda can, she sat on the couch. She turned on the tv and allowed herself to be consumed in the baking show she turned on.
