As Mother parked the car in our garage, I looked at everything I could see and thought everything I could think that might be able to help me figure out why Mother was treating us like her children. Like her family. Like we both were our own someone and not two somethings. I couldn’t find anything. At least not anything useful. The only thing that might help at this point was praying.
