She ran.
She ran faster.
She was the only one to survive.
It had happened a year ago, but the pain was still fresh in her mind as she ran away from the creature who reminded her of her torment.
It was like she could still see the fire.
How it was all fading away.
What did their faces look like again?
I’m so sorry.
I’m so sorry.
I’m so sor-
She was ripped from her mind as she crashed into something.
Was it the creature?
She looked up, and saw a normal forest, and she was sitting on a crooked path. She also saw a figure of a human, with purple skin and messy brown hair.
“You alright there, pogchamp?”
She nodded, still too stunned to speak, the creature was nowhere to be seen, only the person.
“Well that’s good! I’m Random Shoot! What’s your name pogchamp?”
She spoke softly.
“*insert name*.”
“Nice to meet ya *insert name*!” Random Shoot pulled her up and smiled at her. “You should come to town! It’s where all the losers like us hide.”
*insert name* nodded. She needed something to eat anyway. She followed Random Shoot down the path, when an odd creature showed up. A frog with tiny horse legs that made cow sounds. *insert name* made a face. Random Shoot blushed. “Uhm, my curse. Dumb stuff like that shows up. Best to ignore it.” They laughed nervously. *insert name* frowned. “Curse?”
Random Shoot didn’t speak after that.
They arrived at the town Random Shoot had spoken about earlier. It gave off a sort of vibe that wasn’t unfriendly, but not that welcoming either. There was a brick pathway, littered with leaves. The houses were simple and close together, it was a small town. “There’s only one of us with a definite home, you should room with him if you don’t wanna have an inconsistent house.” *insert name* just nodded. She was still trying to take in everything that had happened. First, she was attacked by some sort of nightmare demon, then she met a strange person, with an even stranger curse. It was a lot, and it was probably about to get worse as they headed into an ALLEYWAY.
Random Shoot stopped at a dumpster, and knocked on it. *insert name* cocked her head. Was this the place? What a small home.
Another person that looked similar to Random Shoot raised the top and peered out, eyes going wide once it saw *insert name*.
Random Shoot just smiled widely as always. “Hello That One Guy! This is *insert name*!” They gestured dramatically towards her, and she waved awkwardly. That One Guy lifted it up further. “Hi.” He said. He was very quiet. “Awww, friends already! Alright, I know this is sudden, but *insert name* here needs a place to stay!” That One Guy hesitated, then nodded slowly.
“Would you mind taking her in?” Random Shoot smiled at him.
“I wouldn't mind at all.” That One Guy lifted the top all the way up, and smiled a small smile.
*insert name* smiled back. Random Shoot took this as a good sign. “Well, you should get to know the place! I’ll be doing other things, but I’m always here when you need me!” They said, and left without letting either of them say bye.
“I hate when they do that.” That One Guy looked off in the direction where Random Shoot went. “I suppose they are right though, you should come in.”
He moved to the side giving *insert name* a space to hop in. She jumped in and landed, to her surprise, in pillows and blankets.
“I hope you like it.” That One Guy said, closing the top back down, leaving them in pitch black.
“Uhm, yeah, it’s a little dark though.” *inset name* replied. That One Guy tsked. “So negative.”
*insert name heard a few clanking noises, then the sound of someone winding something up. When it stopped, a gentle lullaby began to play and patches of light spun around the walls slowly.
“Wow…” *insert name* gasped quietly. It was beautiful. They both smiled.
“I think I’m gonna like it here.” *insert name* said, relaxing for the first time that day.
