The air is cold around me, chilling me to the core. I'm sleeping on the cold and damp ground. Near me, I can feel heat from another being.
I open my eyes to find a red sesame Shiba Inu.
Now I remember.

I still wasn't used to traveling alone. With dad, I wasn't in pain.
But this was different, I had never been woken up by a dog licking my face.
I giggled, reaching up to pet him. "Hello." I said softly. Grimacing in pain. When I was hit with the bus I definitely broke my ribs.
The dog was a Shiba Inu, his coat a red sesame color. I hadn't ever seen one in person before only in pictures and videos.
He sat down next to me. He stayed there watching, watching me, and around me. Like he was going to keep me safe.

It had been just us together for about a week. I'd only called him Sesame, just because of his coloring. At the time I wasn't feeling creative.
I taught myself how to catch fish.
I sharpened a large stick, with a stone and used it as a spear. It was hell all things considered.
I was in constant pain.
But I wasn't alone again, which I had been expecting.
Every night as I fished Sesame sits by the shore, watching. He begins barking once I've caught two fish. One for me, and one for him.
He watches on the edge of his seat as I prepare his food first. Whining softly.
I know that technically you shouldn't feed your dog before your self, but I think he deserves it.
This is our routine, for two weeks. I fish twice a day, and we sit together as my injury's hopefully heal.
Sesame begins to growl like I've never heard from him before.
"Sesame?" I say his name hoping to get him to stop.
Suddenly, pain blooms in my stomach. And Sesame is whining as I fall to the ground.
Sesame does what he would do to any injured dog he would come across. He begins licking my wound.
I laugh petting his head. Knowing that this is the end.
"Thank you Sesame." I say. I hope he doesn't stay here for long once I'm gone. I hope he moves on.
I don't notice someone is approaching till I hear Sesame growling at them. He moves him self so he is covering more of my body with his.
I see a woman coming towards me, long blonde hair, and pale skin. Her eyes are completely milky white. I can see in her right hand she's holding a gun.
I look her in the eyes, and she smiles, and within seconds she is gone completely.
Sesame barks in confusion. But gets back to "cleaning" my wound.
I can feel myself fade away, with Sesame having wiggled onto my chest and pushed his face into my neck. And for the first time, I'm read to leave.
~~~~~
I wake up, eyes shooting open, breathing irregular. I immediately still to regain my bearings. I'm laying my back. With Sebastian at my side, his head on my chest.
