I sipped tea in the lounge and read the letter my butler had brought from the mailbox minutes before. I wasn’t even surprised when I read that I had been accepted on the White Tiger Isle trip. Of course I was accepted. My parents were very well-known throughout the United States, and I was rich enough on my own to buy my own tickets to the Isle. I guess a free vacation couldn’t hurt. Maybe I could get a girlfriend. My parents were always pestering me about getting one but I could never meet anyone worthy enough for me. The girls at school were always fighting over me, even the ones who were richer than my parents, but I didn’t like any of them. They were always trying to impress me with clothes, looks, makeup, FOOD, you name it. One girl even tried to make my face out of a salmon filet and give it to me but I was upfront and turned her down, calling her weird. Maybe I shouldn’t have done that but, come on, what else was I supposed to do? It became quite tiring being the most popular boy in school but I was starting to get used to it. My parents didn’t really spend that much time with me so I just hung out with my friends on the weekends. So I guess you can say that I was a little bit excited about going to White Tiger Isle with three people I didn’t know. At least they wouldn’t treat me like I was some sort of rare organism. Right?
