I sold my soul for a dime on that day 

I’d been naive enough to think that deal was fair and okay

Then I sold my mind for something I now can’t find

I misplaced it long ago, but when that was I can’t think, I do not know.

I then gave my heart to the world, but I didn’t care the very next day

The people tore it to pieces the wind blew it away

Now embers of who I used to be barely reflect, even a ghost of me

Like the sphinx time has erroded me, leaving me a face without a nose
