John POV

We had made it halfway to the point, the temperature was getting hotter and hotter without a sight of it ending.

Jake was struggling really hard and it looked like he was about to melt, everyone else isn’t doing that much better as well and now I'm in charge of carrying all the heavy stuff. 

“You're really going to make me carry everything aren’t you?” I complained as I sweated buckets.

This really wasn’t an ideal place to be in, the glaring sun beaming into our eyes and the wildlife here...isn’t great, seems that everything here wants to kill you and feast on your flesh.

We’ve only been here for a few hours and yet been attacked by all kinds of things, although killing them isn’t hard unlike some zombies.

“What’s going on?” - John, The atmosphere turned dense and all life around us retreated away...The air thickened and I could feel a sense that was telling me to just run away.

I turned around checking to see if everyone else was feeling the same and I was right. “Hey something doesn’t seem right about this” Jake said, “Yeah I was thinking that too” Replied Thomas.

“Stay on alert” I said to everyone making sure they heard...Jake is right something weird is going on...The only thing I thought could of happened is something Aithen might of done-

Out of nowhere an extremely fast zombie ran up to Jake and punched him, Jake was sent flying to somewhere out of our sight. “Jake!” Shouted Kaylee.

“Knew it.” I exclaimed. “No you didn’t!” Shouted Thomas…”I wasn’t talking about the Kaylee and Jake thing doofus, I meant I knew there was a zombie” I shouted back. “You still didn’t know John!” Thomas shouted...Anyways...Now is not the time to argue.

This didn’t look or act like a regular zombie in fact it was anything but a normal zombie, it was much taller and thinner and had bursts of fire all over its body...Not to mention how damn fast it is.

The zombie was standing still looking around...Maybe it’s checking to see if there are reinforcements it should be worried about? It went into a stance...It’s going to make an attack! “Watch out, it's going to attack!” I warned everyone as I prepared to try and dodge the zombie.

Thomas and Jake were building something with scrap they found at the building before to help in the fight and Kaylee was defending both of them to make sure they were working their best.

It ran straight to me and I just about managed to dodge it but one of the fire bursts hit me and caused some damage to my scanner...Great...I feel like this zombie will be the hardest I’ve ever come across.

I took out my Pythra which is a modified version of a magnum and shot the zombie in the legs trying to disable it’s movements...Now that my scanner is broken I can’t actively read the zombies movements and guess where it’s going to attack and when.

 The bullets hit straight through its leg and lost his balance but then his leg healed pretty much instantly. “Awfully convenient for the zombie there” - John.

It looked straight at me and stared dead into my eyes before launching another attack...I couldn’t react and punched me in my stomach into the ground. “Argh!” I shrieked in pain.

My equipment was breaking fast, I need to kill it before it does that. “Jake, Thomas, are you done yet?” I shouted. Jack started spraying bullets towards them and tried to also paralyze them but sadly it didn’t work

“Maybe I shouldn’t have shouted that” - John, the zombie turns to Jake and Thomas then charges straight into the weird thing they were building. “...Great...Guess we have to kill it with our guns” I told Thomas, Kaylee and Jake.

It was standing still so I used that time and shot repeatedly at it’s legs, arms and head. Thomas was shooting at the same time and Kaylee was doing the same.

The zombie struggled against the endless onslaught of bullets but it hit Thomas when he reloaded and broke free and the zombie grabbed Thomas by the neck and strangled him, Thomas frantically kicked and clawed at its hand to try and break free. Jack ran up to try and free Thomas but the zombie attacked him and he fell on the floor.

I shot it in the arm trying to make it release its hold but it was no use. It turned and looked at me dead in my eyes and was about to attack but Kaylee and Jake shot it and it looked in their direction and went towards them while Thomas was still struggling.

The zombie turned it’s back to me and continued trying to kill Thomas, in a panic I shot him even more times but still wouldn’t work no matter what. With its other him it grabbed me by my left arm and grabbed me.

Just as I was about to get close I punched him and my fist managed to go straight through the zombie into its heart, I pulled it out and crushed the heart in my hand.

The zombie fell and slowly turned into a pile of weird goo. “Again awfully convenient of the writers...They really don’t want to kill off characters yet” - John.

“Everyone alright?” I asked, everyone seemed fine apart from my equipment...What’s strange is that the zombie was so much stronger than regular zombies.

I realised that Jake had come back from his flight and had witnessed what happened at the end of the fight, “Oh...O....Kay John” Jake jokingly said.

“Yeah I’m strong unlike you” I told Jake, now that the zombie was defeated we set off to the rendezvous to meet Aithen again.

We walked for a few minutes and managed to find our way to it, luckily everyone else's equipment was fine so they used their coordinates to find it.

Now that we have arrived all we do is wait for Aithen to arrive back.
