Chapter setting: Original Universe
CW: Sightly +18 toward the end
The first time he saw him, Tao Qiang’s little heart almost couldn’t handle it.
Wei Li was trying to find something in the garbage, with a dead expression in his face, absolutely dirty from head to toe, his clothes ripped and his hair horribly tangled. Tao Qiang was in a carriage with the queen that day and saw the scene from the window of it. He couldn’t help it and, after taking some of the food he was having, climbed out of the carriage saying nothing and walked up to Wei Li.
“Gege.” Tao Qiang said, seeing how the other turned around, looking at him. “Take this.”
He offered him his food. Wei Li didn’t think twice before snatching it and scampering away.
“Hey! Come back! I won’t hurt you!”
But Wei Li didn’t come back. Tao Qiang felt like crying, the tears accumulating in his eyes while he came back to the carriage.
“Ah-Fen! What’s the matter? Why did you run? Why are you crying?” The queen asked, confused.
And Tao Qiang started to cry, explaining -between whimpers- what happened and how sad he was because of the kid.
“Gege! This is your room!”
Tao Qiang was showing Wei Li his new place.
After what happened, the queen assured Tao Qiang they would find the kid and give him food and place to stay. Tao Qiang asked for him to stay in the palace, and the queen thought on a way for it: they will train Wei Li for being Fang Li-Jun’s personal bodyguard. If the kid was strong enough and behaved well, they will keep training him.
“Do you like it? Look! You have views to the best part of the gardens.”
Wei Li didn’t say nothing in all this time. Tao Qiang thought he was mute, but it didn’t matter: he would find a way for him to communicate.
“I asked the servants to put these blankets for you. They are the best! Soft and warm. And here you have new clothes. You have to take a bath, though, you are dirty. Come! They already prepared it.”
Tao Qiang walk to the bathtub, testing the water temperature. It was perfect for a bath, so he looked at Wei Li, who moved slowly there.
“I’ll wait outside. You tell me when you are finished!”
Tao Qiang was walking way when he felt a grip in his wrist.
“You want me to stay?” Wei Li didn’t answer, but he could say from his gaze that the answer was ‘yes’. “Ok, I’ll stay then, don’t worry. You can always tell me when you want me to stay!”
There was a big storm this night. Tao Qiang was scared by the thunders and lights, shaking under the blankets. The door of his room opened then.
“A-Fen, are you sleeping?”
It was the Queen, holding a candlelight. Tao Qiang sat up, shaking his head.
“Are you ok?” The Queen knew about Tao Qiang being scared by the storms, so she wanted to make sure he was fine. Tao Qiang nodded, because he was a brave kid! She smiled, then. “Do you want to check if your friend is ok? I can go with you.”
Tao Qiang thought then: if he was scared, what about him? He would be terrified! He jumped out the bed, rushing.
“I’ll go! Your Majesty, you need to sleep, don’t worry! I’ll check!”
Before she could even answer, Tao Qiang ran to Wei Li’s room. He knocked the door, but as usual there was no answer.
“Gege, it’s me.” He said, opening the door slowly. “Are you ok?”
He didn’t need an answer to know that the other was scared: he could hear him crying, trying to be silent but failing. Tao Qiang walked to the bed then, looking at him.
“Do you want me to stay?”
Wei Li moved, so Tao Qiang could go into the bed, where he practically jumped after a thunder sounded.
“D-Don’t worry! Nothing will happen here. It’s just a storm! We are in the palace, we are safe.” Tao Qiang said, feeling then how Wei Li hugged him. “Nothing will happen to you! We are safe.” He repeated, hugging him back.
“….Thank you.”
Tao Qiang exclaimed, drawing a bit to look at Wei Li.
“You can talk! I thought you were mute.” Another thunder made them both jum, promptly clutching each other again. “D-Don’t worry! I’ll be here.”
And, as he promissed, he stayed there all the night.
“Wei Xia! How many times I have to tell you!”
Tao Qiang was scolding him again, frowning his eyebrows.
“But it’s nothing, A-Fen!”
“I don’t care! If you have a wound, you have to tell me!! See the blood in the clothes?! Do you know how difficult is to clean it out?! Come here, now!”
Wei Li rolled his eyes, smiling, walking to him and sitting down in the ground while Tao Qiang took the things for curing him.
“Every time, every dam time! Can’t you be more careful? Look, look at the clothes, all stained in blood!”
“A-Fen, I didn’t bleed this much. It is jus- ouch! Careful!”
“Shh! Quiet, I’m trying to clean your wound. Don’t move.”
And Wei Li smiled while seeing how Tao Qiang focused in cleaning and curing his wound.
Because he knew that Tao Qiang didn’t care about the clothes.
“What is this?”
Wei Li took the necklace that was on the table of his room. It was silver, slim, with tiny little gems on it.
“What ‘what is this?’? Obviously, a necklace. YOUR necklace. I found it under the bed. You always have this room as if a tornado passed! Look at the mess!! You don’t even know the things you have. Keep it in a good place! Don’t lose it again.”
Wei Li couldn’t help but smiling while he put the necklace away with the other jewelry. Jewelry that he never bought and, apparently, only appeared when Tao Qiang cleaned the room.
“I’m going to have a picnic in the gardens. Under the gingko tree. Tonight. A dinner picnic.”
Wei Li stopped in the middle of stretching. There stood Tao Qiang, with his arms crossed.
“Oh, nice! With who?”
“Just me.”
Wei Li blinked, confused. And then he smiled, softly.
“Oh. Enjoy then.”
“I’ll do.”
Tao Qiang turned around and started to walk. Wei Li waited a bit more seconds, trying to hold his laugh.
“A-Fen!” He called. “Can I join your picnic?”
“Fine! I’ll bring food for you too.”
Tao Qiang sounded moody, but everyone who knew him would notice that it wasn’t his “moody voice”. Wei Li was still smiling wide.
Obviously, this Tao Qiang’s plan didn’t have to do anything with how he said some days ago that his perfect date would be a picnic under the stars.
Obviously.
“I feel sorry for His Highness. He has to be in seclusion even tonight.”
It was the Spring Festival. Wei Li and Tao Qiang had the night free this year as Fang Li-Jun was into seclusion, strongly protected by a lot of guards. They were doing their duties until the dusk, when Wei Li asked Tao Qiang to go with him to see the fireworks.
“He is doing what he has to. When he becomes a God, he will enjoy all the Spring Festivals he wants.”
“I hope he ascends soon. It is nice to spend this night the three of us together.” Wei Li looked at Tao Qiang then, smiling at him. “Thank you for coming with me.”
“Did I have any other choice? You always make mess and troubles, if I don’t watch what you do probably you would set the city on fire without noticing. Or with a leg broken. Or both.” Wei Li laughed then. Tao Qiang, who was already blushing, blushed even more. “What are you laughing at? It is true!”
“I know! I know.” Wei Li calmed down a bit, still smiling widely. “You always take care of me. Thank you.”
Tao Qiang went mute when he felt the kind, warm stroke in his check. But he went even more silent when the soft lips of Wei Li kissed him. The fireworks started then, a beautiful splash of colors in he sky.
After some seconds of not reaction, Wei Li drew away slightly.
“A-Fen…?” He asked, a bit confused. He knew Tao Qiang was in love with him for all these years. He was waiting for him to make the first move, but he couldn’t help it and kissed him. Was it too soon?
“You kissed me.” Tao Qiang said with murmured softly.
“…Yes. Sorry, was it- A-FEN!”
And then, Tao Qiang fainted.
“Wait-“
Everyone in the palace was sleeping. Everyone but Wei Li and Tao Qiang.
Wei Li, one more time, had been waiting for Tao Qiang for doing the first move to doing something else than kissing. Wei Li had insinuated some times that he was ready for the next step, but Tao Qiang always fled when the things were getting… better. He knew why: Tao Qiang didn’t want to coerce him into doing something he didn’t want to, but the thing was he wanted to do more! He was ready!
So, this night, the night of Tao Qiang’s birthday, he decided it was the best moment for him to seduce him until the end. He went into Tao Qian’s room, he pushed him into his bed, sat on his lap and said, while opening his clothes: “I want to make love to you”. And he prayed for him not to faint this time.
“Are you really sure you want to do this?”
Tao Qiang asked. Again. He asked when Wei Li said that; he asked before Wei Li went down and did him his first blowjob; he asked when Tao Qiang went down and did the same; and he was asking now, on top of Wei Li, both ready for the last step.
“I’m sure, A-Fen.” Wei Li replied, stroking his cheek with all the love he was feeling in this moment, which was infinite. “I really want to do it. Do you want to do it?”
“I want. But I don’t want to hurt you.”
Wei Li smiled, kissing him one more time.
“You won’t. I know you would never hurt me, A-Fen.”
“Which clothes are the best? And which jewels? You are the one that know about jewels, which one should I wear, A-Fen?”
Tao Qiang hugged him then, stroking his hair. Wei Li hugged him back, trying to relax a bit, sighing.
“You are perfect just the way you are. You just have to be yourself.”
“A-Fen!” Wei Li hid his face in Tao Qiang’s chest. “Don’t say that! This doesn’t help!”
“I’ll help you to choose what to dress if it makes you feel better.” He said, still stroking him. “But you will see that everything goes fine with my parents. You don’t need to be worried.”
“You are a disgrace!! What did you do to my boy?!?! He wasn’t like this!!”
“Tao Fen!! Tao Fen, come here right now!! If you step out of this house, don’t even think of coming back!! You won’t belong to this family anymore!!”
Tao Qiang didn’t think twice when he went out, taking Wei Li’s hand, his face red with exasperation and his eyes wet.
“A-Fen! A-Fen, please, come back. Please, you can’t leave your family. They-They love you, it’s just…” Wei Li was having the worst moment of his life, seeing his lover in this state.
“I don’t need them!! I don’t need a family that doesn’t respect you nor my decisions!! I don’t need them!!”
“A-Fen!” Wei Li made him stop and look at him. “A-Fen, breath.” Tao Qiang clutched at him desperately then. Wei Li felt the silent tears fall on to his shoulder, while he hugged him back. “Breath, my love. I’m here. I’m here with you.”
“I know you are hiding something.”
Wei Li was aware of the strange behavior Tao Qiang was having the lasts days. He was avoiding him, and he didn’t even sleep with him the last two nights! And he knew why: Tao Qiang was keeping a big secret. And if he begged, he would tell him.
“WHAT?! ME?! YOU ARE HIDING SOMETHING!” Tao Qiang replied, completely nervous. “I’M VERY BUSY NOW!”
But Wei Li cornered him. Tao Qiang’s back was against a tree, while Wei Li was in front of him.
“Don’t you have even a second for your boyfriend? How cruel, A-Fen!” He said, poutting then. “You don’t love me anymore?”
He knew Tao Qiang was weak against the poutting attack. And this time wasn’t different. Tao Qiang lost all his strength looking at that face.
“That’s n-!”
“Then why are you avoiding me?” Wei Li pouted a bit more.
And he got what he was looking for.
“Iwasplanningtoaskyoumarriageinapicnictomorrow”
“Ha! I knew you were hiding somethin- Wait WHAT?!”
“A-Xia”
Wei Li was sitting on his lap, moving his hips with a sweet rythm, his arms embracing Tao Qiang’s neck while kissing him one more time. They were still wearing the precious red clothes, but opened so they could feel each other’s body.
“A-Xia, you are so beautiful.” Tao Qiang repeated, his hands in the other’s waist, helping him to move, feeling Wei Li’s chest against his.
“A-Fen!” Wei Li let a moan scape after Tao Qiang bit his neck, marking him again. “A-A-Fen…” He looked at his eyes again, feeling overhelmed, a warmth feeling growing in his chest. “My husband…”
