(Death's POV)
I walked out of the back where the employees' rooms are, behind the bar of the casino to see June and Gamer sitting at the bar, talking until June looked over at me "Well someone's dressed to impress, where you going?" she asked as Gamer looked at me as well "Heading over to Sovanna Jeong's-" "The overlord the creep belonged to?" Gamer questioned... which ended up making June laugh a bit. "Business about one of Sovanna's employees" I rolled my eyes, bending down to open the casino safe and taking a tiny black box out of it before closing the safe. I stood back up, putting the box in my pocket "Oooohhhhh, what's that?" June asked, leaning over the bar in attempts to see "Red Tourmaline-" "Where in Hell did you mange to find red tourmaline?". "Isledale, Akire got it for me and I did get her to triple-check that it's not fake-" "I thought you didn't trust people like Akire from Isledale" Gamer smirked "Okay, Akire's actually pretty decent" "So why do you have red tourmaline-" "None of your business" I interrupted June "Neither of you" I held back a laugh as June stuck the middle finger up while glaring at me and Gamer stuck his tongue out at me. "Well I'm heading out, enjoy your day off" I walked over to the front door of the casino "And you enjoy your stupid 'mystery business' with Mistress Jeong" June rolled her eyes before I walked out the door, locking it behind me, then starting my walk to the overlord's house.
14 minutes later...
I walked up to the front door, knocking once before Sovanna opened the door "Do you have it?" she asked "Yep, where is she?" "In her room" Sovanna let me inside, closing the door behind me before leading me to Lali's room. Sovanna knocked on the door "Silverstone? There is someone here to see you, may we come in?" "S-sure!" Sovanna opened the door. Lali's room is a bit plain since she's only been in Hell for a bit; red-painted walls, dark-brown wood floor, bed with black-and-grey sheets and a pillow, a small black nightstand by her bed, a small closet and a wooden glory box, most likely the same one she had in the human realm... think Sovanna went to the human realm to get it just to make Lali's room feel a little more homey. "Death?" Lali looked at both of us confused as we smiled at her "Happy death day, Lali" there were a few tears rolling down her face as she smiled back at us "Exactly one year of being a demon in Hell, very proud of you Lil" Sovanna gently smiled, Lali got off her bed, running over to us and giving us a hug "Thank you" she whispered, letting go and taking a step back. "And as a little keepsake to mark your first year, me and Death got you something" Sovanna looked at me, I grabbed out the small black box and gave it to Lali. She carefully opened it, revealing a small gold ring with a single red tourmaline stone "The ring is one of my old ones that unfortunately too tiny for my fingers, yet perfect size for yours and since the original stone was missing, Death was kind enough to find one exactly like it" Sovanna explained. Lali placed the ring on her ring-finger, admiring the hell out of it "Only wear it for special occasions and keep it in your glory box for safety, and so you don't lose it" Lali immediately took off the ring and put it back in its box, rushed over to her glory box and placed the carefully inside "Thank you both so much". Lali turned back to us, huge smile on her face.
Sovanna soon left the room to get back to work, I closed the door as Lali gestured for me to sit down on her bed. "So how is everything going here?" I asked Lali as I sat down next to her "Its good, don't have to pay rent or anything like work uniform and food u-um..." "What?" I asked as Lali looked at the floor "Most of the people I live with are working lust-sinned demons and devils" "Oh... right, forgot that". Down here in Hell, most of the demons and devils with the lust sin usually work at places where the sin lives meaning nightclubs, brothels or some other shit. Lali has the lust sin, but... I've never seen nor heard anything about her or that topic, she's as clean from sin as Gamer, but like the fallen, she has had 'run-ins' with perverted-inappropriate pieces of shit that roam Hell and unfortunately... also Sovanna's house whenever Lali's housemates decides to bring them off the street or out of casinos and clubs just for fun or a little more cash. "Sorry you have to live with that-" "It's fine, Death... I'm use to it now" Lali smiled weakly "Imagine being a powerless demon with a worthless sin-" "I wouldn't exactly call it worthless" she gave me a look that said otherwise "I'd call it very.... distracting?" "Says the guy with the cooler sin-" "Says the guy with the pain-in-the-ass sin that gives him anger issues" I snapped back, yet immediately calmed myself. "Sovanna doesn't want me to have anything to do with it... I can't get my powers unless I 'embrace' the sin..." Lali signed, folding her arms "I remember how I didn't get my powers until I actually killed nine of the shit heads who tried to kill me first... but here I am, not using my sin or powers whatsoever yet kind of successful". Lali kept her head to the ground "Listen, if you want... you can work and stay at my casino, Sovanna wouldn't have any problem with it-" "I'm fine with where I am" Lali looked up at me, smiling innocently "Thank you for the offer, but you have already done enough for me just today and I'm grateful for that".
"But I need you to turn down the 'helpful friend' for a bit, besides... Sovanna's trying to teach me how to be somewhat like her, kind of what you're doing with that fallen" Lali smirked at me "I-I'm not teaching him to be me- I'm trying to teach him the basics of being a demon and how to survive down here-" "By getting him to work at your casino?" alright, she kind of got me there. "But really, he was an angel- what is he like?" Lali asked as I laughed a bit "Tiny for starters, he'd be a bit shorter than you... he's very kind, selfless, very innocent-minded, quiet at first until he gets to know you- he's almost the exact definition of what an angel should be, but..." there it was, the guilt. What I felt before when I found out Gamer had been thrown out of Heaven because of me. "Death?" I looked away from Lali "They threw him out just because he helped a demon- helped me.... he wasn't corrupted or anything" then there's the anger, what I felt straight after the guilt, how badly I wanted to go back to Heaven just to rip the wings off all those guard angels, wrap their halos around their necks and make them beg for their stupid lives like Gamer did for his before being thrown out. "Imagine being the one who made an angel fall, the one who took away their safety and their home-" "No" I looked at Lali "Imagine being the demon who rescued an angel from their own hell and helped them find a new heaven" she's... right- Gamer hated Heaven so much and soon after getting use to the idea of being a demon and living in Hell... he considers Hell as his home, not Heaven. "I've got to head back, should be getting a delivery for the casino-" "Really?" "Yeah, sorry..." I got up, heading over to the door "Happy death day Lali" I smiled as she smiled back "Thank you Death" a second later, I walked out of the door.
(No One's Pov)
"Do you know the angel in question?" "Sort of" "So who was he to you?" Uriel, the archangel questioned the angel as the rest of the court watched and waited for an answer "Just the outcast of the group, none of us cared about him- we all didn't like him because of what his mother was-" "My question was 'who was he to you?' not how you and the whole north-eastern guard pretended that the kid didn't exist his whole life". "I-I was just following orders-" "From who? The angel who just randomly deemed themselves worth of a role they were certainly not fit for and proven themselves to be a small child waving an angelsilver sword at everyone instead of a soldier?" Uriel managed to put the angel into a corner, meanwhile Michael was leaning back in his seat at the back of the court. For almost eleven months, they have been questioning every guard angel about the incident of the 'falling' of Gamer Shadow, one that was never meant to happen. God had sent many letters to Hell, trying to convince Satan and his family that it was all an accident and all that he wanted was the safe return of the fallen... yet the letters that were sent back answered 'no'. The Royal family of Hell wanted to keep the fallen, apparently they all actually like having him in Hell and at the palace. "Uriel" the archangel turned to god who sat next to the stand in the judge's seat "Enough, Damian please guide the young angel back to the cells" "Yes grandfather". Damian; dark-night haired, red eyed and pale skin angel, prince of the Darkwood Wing of Heaven, one of God's grandchildren and one of the seven youngest. Damian guided the angel out of the court room as everyone left... leaving only God, Uriel and Michael in the court. "No matter how many guards you question, none of them are gonna admit that they were in the wrong-" "Calm yourself Michael" Uriel interrupted his brother "It's not your fault-" "Yes it is, I shouldn't have gotten him to help..... if he never met that demon then none of this would be happening".
"Michael, that demon is currently protecting Gamer from all harm and sin, Satan tells me that they're friends-" "For all I know, that demon could be just looking to get Gamer's trust in order to take advantage of him-" "The demon is a ripper demon!" Uriel yelled, surprising Michael... Uriel very rarely goes off at any of his brothers. "Aristomache said that Shadow has demon powers, he's not an angel anymore-" "He is to me" Michael snapped "And I want in back home, safe from everything!" Michael walked out of the court, leaving God and his brother alone, worried about him.
