(Angel's POV)
I was walking around the Reaper Wing of he palace with Grim, Jackal Reaper's father "Seriously? Just like that?" "Back then, you didn't have a choice in who you married, all of the ancestors were just lucky that they actually liked the person they got" Grim smiled a bit "My wife was so beautiful- she was a reapriestess too.... both born in Hell, both childhood friends-" the window next to us smashed as a knife flew past us and hit the wall. My eyes widened at the fact that both of us weren't injured, while Grim wasn't phased by it, acting like it was normal. We walked out onto the balcony, seeing Jackal and Gamer "Sorry!" "No need to apologize Gamer" Grim smiled as he raised his hand, the broken glass turning to dust "Accidents happen" I stood there in disbelief "How did you do that?" "When you're older, I'll teach you" Grim smiled before continuing to walk. I ran to catch up to him "Come on, I died at the age of sixteen or seventeen and I'm about a hundred and sixty six in demon years-" "But you've only been using your demon body for nearly eleven months, so you're still classified as too young" "But you've taught Jackal everything you know-" "Everything he thinks I know, sure he's a hundred and seven but he's still my little boy" oh yeah, Royal family members live long until their killed.... how fucking old is Grim?! "I'll teach you when you're ready" he patted my shoulder "Maybe go check on Jackal and the shadow walker, make sure that they're not destroying more windows" "Yes sir" I walked downstairs and out to the courtyard to see Gamer sitting on a step, back leaned against a pillar. I walked over to him and as I got closer, I realized that he wasn't exactly wearing any black eyeshadow- he had blackish-blue bags under his eyes as if he hadn't slept for days..... then I remembered what Death told me a couple of days ago "Gamer-" he jolted awake, full alert "O-oh, h-hey Angel..." "Where's Jackal?" "Went inside... after I kinda accidentally got him in the leg with a knife.... again" I rolled my eyes as I sat down next to Gamer. "Not getting any sleep?" "Not really" he signed.... "I know about what happened the other night" his eyes widened "How-.... Death" "Yeah, he only told me because he knew I'd beat the next demon or devil who tries that on you again" Gamer looked away from me, tugging on the hood of his hoodie.
I signed "Okay yeah, almost getting raped sucks, take it from someone who actually did get raped when she was human" he looked at me shocked "Yeah yeah... I was weak back then and it was right after these people killed my father because of this" I showed him the pentagram tattoo on my hand "A demon helped me when I was sick, everyone thought I was evil so exactly a year later I had a daughter and was killed by a priest.... I died in 1820, on my birthday". Gamer looked down at the ground "I only act the way I do because I lost the ability to trust people-" "I'm sorry" I looked at him "You're not the one who has to be sorry Gamer, you don't have to apologize for things you didn't do.... or for the things that happened to you" I placed a hand on Gamer's shoulder "I use to do that all the time, blame myself until I saw the actual problem.... you're lucky that you've got Death as a friend". He smiled a bit "I'm also lucky to have a friend like you as well" his words tugged at the corner's of my mouth, the urge to smile back was lingering, but I forced it away "So that night- what nearly happened to you... that the reason why you haven't slept?" "Actually no, its something.... else" the way he said that actually made me feel a bit uneasy "What is it?". "A recurring nightmare.... my as an angel with no powers, running through this place I'v never seen before while this thing chases after me" it sounds just like a normal children's nightmare, but the look on Gamer's face right now tell me that its not "It kept singing this lullaby about how I'm going to lose my eyesight and freeze to death, and every time he got me... he ripped out my eyes and I wake up terrified" okay, now I see the reason he hasn't slept. "There's this type of demon under the Eclipse rule called dream caters, they make nightmares for those who aren't in heaven or hell" "You think a dream cater is giving me nightmares-" "I think a dream cater is breaking the rules just to mess with a fallen and a reaper" Gamer looked at me "You're having nightmares too?" "Nightmares I'm not gonna talk about now.... I'll sort out the dream cater problem" I stood up "Gamer... does Death know you're having nightmares?" "N-no" "Tell him, he'll help you out a bit".
I walked off, leaving Gamer on the steps as I headed over to the Eclipse Wing study, immediately finding Aristomache "Angel?-" "Book about Eclipse Wing demons" I kinda blurted out as I searched the shelves "Why do you need such book?" "Just- please Ari...." Aristomache's face softened as she searched a shelf.... I rarely use her nickname. She took an old book off the shelf and placed it down on her desk, I immediately flicked through the pages until I found what I was looking for... Aristomache looked at the page "Dream caters... why?" "One has gone rogue"...
(No One's POV)
"And Angel told you to tell me?" Death asked as Gamer nodded his head "She really thinks its the same one messing with her?" "Its a guess-" "A risky guess, if she's wrong then I don't know, but if she's right about this...." Death signed "I'll ask Zakaria to give you one of her dream catchers and if you wake up from a nightmare, then come straight to my room and wake me up, okay?" "Okay" Gamer said quietly. Death placed a hand on his shoulder "I promise you it will stop soon... I want you to know this isn't happening because you're a fallen angel" "I know, I'm just worried... not about myself, but about Angel" "Why?" Gamer looked at the ground "Just a feeling that's something's very off, that something else is going through her mind other than the dream cater"........
