Welcome to Hell [Season 1]

Chapter 20- Dream Weavers

Chapter 20- Dream Weavers

Jan 16, 2022

(No One's Pov)
"Mistress Aristomache" a tiny grey-skinned demon ran up to the queen "The temples of Threat, Thorn and Phantom have sent the papers regarding the councilor heirlooms" "Thank you Cyan- oh, had the dream caters given that report yet?" "No miss" Cyan answered "Really- what about the-" "Any paperwork regarding the dream caters at the dream-weave in Sreeburn are being withheld". Aristomache signed before she started walking again, the tiny demon following close behind "You have a meeting with the Mansons, Lord Tyson Bloodworth, Black Councilor Rochelle wants to go over some things on the Hayes Creek Hospital case-" "Wasn't that case closed?" "Miss Burns is the Councilor of the Threat Wing" "Right-" Aristomache stopped in front of the opened doors to the Eclipse Hall of Murals. She looked into the hall, seeing Gamer looking at each mural "Cyan, why is the fallen here?" Aristomache asked the tiny demon "His friends are working late today, Jackal brought him here to just wonder and bore his mind" Cyan answered as Aristomache looked back at Gamer "Wait here" "Yes miss".

(Gamer's Pov)
I looked up at another one of the murals, underneath it were these blood-red roses that were slowly turning black at the tips "Shadow" I looked over to see Aristomache standing by my side "Aristomache, I'm sorry... I-" "Don't... I understand why you're in this room" she looked up at the mural in front of us. I looked back at the mural, the figure in it was portrayed in a light blue "Who is she?" I asked Aristomache "That's Shyama Rivera, the current Black Councilor of the Eclipse Wing" "She's pretty... like a dream" I smiled a bit "Councilor Rochelle of the Threat Wing said the same, both are as close as you and Death". I looked up at Aristomache "Really?" "Yeah... see- all these people in every mural are depicted in the color of their sin, Shyama's blue is sloth, Rochelle's in the Threat Wing is red is for wrath-" "What about that one?" I asked, nodding to the new-looking mural "That um... is the next Black Councilor, but I-I don't exactly understand why they're green-" "Isn't that envy?". Aristomache was quiet a bit "Yes, but when I met them I couldn't sense their sin... can you see the face-" "No, my vision goes a bit blurry every time I look at this one" I answered "Mistress Aristomache! The dream-weave are insisting you go pick-up the papers-" "I can do it" I offered as Aristomache looked at me "You sure?" "Hundred percent, Death's been teaching me a few shortcuts to avoid most demons and devils, I can go to the dream-weave and back before dark". Aristomache raised a brow "You do understand the dream-weave is filled with-" "Dream caters, yes, but I'm over that Crawler crap now" "That's some determination" Aristomache smirked, she held up her hand and summoned this silvery-navy-blue coin with the Eclipse symbol on it along with a sin symbol in the center of it. "This is proof I sent you to retrieve the paperwork" she handed the coin to me.
Half an Hour Later...
I jumped off one building roof onto another, looking down at the building below known as the dream-weave, 'Its better using the allies or roof tops to get around then going down to the main street' what Death told me repeated in my head... I'm so bloody lucky he told me that and he was right, its even more faster as well. I climbed down the fire escape stairs onto the street then quickly walked across the road, through the doors of the dream-weave 'The dream-weave is filled with dream caters, its where they create the nightmares for the people in the other realms' something Angel told me a week or two ago went through my head as I walked up to the front desk. "Excuse me-" "One sec" the receptionist held out a finger to me as she quickly answered the phone, grabbing a pen and writing something down in her notebook while I stood there feeling awkward... and then I started noticing her features. Bluish-grey skin covered in dark-blue and black fabric, her hair was darkest-blue fading to light-blue and long, hanging over her blood-red eyes that held pale blue orbs... she looked kind of spider-like. She finally ended the phone call, placing the phone down "E-excuse me" her eyes immediately darted to me "What?" she asked in a harsh tone "I-I'm here to pick up some papers for Aristomache Eclipse...." she looked me up and down, her eyes soon narrowed "You mean the queen?" "Uh-" she was quick... leaning over the desk as I noticed.... she's got two sets of arms. Four pairs of arms! I was right about her looking like a spider, because that's the type of demon she was... a dream cater. "Do you know how many criminals come in here claiming that they're picking up files for the queen of Hell?" she hissed as I leaned back a bit "N-no" "Do you know what we do to those people? What about I show you" as if it were possible, a fifth arm popped out of her back, a-hundred-percent spider-looking arm that was sharp at the tip.

It came at me, my panic proving to still be one of an angel as I threw my arms up in front of my face, a poor attempt of protection yet... nothing happened. I looked up at the demon who had froze mid-attack, eyes wide and softening by the second "A... a fallen angel..." she looked mesmerized by something. I was confused until I turned my gaze to what she was looking at... the star tattoo on my right wrist.... crap. Crap! Crap! I forgot to put on those bloody gloves before leaving the casino! I stood there panicking, heart racing "T-there's a fallen angel in front of m-me... the first fallen angel of the Eclipse Wing!"... and apparently I wasn't the only one freaking out a bit. The demon leaned over the desk more to get a closer look at me, yet when she did, she sniffed the air a bit and immediately shot back over to her side of the desk, completely petrified. "You're- you're..." she looked even more scared than I did "U-uh... I n-need to see p-p-proof that uh..." "Oh, that's what this is for" I took out the coin with the weird marking and held it out for the demon to see... she took a step back from the desk, staring at the coin in absolute disbelief. "Holy shit... this is real..." "Uh... the paperwork for the queen?" "Oh- of course" the demon opened a draw, taking out a rather large file filled with loose papers "D-do you need a bag or-" "I'm good, got my own" I took off the bag on my shoulders, opening it and putting the file in it before closing the bag up and throwing it back onto my shoulders. "Thanks, have a nice day" I smiled, walking out of the doors of the dream-weave while the unnamed demon let out a sign of relief.
Half an Hour Later, again....
I walked through the Eclipse Wing, towards the Eclipse study, knocking once on the door "Come in" I opened the door, seeing Aristomache scan the shelves of books, looking to something "You're back in one piece, that's good... any troubles at the dream-weave?" "Only until I showed them the coin... although..." "What?". The queen looked at me as I took the file out and placed it on her desk "The receptionist, she smelt me then started keeping an incredibly strict distance from me, she was terrified" "Makes sense" I looked at Aristomache, confused "What do you mean?" "Death's scent is all over you" my eyes widened "W-what?" "His scent? one of the ways a demon or devil can tell what the other is?". I still had a confused face "The hell are they teaching angels up there" "Absolutely nothing about demons and devils, that's for sure... or that was probably only me" I folded my arms "Wouldn't I have a shadow walker scent or something-" "You do, it's just your friend's is also on you as well" Aristomache answered. "...how?" the woman rolled her eyes as she took a book off of the shelf "Spend too much time around someone, their scent kind of sticks to you... but I wouldn't believe she was scared of you for any reason but one" "And what is that?" I asked as Aristomache signed "You really want to know?" I nodded my head. "Okay well... when another person's scent sticks to you, most of the time demons and devils would assume that the person the scent belongs to is your partner or mate" ...yeah, guarantee you right now that my face is completely red. "What the- why in god's name would-" "Gamer, calm down" Aristomache walked over to me "We're only friends for christ's sake-" "I know, but unfortunately only the people you've met know that and it only happens to new demons and devils" I looked at the ground "Look- at one point my cousin, Erik Phantom, started picking up an archangel's scent because how close friends they were, it wasn't until about two or three months unknown people stopped assuming that they were a thing". She placed a hand on my shoulder "Trust me, it'll just blow over eventually".

After having a small conversation with the queen, Gamer offers to run an errand for her. Yet he soon returns with a question, and once receiving the answer, Gamer learns a rather 'shocking' fact about being careful in picking friends and how close you get to them.
